What a great adventure! Lucie planned the perfect Bavaria road trip. We experienced Eagles Nest, Zugspitze and a couple castles. The hotels were clean and comfortable. The documents center at Eagles Nest was very interesting way to learn the history.
We toured the Porsche factory and museum, this was probably my favorite part of the trip.
It took a minute to understand the app but once I figured it out I was pleasantly surprised how well organized it made the trip.

Wonderful trip! Everything was handled expertly by Mathilda! Our guides in Nuremberg, Justina, and Munich, Renata, were absolutely fantastic. We had a fantastic time, enjoyed every place we visited. Hotels and arrangements were hassle free. Overall beautiful and care free experience. Will most assuredly do again!!

Our trip to Germany was very educational. We visited Berlin, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Nuremberg, Munich, and
Wiesbaden. We also went to the Dachau concentration camp.

The food tour guide in Berlin, Anna, was simply excellent. She chose simple but delicious foods such as currywurst and doner kebabs that had a particular meaning to Berlin. She also provided historical information as we walked from location to location that were meaningful and educational.

Max, Niklas, Amir, and Connie were also very good and knowledgeable guides. We learned a lot from all of them. Amir was particularly accommodating as well as being a good driver.

we had an amazing trip. There were a few glitches (car rental agency requiring passport to rent that we didn't have on us) but a call to Mathilde helped straighten everything out. The other problem is the date we wanted to go to the Ann Frank house they were doing some maintenance, so we rescheduled for the day we got back to Amsterdam. Unfortunately that day we were exhausted from traveling by train and didn't go and we were told the tickets we unrefundable, so that was upsetting. The tours we had were amazing with wonderful guides. I cannot remember the name in Haarlem, but we had Charles in Brussels, Flak in Cologne, Jeremy for Neuschwanstein, Agatha in Salzbourg and Mamon in Strasbourg. We had a guide for Dachau whose name started with an A too. All were outstanding!!!! I do need to contact Mathilde as we are supposed to get a partial refund for car rental that has not yet appeared.
Mathilde was extrememely easy to work with and very responsive to all my questions and needs. I would not hesitate to recommend KimKim to everyone I know, and I would certainly use again!

Our guide, I think his name was Achim was great. There was a lot to cover and sometimes he moved a little fast but all in all I would not hesitate to recommend him. He gave us so much information, I thought I knew a bit on the subject of concentration camps but there was much I didn't know. The day was very warm and we were in the sun a lot so that was a bit uncomfortable, but you can't control the weather. I felt that Achim was passionate about the subject and wanted us to learn as much as we could. I highly recommend!

Our guide (I forgot her name) was really good and passionate about Oktoberfest, We learned the history behind it and how the festival has evolved over the years. We also learned how they get ready for the fest and about the buildings they put up and take down every year. The tent experience itself was less than perfect. It was 84 degrees when we were there and we were packed in like sardines. I saw other areas in the tent that people were not that crowded in that looked much more comfortable. This is not the guides fault, it is the tour company that has an area they are putting us in. It was so hot and crowded at our table it was hard to enjoy yourself. After our chicken (which was delicious) we left and went to another tent by ourselves that was much more comfortable and the tables not as crowded.

It was a pleasant bus ride out there and our guide Jeremy was very informative and fun. We had some time before and after the castle tour to get something to eat and shop. Upon Jeremy's advise we took the tram instead of walking the whole way and were glad we did. Even taking the tram you are doing a lot of uphill and downhill walking. And in the castle you are going up and down circular staircases.

