This was our best tour of our trip. Paulo is one fabulous tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in his company. (I mean who doesn't connect with a man who loves spreadsheets!) His knowledge about Portugal is immense and he answered all of our questions. We had a great lunch at his family restaurant where we were greeted like family and had the best meal of our trip - the famous Bacalhau à Brás. It was a thoroughly and enjoyable day! Read more

Paulo Pires our guide made this excursion one not to be forgotten!! His knowledge, personality, engagement is exceptional. If we were to do any other excursions, we would seek Paulo out to guide us and make us feel as though we are off on a journey with a friend. We need to add his wife, Anita, as he calls the beautiful one, is equally a spectacular person and you feel the warmth of true Portuguese people. The excursion to Sintra was disappointing. The guide was not up to par and did not allow space for questions or interaction. The tour of Pena Palace was overcrowded, and the audio guide was ineffective due to guards rushing us through, so the audio did not match what we were looking at. The restaurant for lunch seemed to be a conflict of interest as it was owned by someone associated with the excursion company, and the meal was mediocre. Our driver, Nuno, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable of the history of each town and showed us the best places to eat and shop.
