Unfortunately by the time we arrived in Heraklion, it was evening so we only had 2 nights and 1 full day here. The beds were super comfortable as was the bedding. The shower was out of AD and great. We were right across the street from the parking lot and our room, that had a balcony and table and chairs overlooked a square. You can have your breakfast there for a small additional cost.

Sole d'oro was a great place to stay in on Santorini. We had our own private hot tub and the room was nice a roomy. The bathroom was this wonderful soft yellow that made you look wonderful and tanned in the mirror. The shower was in an adobe type structure that was very roomy. Because of Covid-19, breakfast was on our patio or in our room and coffee, croissants, cakes and breads came automatically and then we ordered yogurts, omelets, as well as freshly squeezed juice. Only comment is there was not enough space to put out clothing so we dressed from our suitcase.

Parking was not the easiest, however we were at the hotel 4 nights and didn't have a problem parking in the two small lots just up the street from the hotel.

The hotel was located in a quiet part of Athens, yet close enough to Plaka, the oldest and fashionable in Athens. The beds were extremely comfortable as was the bedding. The bathroom was modern and the shower great. They offered a breakfast in their dining room that was included. Cheeses and hams to start, with croissants and other savory breads, freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee and then they gave you a menu for breakfast! So much food and very delicious. The folks at the desk couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back again.

We felt like we were living in an old restored Cretan building--I'm sure we were. They did a beautiful job in the restoration and our room felt authentic as well, with beamed ceilings and shuttered windows and thick white stone walls. The room contained all modern amenities, although it was lacking in storage for clothing, if you were staying more than a few days. We loved the location and were steps away from tons of restaurants and shops and the old harbors was not too far away.

Tough location if you have a car as there is limited parking and then you need to roll you suitcase thru the Old Town of Chania over cobble stone walkways.

Our last tour with Nicolas and the driver, Yannis was a lot of fun. We visited a super cool herb farm, where they had hundred of jars of herbs, teas and special soaps, as well as gardens where a lot of it was grown. We spent a lot of time choosing soaps and herbs that were so reasonably priced. We had drinks on the veranda before we departed to a beautiful gorge that we could not access due to the last smaller earthquake that cut off easy access. The roads along with way were filled with pink and white flowers with the snow capped mountains in the background. Nicolas took us to a part of Crete where you can see both the Agean and Libyan Seas. We visited Monasteries in both eastern and western Crete that were beautiful as they were historic, We had lunch in tavern that was surrounded by running streams and you can drink the water right from the stream! The lunch as delicious grilled fish, tzatiki and another Greek speciality that we'd never had before that was phenomenal! We also went to a Monastery from where the monks got into soldiers gear to help fight off the German's in WW2. We later visited a monument celebrating their fight.

Our eastern Crete tour was the best. Alex was an incredible guide who was so knowledgeable about everything Crete. Our driver was also engaging and full of knowledge about olive trees and all things growing. We went on this tour with 2 other lovely ladies that made the trip that much more interesting. We checked out all different plants growing on the side of the road that were used for cooking or for medicinal uses. Alex took us to a remote restaurant, where mostly locals eat and we had the best meal in our visit to Crete! Everything was prepared in wood burning ovens and they were able to accommodate us as vegetarians, with the most incredible roasted vegetables, stuffed peppers and sautéed herbs and greens from the 6,000 varieties in Crete-they had wood roasted lamb and goat for the carnivores They made their own wines which were part of the meal and delicious, as well as home made cheeses. We stopped at a gorge, where we went thru a flowing stream only to come out to the most amazing view. We have many pictures from this spot. We went to an old monastery that was run by nuns, where they gave us cookies and allowed us to wonder their beautiful and zen spot. There was a small store where the nuns sold things that they made.

The tour we took in Santorini was a bit of a waste-the Unexplored Culture of Santorini. We went to a tomato factory that is no longer used and we were given a recorded tour thru the factory. Since cherry tomatoes were not in season, there was nothing to see in the fields. Our guide Yannis was full of information as he lived thru the earthquake of 1956 and had many stories and those including the tomato factory that was under a few feet of mud . We then went to the Symposion for the music part of the tour. It was run by a fascinating and talented couple who renovated the property from wine making to music making. They were a fascinating couple but we would have preferred hearing Greek music from our talented host instead of making our own "pan" musical instrument.

