Trolltunga was spectacular.
I liked the variation in accommodations, from the Trolltunga Hotel, to a more modern "chain" at the Scandic Voss, to the family-run Dragsvik Fjordhotel; the combination of experiences at each was a nice variation, although each were unique.
I endorse each of the experiences we had, and thought that driving through Norway was fairly simple.
Overall, great job, Julia and team.

We are so incredibly grateful to Linda for planning us an AMAZING 18 day itinerary through Norway.
She really gave us incredible diversity along our travels- allowing us to see the country from so many points of view!
We came home with so many memories we will cherish forever- and it was so thoughtful how Linda checked in with us along our journey.
Since we went North to South through the country, I thought I would share my favourite stops along the way:
- Honningsvag and Nordkapp: being that North was something we will never forget. Being at Nordkapp on the summer solstice Instantly became a core memory. The midnight sun and the driving were epic!! We would have loved another night here. Our hotel in Honningsvag had a beautiful rooftop terrace.
- The Sami culture park in Karasjok is worth a visit we loved to learn about the culture and driving here we saw SOO many reindeer! We also got to feed some at the nature park right beside our hotel. Be aware that the park is closed on Sundays if you travel there over a weekend. The restaurant there beside the Scandic hotel was one of our favourites of the entire trip!
- Tromso was a lively incredible city with amazing views everywhere you look. The cable car for the midnight sun is a must. We spent quite a bit of time up there. The views were beautiful. Our hotel- Clarion the Edge had the most comfortable bed of the entire trip and I slept so well here.
- Fjaerland: this was HANDS DOWN our absolute FAVOURITE part of our trip! This small village should be visited by anyone going to Norway. Kayaking in the fjord, the floating sauna, the glacier museum and having lunch in front of the glacier left us speechless. We were in love with every minute of being here. 2 nights was the perfect amount of time to see the village and do some activities. A MUST visit for anyone. Fjaerland Fjorstove hotel had the most amazing and friendly staff, the food was great and better yet- learning about the village from the locals was so fantastic.
- Vaerlandet: The next top stop for us on our journey- we enjoyed the island life thoroughly and the hotel was INCREDIBLE. Vaerlandet Havhotell- Elin was Incredible. She was SO nice and accommodating, even letting us do a load of laundry during our visit! The view from our terrace allowed us to fully enjoy sunsets, the breakfast delivered right to your door was great and climbing Alden mountain with a private boat transfer was also a core memory from our trip!
-Flam Railway: an incredible trip not to miss up the mountain with so much beautiful scenery and waterfalls!
-Oslo: We really enjoyed the city vibe of Oslo. There were so many great shops and restaurants here, but we truly wouldn’t have enjoyed Oslo as much if we didn’t have a guided walking tour with our guide STIG! He was AMAZING! Such a cool, laid back guy, who loved being off the beaten path and really made us fall in love with his city. The stories and history he shared made our visit to Oslo so special. Thanks Stig!!!
The opera house is the ideal place to watch the sunset each night and the vintage shops were my favourite!

Thank you Linda and Kimkim for an incredible trip we will never forget. We really felt like we could reach out to Linda for anything- having the best support along our travels. Once again, we are so grateful for you!
We have been telling everyone we know about the incredible service and look forward to using it again in the future!

After three years of KimKim correspondence, two false starts due to Covid, it finally happened, and it was more than worth waiting for! Beginning with a challenging but spectacular hike to Trolltunga led by our excellent guide Linda, this set the tone for more spectacular experiences to come including an amazing camping and kayaking and camping experience with Much Better Adventures along the Naerfjord and Aurlandsfjord before returning to Bergen via the majestic Flam Railway. The next part of the adventure saw me experience perhaps the jewel in the crown of Norway's majestic fjords, Geiranger, which I also got to experience via a kayak. If all this wasn't enough, before returning home I experienced a walk on the Folgefonna Glacier, which was beautiful.

All transport and accommodation arranged by KimKim as well as the information provided about local public transport was so helpful, enabling me to get out and about where I went including finding some good places to eat and local museums to visit and was always useful to be in contact with KimKim local specialist Christina when unsure about something. What made the whole experience worth waiting for for three years though was that it felt like more than simply a visit to Norway, but I actually go to experience it up close and personal. Seeing the fjords from a kayak, as well as enabling you to see just how steep-sided they are, also put you in touch with the movements and texture of the fjord water, both its calmness and occasional ripples, while the camping gives one an idea as to how the Vikings may have experienced them, as well as inspired them to explore through the curiosity it maybe aroused in them wanting to know where the fjords led, or what was behind the mists that often shroud them. Similarly, the Folgefonna Glacier walk enabled me to experience it's texture as well as take me back to the planet's geological past to the ice age, getting a feel for how the fjords where formed.

