Organic Farming & Picnic for Families on Paros

While on Paros with kids, visit an organic farm, learn more about the natural farming methods, and get inspired by permaculture principles with hands-on activities and a family picnic with kids.

On the 5.6-acre Kamari Farm, you'll meet the owners, Stavros and Katerina. They built their dream of an organic farm, opening it to the public and sharing Paros' natural wealth while celebrating the Aegean ecosystem. The farm is home to about 700 trees growing olives, figs, pomegranates, almonds, carobs, acacias, lemons, quinces, and apricots. You'll also explore the 3,500 aromatic medicinal plants, including oregano, sage, rosemary, lavender, and sea fennel.

Kids love discovering the seasonal produce and wandering through the greenhouse, naming as many plants and vegetables as they can. But not much beats the worm farm and compost production site! After the tour, enjoy a refreshing drink at the farm kiosk, choosing from lemon juice, pomegranate juice, or souma (made with figs).

During the tasting, your family will learn how to plant seeds and participate in an herb contest. Next, you'll taste olives, fresh tomato paste, sea fennel pickle, olive oil, and more. Then, relax with warm slices of baked bread from a local bakery and cheese from Paros. For dessert, enjoy handmade Greek yogurt with sweet honey on top.