Our tour to the Acropolis in Athens was hindered by an heat episode on my part so the trip was reorganized and we spent a good part of the day in the Museum seeing the Parthenon and Acropolis thru Eleni's adept descriptions and commentaries, it was close to actually being there. Eleni made the tour enjoyable and educational. Regrettably we spend so much time in the museum, where it was cool and where there was less concern for my "health", that we missed part of the food tour that we were really looking forward to. That said, Eleni made sure we got our souvlaki and Loukoumades, that was super delicious.

Loved loved loved this place! Beautiful 2nd floor (Rea) room with a hot tub on the balcony. The street does run in front but the room was quiet and the street didn’t seem that busy to us. People have complained about the air conditioning but if you ask the staff, they will show you exactly how to set it and it worked beautifully. Breakfast was included and was delicious. We ate twice at the restaurant and it was among our favorite meals. The beach is great with plenty of lounges and umbrellas. Absolutely the most wonderful aspect of our stay was the friendly attentive staff!

Beautiful room and view. Location was excellent. North of the busy center and therefore quieter. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking the caldera was a highlight. Staff were so wonderful.

We stayed on the second floor. The main floor had a day bed and access to the balcony. Up steep marble stairs was a darling bedroom. Didn’t use the hot tub located in this room. (Don’t really understand why anyone would want one in this climate to be honest) air conditioning worked great.

Excellent walkable location with quiet rooms and a huge breakfast. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy, room was quiet. Good air conditioning:). We ate once at the rooftop restaurant and really enjoyed it

George is such a knowledgeable and kind guide. Generous with his local tips and really helped us get a glimpse of what it is like to live in this beautiful, historic, vibrant place.

Out captain and crew got us out on the water ahead of the pack :) I’m so very glad we did this. Snorkeling, Cruising through the center of the volcanic cap, great food and tons of laughs.

Lazarus showed us the most beautiful photogenic places and showed us a window to the soul of this beautiful place with its delicate ecosystem that I threatened by over tourism. I’m so glad to know people like him are trying to bring attention to the challenges of living sustainably in such a remarkable one of a kind place

Apostolos is a fun and informative guide. This was an excellent intro to the main town and the food was fab

Book this now! Beautiful location. Pick the veggies and herbs from the gardens and prep the meal. While it cooks, hike the creek (gentle shaded more of a walk really) up to some old stone ruins. Friendly people. You’re a guest at their home.

Great intro and kept us moving the first evening so jet lag was well managed. Our guide Theo is among the most knowledgeable fun and professional guides I’ve ever met - and a truly kind, authentic soul who imparted a depth of understanding re the culture and recent history we NEVER would have gotten otherwise

George met us at the hotel and gave us a quick informative and fun overview. Showed me where to find coffee so 5 stars right there

Great tour throughout the city...and we were able to avoid the traffic! Dimitry was an amazing guide...knowledgeable and friendly...really made sure we were all safe and taken care of.

It was our first cooking class and it was alot of fun and very well planned by the host. We met 7 other couples that we got to share a meal with in the end.

This hotel was a slice of perfection right off of the beach. It is a new hotel and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Each morning we had a big breakfast prepared by Margherita that was phenomenal and we could see the water from our table. The rooms were lovely. The cabanas by the beach were comfortable and easily accessible. Anastasia checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed to spark joy. The hotel itself was great but coupled with the staff makes this place unforgettable. This hotel is quite special for all the right reasons.