As well as getting an up and close personal experience of Norway through a series of different activities, hiking, kayaking and camping, I also feel visiting Norway (was my third time in Norway), I get a sense of who I am, much of which was enabled by Christina and KimKim, who never forgot about despite the longer than anticipated wait and so many false starts. A huge thanks to Christine and to KimKim for ensuring I had the best experience I could possibly have had.

Snowhotel Kirkenes

Even though we visited the Snow Hotel in the summer, I consider this to be something every traveler to Norway should experience. The main hotel is constructed entirely of ice, from the floors and walls, to the actual beds, furnishings and decorations. The word "amazing" falls short of describing this lovely facade. We stayed in a Gamma cabin on the premises which was also just beautiful. Constructed of various types of light color wood, the worksmanship was outstanding. ultra modern bathroom, and a huge picture window in the main room, which allowed us to sit and enjoy the views of the ice hotel, the 160 sled dogs on the premises and the reindeer, which you can feed! The restaurant served really delicious food and in my opinion, the chefs were masterful and the food was outstanding. The entire experience far exceeded my expectations. If I could award it six stars, I would

Hi Pat, thank you so much for your review. You had a nice experience traveling from Oslo to Bergen via Sognefjord and then up the coast with Hurtigruten and really got to see a lot of our country. Unfortunately it did not end well with the SAS flight strike and having to spend extra time in Kirkenes and alternative route back home! I hope, looking back at the trip - it is the good memories of the journey itself you will remember! After long time planning due to covid! Take care both.

While we could have spent some more time in the cities, the fjord cruises, hotels, and Trolltunga hike were definitely the highlights. The Flam Railway was also an amazing surprise, as we didn't realize it was not a normal train transfer, and that valley was simply incredible. The Aurlandsfjord Hotel was also a terrific place to stay and gave us gorgeous views of that particular fjord. Trolltunga Active is a high quality and professional outfitter that led our Trolltunga hike, and their camping (or glamping) domes are definitely the way to go. We had comfortable sleeping pads and fully catered dinners sitting at benches, and then had the Trolltunga rock formation all to ourselves after the hordes of day hikers had left. All the fjord cruises were incredible and the waterfalls and cliff faces were everywhere and around every corner. Simply a gorgeous country!

Really friendly staff, but the rooms were small and we were on the hillside vs. the fjord side. Feels/looks like it was a grand old hotel back in the day, but a bit past its prime. Also, there are no other places to eat within walking distance, so you're a bit captive to their dininig room or you have to take the bus down to Odda, which we did on the second night. If you have your own car, then it's a bit better. Also, Tyssedal is really a factory town so the hotel overlooks a big old factory on the water.

We are back home in Maine with our two cats, the gardens are in late Spring bloom and we have many, many photos to be edited and posted.

We sincerely thank Tom Christer and the KimKim team for their guidance throughout the trip, from framing our itinerary to our final days in Oslo. Tom was not only a guide but a friend in times of uncertainty when we tested positive.

Times and technology have altered the nature of travel on many levels and a new set of challenges often await at every turn, not the least a global pandemic.

Tom and KimKim offered not only a link to some of the best things to do, places to visit stay but also connected us to excellent guides, Stig in Oslo and Fartein in Bergen, who both added so much to our understanding and appreciation of each city.

Our personal tour up the Esefjjorden with Capt. Thor remains a highlight of our trip.

The hotels were exceptional. No one serves a better breakfast buffet that the Hotel Bristol, they set the standard.

On our next trip KimKim will be our first consideration and we will highly recommend KimKim to anyone looking to travel.

We personally and sincerely thank Tom Christer and the KimKim team for a great journey and travel
experience and wish you all continued success.

This is an authentic hotel from the 1930's. We expected to see Nick and Nora Charles walking down the stairs with their dog Astor, it a film noir set. The room felt old except the bathroom which was updated nicely. Nice small bar to hang out and absorb the nostalgia.

