Amerikalinjen, Oslo

Amerikalinjen was fantastic for our stay in Oslo. Its perfect location just across from the train station was such a convenience, making it easy for us older travelers. The accommodations were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, providing a wonderful start to each day.

Located right in the center of town, the hotel has a great history and character. Service was awesome, especially the bartender where you will have some amazing unusual cocktail!

On every level, this is a standout hotel! To start, it's located a short walk from the Central Train Station, making it convenient for travel to/from the airport and other Norwegian cities. The staff is exceptional - helpful, knowledgeable and fluent in English. When I told the front desk person that we had to leave early to catch the 5:40 am train to the airport, she said the hotel would prepare a takeout breakfast for us. That breakfast included juice, fruit, cookies, a veggie bagel for me and a smoked salmon bagel for my husband, utensils and napkins.

Our room had a comfortable king size bed and beautiful bathroom with large towels and bathrobes. As someone who has to go to the bathroom during the night, I so appreciated the light that goes on automatically under the sink. Breakfast is exceptional, with considerable variety and high quality choices. Lastly, we enjoyed drinks at the bar expertly prepared by a bartender who is actually a Greek doctor.

If you want a superbly staffed and located hotel in Oslo, look no further than the Amerikalinjen.

This hotel was so easy to get to from the train station and was super cute! The architecture and décor was great and the breakfast had a lot of variety and was very good. Of the 3 hotels we stayed in on our trip this was our favorite one. It was the nicest as well. This was the only hotel of the 3 that acknowledged our honeymoon and had laid out a cute fruit and chocolate plate with a very nice note!

Very well located, nice and clean

Outstanding hotel in a very convenient location across from the train station and within easy walking distance of the city harbor area. Staff was attentive and accommodating. The hotel was able to hold our luggage until checkin so we could begin exploring the city. When checkin was a bit delayed, we were given an upgraded room. The hotel was decorated with items reflecting the history of the American Line in Oslo. Comfortable beds! The sumptuous breakfast was a real treat. On the day we departed before the regular breakfast hours, we were offered a packed breakfast. The hotel bar was very stylish with unusual cocktails. We stayed here for a total of three nights; two as we arrived in Norway and the night before we departed.

This hotel is the best. It has everything to offer the traveler - central location, friendly staff, exceptionally clean rooms, gorgeous architecture and design, and off-the-charts breakfasts.