I went on 2 dives with Atlantis Dive Center and both were amazing. I loved seeing an underwater environment that was different than what I had seen before. I have a lot of diving experience and worked on a dive boat at one point. However, most of the divers on the boat were new. This dive center did a great job with the less experienced divers. Really one of the most attentive and helpful centers I have seen in the sense of making sure everyone was safe and having a good experience

This hike and the guide were trip highlights. Kostas took into account the kind of hiking we liked to do and added on to the hike to make it a little longer which was amazing. As a result we saw this 360 view of Santorini from Skaros. It was one of my favorite spots of the entire week. Kostas was our best guide because it didn’t feel like a scripted experience. He had a good balance of giving us information but also just talking as we walked along.

This tour was special because it was obvious Leo had a lot of pride in his island and wanted to show us all the good things it had to offer. We learned a lot about Naxos, but beyond that we got a sense of the culture. Leo was great about balancing his prepared stops with small ones we requested like getting gelato and buying our family olive oil from the village that is known for producing it. It was an exceptional day.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helped us get oriented to Santorini. We loved relaxing by the pool, the views of the sunset, and of course enjoying the breakfast that was delivered every morning to the patio of our room.

Wonderful experience. Our driver and tour guide were both very friendly and knowledgeable. We tasted great wines, learned about the history of Santorini (with regards to the agriculture), and got to cook traditional food from the island. The experience ended with a final glass of wine and an amazing view of the sunset.

Amazing staff! Clean and beautiful hotel. Very convenient- 5 minutes walk to Mykonos town. Sunset view from my room was unobstructed and beautiful!

Theo my guide for my private tour was amazing, bubbly and knowledgeable. He took me to restaurants and bars that were authentic and beautiful and amazing food and drinks! Theo walked me home (10min walk) to make sure I'm home safe. The whole night felt like I was with a friend exploring the city!

Fabulous hotel, walking distance to old town in Plaka and the Acropolis. While in an old building, hd interior of the hotel was completely redone with a fabulous shower, bed and pillow. We had a great dinner at Frankie, 1/2 block away.

Virginia was so lovely and helpful. I booked a yoga class which was such an amazing add on. The view here can’t be beat.

Know that water isnt potable

Two of three rooms were facing the water, so that was nice. We weren't there for very long (it was our night-before-the-airport hotel), but it was very nice. The breakfast was wonderful - a lot of variety. I wonder if the Greek people eat so many desserts for breakfast or if they just think that Americans and other travelers do! Ha ha! Still, it was a breakfast full of a huge variety and we enjoyed it very much. The best part was the location and not having to stay at the airport!

What a beautiful place. The rooms were luxurious and the patios were exquisite! The view was amazing. I wish the one day we had marked as a "leisure" day would have been nice enough for us to have enjoyed the pool and maybe taken a hike in the fields, if that was allowed. (It rained all day.) The breakfasts were delightful -- we loved having such a wide selection and the dishes were refilled often. The location was convenient (since we had a car), and we were happy to stay a bit outside of town. We had two rooms (one for two people and one for three). I would have liked to have had a microwave or coffee maker in our room (for two). The staff was excellent -- there had been a small mix-up with the reservation, but it was quickly corrected and everyone was very solicitous.

Charming rooms, nice breakfast, excellent location -- a good place to stay in a very nice town!

We thought the Noma was ideally situated for our three days in Athens. The staff was friendly and responsive. We had three rooms reserved because of the size of our party, and each was different, but they all worked. We enjoyed the tiny balcony on the second floor. The elevator was nice, and there was a little lobby. Our bath towels were the size of hand towels, even after exchanging them (but another couple in our party had normal-sized towels). One of the rooms had a bathroom that was not exactly private from the rest of the room. We would have probably rather have gotten breakfast on our own -- what was offered was pretty plain and monotonous -- a croissant, eggs, and coffee -- no fruit, no pastries. The rooms were comfortable and stocked (for a fee). The best part about it was being able to step out right into the heart of Athens.

Wow - what meals we had here! We were only here for a late dinner (they gave us a lot of extra dishes to try, and they were fabulous), and breakfast. The breakfast was amazing -- they had such a variety, even of teas and coffees and desserts. The lobbies were cool -- actual Olympic torches (the family has a connection), and the pool area was beautiful, though we didn't have time to enjoy it. The rooms were spacious, if a little dated, and the staff was very nice. We purchased some olive oil to take home, too!

