Sara helped us plan a wonderful trip to Germany including stays in Cologne, Heidelberg and Munich. Every hotel was comfortable and conveniently located near the major attractions. The tours were informative, engaging, and a lot of fun. Sara took the time to understand our travel goals and created a personalized itinerary that exceeded our expectations. She was also readily available to help when we had some confusion with our train schedule, which gave us great peace of mind. We highly recommend KimKim to anyone looking for a well-organized personalized vacation experience.

Everything was very good, our tour guids were nice and transportation to the hotels and to the airport. One thing was a problem we might nedeed more assistance is rental car. It was advised to contact car company that did not work . The car was a little mess . No cameras or GPS were working. Anyway, i is not fault of Sara. She was amazing. Hotels choices and recommendations were excellent.

My sweet wife, Savannah, and I found our time in Germany and Austria to be truly memorable. Even with a few hiccups, such as canceled flights and lost luggage, the comfort and ease of KimKim's hotel and shuttle reservations helped us find stability throughout our trip. With all the hotel, attraction, and museum tickets, and even restaurant suggestions, we felt right at home navigating large cities like Berlin, Munich, and Vienna, as well as quaint towns like Wittenberg, Erfurt, and Rothenburg ob der Tauber. No matter where we were on our trip, we knew we could trust the local knowledge provided by our KimKim app.

Our visit to Wittenberg was a highlight, especially our tour with Mathias. He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastically shared each story from Martin Luther's life. As a member of the local church — the very one where Luther preached during his time there — Mathias provided us with a private tour. It was clear he loves his town and is proud of its history.

We had wonderful meals, especially in Rothenburg and Salzburg. Lots and lots of great beer was consumed. One can never go wrong ordering a helles at the local beer hall.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 'Sound of Music' bike tour with guide Chloe. It gave us an up-close experience of Salzburg, revealing its beauty. After the tour, we both agreed that Salzburg is the most incredible place we've ever visited. It combines a charming small-town atmosphere with lots of activities.

We highly recommend this service and will definitely use KimKim for our next trip abroad.

I thought a long time about this review. It was an absolutely awesome trip.
Berlin is the city of my heart. I did not want to leave. It is clean, safe, friendly, and beautiful. We did have to walk a LOT because our phones did not work outside the hotel. I had thought this would likely be the case but also thought there would be prepaid phone stores with travel phones. We never found those. Our amazing walking tour guide, Lee Evan, told us we could get a SIM at the O2 store in the subway. The SIMs don’t work with iPhones but one of us has a Samsung android. It was only data so gave us GPS but not the ability to call a taxi or verify a phone number to use a rideshare app. If we didn’t find anyone to call a cab we just walked. We did find a pharmacy and got Neurofen (ibuprofen) and a generic for Volteran pain creme to rub on our feet. The pharmacist was very helpful.
Dresden is pretty with amazing architecture.
We had a Prague 1 and Prague 2. Because we had to stay an extra night we got a different hotel on a different side of Prague and it was the Prague I had imagined.
To explain, and this has no impact on this review but when moving our luggage from Dresden to Prague I left a small bag on the train. It had my passport. I didn’t bring a purse or crossbody bag because I had heard thieves cut the strap and take them. (We had no encounters like that at all and lots of people carry crossbody bags there). I would suggest when moving luggage from place to place to use a crossbody bag or a waist pouch (bum bag or fanny pack depending on the country) for the passport so it isn’t part of the luggage you have to gather and always of course keep your drivers license and credit card in a small wallet in your front pocket like at home.
So Prague part 1. The lift at the Prague Season hotel wasn’t working so we had to take our luggage up five levels of stairs. They said it would be repaired that evening. It was not. That day was a one day heatwave. We went out anyway. The area was dirty and had graffiti. There were penis things just out in display windows. Penis candles, giant stuffed penis, little plastic figures having sex, and every marajuana themed thing you can imagine. We walked to the astronomical clock, took some pictures there but while we were waiting at the clock I started to get sick from the heat so we headed back to the hotel. By the time I got up five floors I was throwing up. Fortunately ONE of our rooms had air conditioning so we all went in there. I forget what activity we had because we had to cancel. We all spent the night in the room with air conditioning both nights we were there. We all thought we hated Prague.
The little village where the Sedlac Ossuary is located is cute. The person who really wanted to see the bone church was awestruck by it. I was enchanted by the village. It was much cooler that day and we spent a lot of time at the little cafe across from the church having lunch and drinks. None of us wanted to go back to Prague.
Prague part 2. The lift at the hotel did get fixed but even though we had to stay an extra day because of the passport issues we did not want to stay there! We got an air conditioned room at a hotel called The Golden Wheel. The area around there is everything we thought Prague would be! We nearly walked our feet off trying to see it all and at night there is a horror movie themed pub and a real goth bar. There was also an amazing music festival coming up but sadly, we had to go home. 😢

Valentine was absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish. From our very first Zoom call, she took the time to really understand our family dynamic what we enjoy, what we don’t, and how we like to travel. That level of care made a huge difference. She created a thoughtful and well-balanced itinerary that perfectly blended history, culture, and outdoor experiences across Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The initial plan was already great, and she was very flexible in helping us tweak a few things to better fit our needs. In the end, everything came together seamlessly.

