What you'll do

Your day begins with a convenient pickup and a drive to the banks of the Río Corobicí, where you'll meet your dedicated naturalist guide. After a quick introduction, you'll board a comfy raft and set off on a peaceful float down the river.

The pace is slow and steady as you drift downstream, perfect for spotting wildlife tucked along the riverbanks and in the surrounding trees. Your guide will help you spot wildlife, from iguanas sunning on the riverbanks and crocodiles moving stealthily in the water (the Corobicí is home to a vital population of these giants) to birds overhead and troops of howler monkeys moving through the canopy. Birdlife is abundant here, and your guide will also help point out species you might otherwise miss, all while sharing insights into the region’s rich biodiversity.

Once your river safari wraps up (about two hours), you'll transfer to the Llanos de Cortés waterfall, an oasis in Guanacaste. A short trail—about 74 steps—leads you down to the base of the falls, where you'll find a large sandy area and a sizable natural pool backed by the wide cascade. Surrounded by dense greenery, it's an ideal place to cool off with a swim or simply relax on the sandy banks, listening to the sounds of the falls and the birds in the towering trees.

Lunch and drinks (bottled water and fruit juice) are provided, giving you a chance to unwind and refuel before heading out. The excursion concludes as you're driven back to your original meeting point.