While the information was interesting and we thought a lot of the guide, we concluded that we prefer more historic tours. I don't think we realized that this "hike" was actually more of a walk through the town. We had, on the rainy day, already walked through much of the town, and we had driven up to see the coast the day before. I can appreciate the intent of the hike, but it just wasn't for us.

Because one member of our party works in the wine industry, we were really looking forward to a tour so that he could compare the sites. We really only got to see the cellars and the showroom. We asked some questions, but the guide didn't go too far off-script. The tasting was okay -- we were given two whites and two reds. None of them knocked my socks off, so to speak. The lunch was fabulous and gave us a great taste (ha ha) of some Greek food we hadn't tried yet. The venue was very pretty.

My recommendations are the following: ** Change the pin in the Wanderlog app for the Delphi location. It took us to the town rather than to the site by the museum where we needed to meet the guide. We were therefore about twenty minutes late, and the guide had to leave us earlier than we would have liked (I think he had another tour). Delphi ended up being our shortest tour as a result. ** Make sure the drivers know where to drop the car off at the airport -- with a pin maybe on the app. This part caused a lot of stress and driving around, being unsure where to go. The person who dropped the car off to us was not clear, and it wasn't precise in the app. ** Make sure the driver knows what kind of gas to get! There are a lot of choices and we weren't really sure. Luckily, the service station people knew what to use !

While it was crowded and it was a windy, but sunny day, the experience of the Acropolis can't be beat. Our guide was extremely helpful in leading us around and providing the context for the experience. The viewers were very cool, and we loved that our guide showed us all over the museum, showing us the connections between the Acropolis and the museum, and teaching us about the history and the meanings behind the statues.

Our guide was different from the one originally scheduled, but she was fabulous and we are so happy she joined us for our late afternoon tour. She brought Olympia alive with knowledge and passion. She "crowned" our son after he beat my daughter running on the stadia. What an amazing experience! She shared her own archeological experiences with us as she filled in the years. She taught us about the meanings of the statues. I really couldn't compliment her enough -- this experience was our favorite of all of the days and tours.

This was a lovely hotel just outside of Arachova. We had a huge, modern room with an amazing view. The manager, Leonard, and his staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable.

Amazing hike to see ancient monasteries and the Lousios Gorge. Fotis, our experienced guide, led us through the trail, while explaining the flora and history of the area. He also brought along a picnic lunch that included his own olives and oil. It was one of the highlights of the trip.

This is a hard one. An upscale hotel with some pretentious aspirations. We had a very nice room, and the staff were very attentive, maybe overly so. I felt bad for the staff who were tasked with hovering about. Maybe this was more a result of being over-staffed during the early season? On the other hand, they were very helpful and courteous. They provided us a rental car. I would recommend them. Nice beach, but too early in the season for swimming - May 7 - May 9.

Get a rental car as you're isolated from other interesting locations on the island

Very nice and quiet location. Quiet beach right across the street. On the bus route to the Hora area (ferry port and main town).

Water was too cool for much bathing in early May.

Initially confusing walking around, but don't be intimidated. Pick a few landmarks from the hotel and you'll inevitably cross them on your walking about. Also, a guided walking tour of the neighborhood could include all the more important sites and give you an introduction to the neighborhood.

A place steeped in mythology and history, The Temple of Poseidon is definitely something to visit. It is peaceful and so calming just to watch the Temple and look out at the ocean, that there is no need for anything else at that moment.

A rental car would be best if staying here as a tourist. Beach is very close as well as restaurants. In a more neighborhood area. Beautiful classic hotel.

This is a resort and not a "hotel". Nice pools and close to the beach and restaurants. Good breakfast and pool bar. Reception poorly staffed with too few and inexperienced individuals. Too few pool chairs as they were claimed just after breakfast though not necessarily occupied.

Stairs to most rooms. Don't expect to hang by the pool.

Great location to walk (though lots of steps) to the town. Anastasia was an amazing host and soon felt as a friend. Comfortable accommodations and traditional breakfast.