Some highlights from our trip:
1. The Dachau Concentration Camp memorial visit was deeply moving and very well organized.
2. The Munich e-bike tour was a lot of fun and a great way to see the city especially it happened on Sunday which was a lot easier to navigate through than the other days.
3. Our private driver and guide Tom, who took us to Neuschwanstein Castle, was exceptional, he was not only knowledgeable but also very fun to be around, which made the entire day even more enjoyable.
4. Garmisch-Partenkirchen was stunning, and Hotel Zugspitze was excellent—especially the breakfast. The Zugspitze and the Partnach Gorge were unforgettable experiences
5. Our Nuremberg tour with Kevin was truly the most memorable—he made the day special for all of us

Every activity felt thoughtfully chosen for our family, and everything ran smoothly throughout the trip. We all had such a great time, and we are incredibly grateful to Valentine for selecting all the right experiences for us.

Visiting Zugspitze was an incredible experience. It was absolutely beautiful to be on top of the clouds—something we won’t forget. Our private tour from Munich to Neuschwanstein Castle was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything was smooth, well organized, and perfectly timed. Tom, our driver and guide, was exceptional—he was not only very knowledgeable but also incredibly fun to be around, which made the entire day even more enjoyable. He picked us up right on time and even messaged us on WhatsApp to let us know he was on his way, which we really appreciated. We arrived at the castle early, before it got too crowded, which made a big difference. Tom had all the tickets ready and guided us efficiently, even showing us a few shortcuts along the way. It made the whole experience feel easy and stress free. In addition to Neuschwanstein, Tom also took us to Linderhof and Ettal, which were beautiful and well worth the visit. He was also great at taking photos for us, making sure we captured some wonderful memories throughout the day. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and Tom truly made it special for us.

Best of Munich E-Bike Tour

The e-bike tour was a fantastic way to explore Munich and ended up being one of the most fun activities of our trip. Interestingly, we were included with a regular bicycle group instead of all e-bikes, but it wasn’t an issue at all. The group dynamic worked well, and everyone kept a comfortable pace, so we still really enjoyed the experience. Simon, our tour guide, was great—he kept the ride fun, engaging, and informative throughout. He did an excellent job balancing history with lighthearted moments, which made the tour enjoyable for everyone. The highlights for us were definitely the stop at the beer garden and seeing the river surfers, which added a unique and memorable touch to the experience. Overall, it was a fun, relaxed, and memorable way to see the city, and I would highly recommend it.

Our visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial was a deeply moving and meaningful experience. It’s truly a place that leaves a lasting impression. The tour guide was excellent—very knowledgeable, communicated clearly, and did a great job helping us navigate through the camp while sharing important historical context with sensitivity and respect. Having a good guide made a big difference in understanding the significance of the site. The only downside for me personally was the group size. With around 25 people, it felt a bit large at times, and I would have preferred a smaller group for a more personal experience. Overall, it was a powerful and well-organized tour, and I’m very glad we included it in our trip.

