Live like a local in Lisbon with this homemade dinner in a private home, where you'll get to taste authentic Portuguese flavors and learn more about life in this country. What you'll do

Spend a few hours getting to know Lisbon on a deeper level with this intimate dinner with a local. You'll head to their home in the city center, where you'll meet your host and possibly their family, who will welcome you into this cozy and relaxed setting. There may be other guests there too, who share a similar interest in getting a more personal understanding of Portugal. During this informal dinner, your host will provide you with a three-course meal of tasty Portuguese dishes, accompanied by wine and other beverages. You'll get to learn about life in Lisbon and the history of Portugal and offer details of your own experiences and cultural traditions. After dinner, you're free to return to your accommodations or to set out into Lisbon with this new insight into Portugal's capital.

As introverts, my husband and I were a bit apprehensive about doing this. But we are so glad we did! Thanks to Bea for the suggestion! The hosts Sofia and Carlos made us feel so welcomed in their home! They are genuinely kind and gracious hosts! Carlos cooked chorizo over a flame which was an experience in itself! Sofia is an excellent cook, and made a delicious cuttlefish stew that she and Carlos had caught themselves! The dessert was incredible too—a cap to a wonderful evening. Read more

It is clear they don't host these dinners to make money - they truly want to meet people and make them feel welcome in their country. There were issues with both my booking and the booking of the couples I ate with but Sofia and Carlos went out of their way to make sure we all still had a wonderful time. I will go out of my way to reach out to Sofia and Carlos if I make my way back to Lisbon. They could not have been lovelier. Read more

This one experience made our entire 2 week visit to Portugal worthwhile. We were welcomed into the home of Sofia and Carlos and they immediately made us feel like family. We enjoyed a beautiful home cooked meal, we laughed, told stories, and were treated like friends.