We had a wide experience of the main highlights that Norway has to offer.......including the calm of Oslo, the history of Bergen, and why or what is Trondheim. We had a "great railway trip" from Oslo to the Flam, met up with over peopled Cruise Ships (not for us), cruised the coast and the fjords through rain and sun, fell in awe at Geiranger fjord, and got very wet on the Atlantic Highway.
The wide selection of hotels KimKim booked us into were all fascinating and we enjoyed the quality and of course the breakfasts at each one.
We found our way around quite well and most of the arrangements clicked into place easily.......however there were some inevitable hiccups that always occur on these trips: 1. Anyone going to Bergen via the Flam must be on the 6.25am train (KimKim nearly had us on a later train that wouldn't have worked) (TIP ALWAYS CHECK EVERYTHING THAT KIMKIM ARRANGE) 2. The Hurtigertun boat is not a cruise ship and we found it overcrowded and uncomfortable particularly given KimKim couldnt get us beds/cabins (We feel strongly that KimKim should have shared the email they received from the shipping co on 3rd May: if we had seen it we would probably have changed the itinery (TIP TO KIMKIM IF THERE IS A PROBLEM THEN SHARE IT WITH THE CUSTOMER : THE EARLIER THEY KNOW ABOUT IT THE BETTER).

Perfect at the end of a long ferry ride/day. The view from our bedroom was one of the best we have ever had.

Tips for future travelers

If you arrive via ship then call ahead for a taxi. The hotel is at the top of a hill (hence the views) but it wont send a car down the hill to collect you. Its a steep climb up a dangerous road, and will not be for everyone.

Linda was creative in planning the trip and with me all the time, thru kimkim, very fast responses. Our 13 days in Norway was everything we could have imagined. Even the weather cooperated!!

We flew into Tromso and drove to Sommaroy for a night's stay at the wonderful Artic Hotel. Then we were off to Senja Island which was AMAZING! We stayed at the Hamn I Senja with the most incredible views. We were a little concerned about taking ferries but they turned out to be no issue--just make sure you get there early to avoid any anxiety. We didn't need tickets ahead of time except for the final ferry to Bodo from Moskenes. Staying in the Lofoten Islands was so wonderful as we go kayaked in Reine and explore the "big" city of Svolvaer. My only compliant is that we had to leave!

This hotel is quaint and has the best views ... the staff was super friendly and helpful. It is up the hill from the other amenities so you need a taxi or car to get there if you are coming in by boat. This also means you eat there unless you want to get yourself to the bottom of the hill. It is a small hotel so the meal choices are limited but we enjoyed the offering.

My husband and I recently returned from a trip which included Bergen, Vaerlandet, Fjaerland and Lofoten . It's hard for me to express with words how wonderful our trip was. The credit for this goes to our wonderful specialist Linda. We started planning this trip about 3 years ago . We had to cancel our plans twice due to covid. This involved a lot of work on Linda's part but she was always gracious and happy to help. In addition to planning our route she also recommended and scheduled activities for us as well as arranging our rental cars. We started our trip in Bergen which is the city where my grandmother was born. It is very special for me to be in Bergen and this was my fourth visit. I did the walk with a local which was excellent! My guide, Brit, was a wealth of information . We walked for 3 hours and saw much of Bergen. My husband and I stayed at the Bergen Bors Hotel which is beautiful and located across the street from the fish market. My husband and I did a rib boat tour out of Bergen which was really fun!. We also did the round trip Fjord cruise from Bergen to Rosendal. I would highly recommend this cruise if you are in Bergen . We then left Bergen and drove and took ferries to Vaerlandet . We really enjoyed staying at the Vaerlandet Havhotell. The woman who checked us in to the hotel as well as chef Michael of the only restaurant on the island took great care of us. Our next stop was Fjaerland which is one of Norway's Book towns. We enjoyed the glacier museum as well as a guided hike to Blabaerstolen. The Fjaerland Fjordstove Hotel and staff were wonderful. Everyone we encountered in this town was extremely friendly . We visited the 2 stave churches on this route which were stunning! We then drove back to Bergen. Linda made all of these drives easy with a ferry outline and schedule. We then flew to Svolvaer . The Nordic Suites hotel was a beautiful place to stay. The silent Trollfjord Cruise is a must if you are in Svolvaer, We saw several white tailed eagles on the cruise. We then drove to Reine and stopped at several beautiful white sand beaches. We took a 4 hour fishing tour while in Reine which was great fun! Everyone on board caught a fish. We also stopped at the Viking Museum which was great very nice. We stayed 1 night in Henningsvaer and then flew back to Bergen . Then home to the US. I could not be more pleased with Linda and the trip that she planned for us. She is amazing!!! Hopefully we can return to Norway soon.