Amazing adaptability, catering and planning from our Kimkim specialist Lucie. Quick turnaround and really worked to ensure we got the itinerary we wanted. We didn't have a lot of guides on this one, but our private tour to Giethoorn was led by a champ. One of us was sick and he was very accommodating. Travel agent Valentine was very friendly, professional and accommodating.
All transfers/ car service were very punctual and professional. Stewart in Edinburgh provided us with nice commentary of the city on the way in from airport.
Circus Hotel in Berlin was very centrally located - close to public transportation, surrounded by many restaurants and within reasonable walking distance to many major sights. However, the staff was not as service oriented or attentive as expected. The included breakfast was average and the service below par. The room was clean and good sized, but a bit dark.
Hotel du Vin in Edinburgh was excellent! Very charming, clean, large room and very centrally located by the royal mile. The staff was great, very friendly, professional and service oriented. Ex. Our departure time was at 6am before restaurant was open so the reception person offered us coffee and the restaurant manager prepared a bag w freshly baked croissants n pain au chocolates to take on our ride to airport.
Tour guide in Berlin was very thorough, knowledgeable and a wealth of information- hit all the major sights in the city and gave us excellent historical information.
The 3 hr. tour in Potsdam was a waste of time- it tired us out - should not have requested the tour. our tour guide Alex, although friendly was boring and just talked for 3 hours. It would have been a better experience to walk through the charming city, maybe 1 hr, and proceed to the grounds of the Sans Soucis palace to explore the gardens and other buildings there. The palace tour was wonderful and we were glad to have tickets to that included visit to the whole venue.
Tour guide Kate in Edinburgh was excellent! She was friendly, had a wealth of historical and anecdotal knowledge of the city and thoroughly covered all major sights. Really enjoyed our 3 hours with her.
The Johnny Walker Whiskey and Chocolate experience was a lot of fun! My husband enjoyed the scotch tasting and I loved the chocolate! We enjoyed hearing about the history of the company and how whiskey is made. Had something to eat at the cafe at top of building which was delightful!

Clemens was very patient and helpful in the early planning which started with a trip during for Advent and Christmas Markets that ended up as an early spring trip to Munich, Leipzig, and Berlin while visiting our son who is attending University of Leipzig. The private tours and restaurant suggestions from Clemens worked out perfectly. Boris was an excellent guide and provided a private tour of Munich on our first full morning and then on a day trip to Neuschwanstein castle. The side trips to a small countryside village on the way and another visit to Oberammagau (where Boris selected a great lunch spot) were as enjoyable as the Castle visit. The plazas and market were full of life with a great mix of people, we felt like 3 nights in Munich was the perfect amount of time, and the City did not feel as big as we expected. The intercity train travel was planned perfectly by Clemens and the travel to Leipzig and then Berlin were enjoyable and scenic. Our stay in Leipzig was also outstanding, it felt like a smaller version of Munich, an old walled city, with great historic buildings, beautiful parks, and great energy and life-and fewer tourists. Our timing coincided with opening day at the local and historic Sheibenholtz horse racing track where we were able to secure a table for our family and spend a great afternoon with a big crowd! Two days in Berlin were barely enough to scratch the surface, but we had a great time putting the City transit pass to use travelling to a couple of different corners of the City including a trip to Sansoucci Palace in Potsdam-which is really more of a massive public park with multiple palaces, vineyards, and other interesting features-wish we had more time in both Berlin and Potsdam. Hotels and the included breakfast were all very good and well located. Our dinner for our last night at Katz Orange, recommended by Clemens was definitely a highlight. Somehow we were not aware of the great bakeries and cheese that were available everywhere and we enjoyed! We had excellent support from Clemens and team when we had some questions during the trip, and one small snafu when a local guide cancelled a tour last minute-it was very well handled by KimKim.

This hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. The front desk service and the breakfast quality and experience were top notch. The exterior and neighborhood are a bit cold and unwelcoming at first, but after a couple of days we realized that it is very well located with ez access to the train lines which is important in Berlin. The rooms were tight, and the lobby area was not comfortable. They do have what could be a very nice open air courtyard, but we found it a bit dirty and unattended by hotel staff-a potentially nice space that seems to be utilized as a place to smoke.

The location across from the main train station-which is undergrowing significant construction- was very convenient, but is in a bit of a gritty area (were were a bit surprised in general of the level of graffitti and litter in both Munich and Berlin.

From Munich: Neuschwanstein Castle Full-Day Trip

The drive through the countryside and side visits to a local villages were the best part. Boris seemed to specifically travel on secondary roads for a good portion of the trip. The trip to the castle itself was very good, but definitely touristy. I would still recommend it, but the side trips were essential, otherwise the 9 hour day is not worth it just to visit Neuschwanstein.

this was a walking tour, Boris asked us up front if we wanted it to be a loop back to the hotel, or pick a destination to end the tour at where we could ciontinue on our own, which is what we chose.

we have not used a travel agent/agency to plan a trip in the past and our experience with Valentine did not disappoint! Valentine did a fantastic job planning our trip - taking into account our preferences for hotels, tours, food, etc... she was easily able to pivot when we made some changes in our desired itinerary. Valentine has great attention to detail and the logistics were seamless. we had 1-2 questions while we were actually on the trip and got quick responses to our questions.

we spent 3 nights in Berlin and LOVED our private tours Caieren and Paul (one about WWII, other about Cold War). both guides were engaging and make our experience personal, we even stopped for coffee. The bunker story museum was also great. the DDR museum was a good experience. even though we had scheduled tours, we had enough downtime planned in that we were able to explore the city - we enjoyed the Disgusting Foods Musuem!

