Overview

Discover the natural beauty and culture of Morocco's High Atlas Mountains. As you zip into the scenic hills, you'll make several stops to enjoy impressive panoramas of small villages, enchanting scenery, and interesting landscapes.

After leaving Marrakech, you'll head toward the Atlas Mountains via the Ourika Valley, known for its famous waterfalls. Enjoy an easy 1.5-hour walk to the waterfalls with the help of an experienced mountain guide. As you hike, you'll learn more about the area's spectacular landscapes, watching them stretch endlessly before your eyes.

Next, visit the Berber women who work to extract oil from the Argan nut, a plant endemic to Morocco. Then, continue through the Oukaimden Valley and follow a secluded mountain road that passes traditional Berber villages built from adobe and stones. Discover the authentic life of Berber people and enjoy a delicious lunch in a typical Berber home with an amazing view over Sidi Fares Valley.

Before heading back to Marrakech, you'll visit the Asni Valley, famous for its apple, walnut, almond, and peach trees. Enjoy the scenes of snowy summits and the beauty of the Tahnaout Valley.

This tour was not meant for people with physical limitations. It involves a lot of walking on rough unpaved paths and climbing mountains. We were unaware prior to embarking on this trip what it would entail. We had to abort this excursion less than halfway through. We were disappointed to not meet the Berber family for lunch. The roads leading up to the point where we were dropped off were under construction and it was a sad sight watching people still in tents after the earthquake last year.... Read more

I would have picked another excursion. The best part was meeting our guides' mother!

Took a nice hike in the mountains to a waterfall then to a Berber family house for a delicious lunch. Again, not exactly what we expected. Our mountain hiking guide, Mohammed, was awesome. The hike was great! Beautiful and quiet. Lunch with a Berber family should really be called lunch at a Berber family's house where they serve you then you have lunch with the guide. Read more
