Where To Go in Iceland: The Best Sights & Activities Region by Region
Don't just stick to the Golden Circle and South Coast. You may see some great sights, but you'll spend a lot of time in lines and waiting for people to get out of your pictures. To see a side of Iceland that fewer travelers see, spend some time in Snaefellsnes, the Westfjords, or the North of the country. You'll appreciate more of Iceland's beauty and culture than you can by sticking to the most-visited areas.
Trekking Off the Beaten Path in the Icelandic Highlands – 7 Days
The Icelandic Highlands are home to some of the most spectacular scenery and breathtaking landscapes on the planet. Trek the famous Laugavegur and Fimmvörðuháls trails, camp in the Valley of Thor, and walk through volcanic valleys and canyons on this epic week-long adventure.
Iceland Family-Friendly Winter Road Trip - 7 Days
This self-drive tour takes you along Iceland's south and west coasts for those in search of unique family adventure. After a day exploring the capital city, Reykjavik, you'll head west to the volcanic Snaefellsnes Peninsula, known as "Iceland in miniature" with a bit of everything (and a fraction of the crowds). You'll then continue to the more popular Golden Circle (Thingvellir, Geysir geothermal area, Gullfoss waterfall), and finish with two nights along the south coast discovering glaciers and black sand beaches.
Iceland's Western & Northern Highlights - 7 Days
On this scenic road trip, you'll skip Iceland's busier south coast in order to explore the lesser-known Snaefellsnes Peninsula and northern beauties of Akureyri, Husavik, and Lake Myvatn. This all-season itinerary is especially ideal for anyone interested in the unique geological features of Iceland, with lava fields, volcano hikes, massive waterfalls, and geothermal pools—all there for the taking.

The trip started with booking it through Gumi who was wonderful & easy to work with. I shared what we wanted to do & he provided all the details plus any thoughts on what else should be included or skipped for the specific time of year. The lagoons (hot springs!!), waterfalls, ice caves, iceberg. cold water snorkeling, coastal arches & food tour were all incredible. What a fabulous trip to be able to share with our daughter & son-in-law.
Thank you for the kind review Alyssa. I am so glad to hear you were happy with the trip :)
I do hope we'll see you all in Iceland soon again!
All the best
