Cultural Tour of Milos Island

Discover the island of Milos, known for its beautiful beaches, white-washed villages, and fascinating history. This driving tour starts with a stop at the Ancient Theater of Milos, set at the Gulf of Milos' narrow entrance. Enjoy views of Tripiti and Klima, two of the island's more modern villages, and where you'll find the largest natural port in the Mediterranean. Then, make your way to the area where archeologists discovered the Venus de Milo statue. Today, you can find it at the Louvre in Paris.

Your next stop is the Catacombs of Milos. This site is the second-most remarkable Prechristianic monument in the world, following those found in Rome. Milos is an official Holy Island, making it a World Pilgrimage site that draws spiritual crowds worldwide. On the drive, you'll also visit two picturesque fishing villages, Klima and Mandrakia, both known for traditional Syrmata, the colorful door caves that protect boats in the winter.

In Plaka, the capital of Milos, you'll visit the Folklore and Archeological Museum. Your guide will lead you through the exhibits, where you'll learn about the island's history and traditional way of life. Enjoy some free time to stroll through the narrow streets of Plaka and peruse its shops. You'll meet back at Marmara, the churchyard of Panagia Korfiatissa, and one of the best photo spots on the island.

End your tour at Sarakiniko Beach, famous for its white volcanic rocks. Enjoy a refreshing swim or simply relax on the sand.