we spent 2 nights in Nuremberg - private Nazi grounds tour with guide, again, was great. we took a day trip to Rothenberg with a private guide, enjoyed the city and the tour - had a GREAT Italian meal. there is a LEGO store in the town that serves THE BEST coffee - tell Christian we sent you. again, we had some downtime, we rented Vag-Rad bikes and biked to Imperial Castle in Nuremberg

loved that our guides met us at the hotel, made it very easy.

we spent 2 nights in Munich - we did a group tour - did not love the group tour (25 people), we had been spoiled with the private tours. from Munich, we took group day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle. OMG!! you must hike to Mary's Bridge for the view of the castle - hike is steep but, short and totally doable - don't take the horses or bus straight to the castle, you will miss Mary's Bridge. the company that organized the tour was good, professional and kept things running smoothly. bus was comfortable.

cannot wait to use Valentine again! highly recommend. easy planning and great trip!

Pros: Good location. A short walk from the train station. Town is easily accessible through a nearby parking garage elevator next door to the property. Cons: Staff when we arrived was less than friendly. We arrived prior to check in and assisting us felt like an annoyance. Room was warm. Air conditioning did not work. Breakfast was included but underwhelming - cold cuts a bit discolored (as though they had been out the day prior).

Mathilde planned a wonderful trip for our family. The variety of tours was perfect. We especially liked our food tour in Munich as it wasn’t just focused on Bavarian food, but also other international flavors which have been adopted into the culture.

The hotels were in perfect locations for walking to all the important sites.

There really isn’t anything she could have done to improve our experience. Thank you.

I do have one suggestion for KimKim though. I would wait a few days after our trip to ask for a review, as sending the email while still on vacation spoils the last day. We are not done yet. Thank you.

Hugo curated our perfect Bavarian adventure! It started in historic Munich where Hugo provided us with an amazing tour guide, Yves. This private tour was intimate, educational and above all, fascinating. Hugo planned exceptional dinners each night. He also arranged our private transfer to the ski resort, Kitzbuhel. Our time in Kitzbuhel was complete with mountain lunch dining with breath taking views of the alps. After our ski adventure, Hugo planned our final destination, Salzburg. The 5 start hotel, city tours, dining experiences were exceptional. In addition, Hugo was accessible 24/7. We truly appreciated that he was just a text away whenever we had a question. Hugo went above and beyond for us. His kind and upbeat demeanor was a joy to work with. We will never forget our time in Bavaria. Thank you Hugo!

Our trip to Munich and Salzburg was AMAZING!! So festive and gorgeous....the Christmas Markets were magical and the tour guides were fantastic!
Two major hi lights were the Sound of Music Tour, and the private Tour to Neuschwanstein Castle on our last day. Our wonderful and enthusiastic guide was David! We spent all day with David and it was a delightful time...he was so personable and funny, surprised us with coffee and the most deletable "donuts" and kept us entertained the entire day. I would book another tour with David in a heartbeat.
Fritz was amazing as well...added so much to our tour to "Silent Night" and was a joy to be with.
We are still talking about our AMAZING Christmas and looking at pictures a lot. Gorgeous countries!

Lucie did an amazing job planning our visit to Germany. She was able to incorporate our interests and a pre-scheduled event into our itinerary. The Platzl hotel in Munich was perfectly located and the accommodations and staff were fantastic. We did a tour of Dachau with our guide Haim. He did a great job informing us and keeping our small group together. Lucie arranged for a rental car in Munich and we drove to the AMERON Neuschwanstein Alpsee Resort & Spa in Hohenschwangau, Schwangua. Home to both the Neuschwanstein Castle and the Hohenschwangau Castle. Both are stunning.
The next day we visited the Top of Germany, Zugspitze. The cogwheel train up and the cable car down were part of the adventure. After coming off the mountain, we drove to the Linderhof Royal Palace. We enjoyed our walk, but due to the time of year, most areas weren’t open. It does look to be spectacular in the summer when the gardens are open. Still happy we went. Lucie was terrific in answering my questions about this day. We then drove back to Munich and took the train to Berlin. Appreciated the great seats Lucie has reserved for us. The first evening in Berlin was our pre-scheduled event. The following day, we had an amazing Jewish History tour led by Ronen. He was fantastic! After the tour we decided to walk to our appointed time at the Jewish Museum. We found a great place to eat and interesting sights along the way. The museum is a treasure. The next day Lucie had arranged for us to be picked up and driven to the airport. The drivers for not airport rides were wonderful! Can’t recommend the Kim Kim planning and specifically Lucie enough. She planned a dream vacation for us!!