Working with Lucie and KimKim resulted in a trip that was the best experience imagineable for my daughter and I. I explained what I was looking for in a vacation in Germany and what I wanted was not a simple off-the-shelf tour. My vacation involved a combination of an initial trip to Munich followed by a tour of the Bavarian countryside and southwestern Germany that my daughter and I will never forget. Our experience kicked off with a tour of Nymphenburg Palace and and the Old Central city center of Munich. This was followed the next day by a tour of the historic Dachau Concentration Camp that is not to be missed. The last day included a guided tour of Oktoberfest with a genuine tent experience including ready-made friends together with food and drink. PROST! The guides for Oktoberfest and Dachau were arranged by KimKim with a knowledgeable family-owned tour company that was perfectly situated close to our hotel. They were wonderful. After Munich we were off on a cross country tour via rental car arranged by Lucie of various castles, palaces and historic sites across Bavaria and the foothills of the German Alps. Along the way, tours of various castles and palaces were arranged including Linderhof Palace, Neuschwanstein Castle, Lichtenstein Castle and the hilltop castle Hohenzollern were arranged. We even managed to throw in a tour of Hohenschwangau Castle that was not in our itinerary but the ample time provided in our schedule allowed. All of these planned excursions were situated close to charming towns like Fussen and Tubingen where wonderful hotels were booked by KimKim along the way. After a full but unrushed tour shedule each day, Lucie provided recommendations for great restaurants and shopping locations near our hotel to unwind and have a relaxing tasty meal. Where possible details such as tickets were arranged by Lucie and KimKim in advance, and where this was not possible, they provided detailed instructions on how to secure entry to everything we wanted to see. The German part of our trip ended with a drive through the Black Forest for a short stay at the spa town of BadenBaden and then down the length of the lovely hills of the Black Forest to the scenic Triberg Falls. There I couldn't resist purchasing a cuckoo clock at one of the many local shops that still make and sell these mechanical marvels. Finally, we were off by train with tickets arranged by Lucie and KimKim to Zurich for the final leg of our journey. After a short train ride, we were off for a tour of the city followed the next day by a trip for a tour of a beautiful small vineyard and wine tasting at Rapperswil on Lake Zurich and reservations for a delicious lunch at a restaurant overlooking the lake. I cannot truly say enough about how Lucie and KimKim made this once in a lifetime trip for me and my daughter an everlasting memory that we will always cherish. I highly recommend using KimKiim to take care of the details of any dream vacation that you wish to arrange.

Overall, we had very good guides while in Germany. Our tour guides for Dachau and Neuschwanstein Castle were both excellent, as was Marta our food guide while in Berlin.

While it was awesome getting to visit Allianz Arena, listening to an English audio tour while moving around with a tour group being led in German was less enjoyable. While the audio tour was informational, we were unable to interact with the overall tour group and tour guide, especially when she posed questions to the group.

Overall, as a family, we all really enjoyed our time in Munich, and in hindsight, wish we had stayed there an additional day.

All went well with the taxi service provided and the train tickets that were purchased. Getting a taxi (too few uber drivers available) from the Dresden train station was very difficult, and we ended up walking to out hotel, not a huge issue, more just a personal inconvenience as the handle on my luggage had broken. We had an issue with our Elba river cruise, resulting in us taking a much shorter cruise (1 hour) so I think we missed out on seeing and learning more about this city, making it the kids' least favorite city of our trip.

The pacing of our time in Berlin was much slower than the previous two cities, which I think the kids appreciated, as it gave them more down time to recover between activities. Our first walking tour was VERY long (scheduled for 3.5 hours). Kids made it for about 2.5 and luckily our tour guide shortened it at that point. Arriving on a Sunday, I wish we had known that the art market was only open during the weekend. We passed it in the distance on the walking tour but did not have a chance then to return and actually go through it.

We only went to the Berlin Story Museum while in Berlin (wish we had also done Checkpoint Charlie). The museum itself was very interesting and both kids seemed to really take in all of the information there without rushing through it.

All three hotels were located in easily accessible areas (walking in Munich, taking the various subways in Berlin) and provided good breakfast options. None had particularly effective AC systems, but that was more a complaint of my American teenage son. We lucked out with weather that was usually in the mid-60's by evening, so it was never so hot that we all felt the "need" for air conditioning.

Overall, both kids said their favorite days were the ones spent at Neuschwanstein Castle and in Potsdam exploring the town and the palace.

Sadly this experience was underwhelming. We were part of a VERY large group (14 people). Though we circled Victoria Market, we didn't visit any of the stalls, which was a disappointment. While I understand that one can only visit locations when they are open, we ended up having a large "snack" first, then dessert, then the after dinner drink, and then the sit down dinner, so everything was out of order. I appreciated the guides "want not, waste not" mentality. At each stop, he asked if everyone wanted their own serving (ex. a whole sandwich?) or if they wanted to share with a family member. This was great in that food was not unnecessarily wasted, but is also means that we paid for a tour for three people and never ate three people's worth of food (two sandwiches, two desserts, two drinks, one final meal).

Be aware this is a LONG full walking. While our guide was great in shortening it towards the end (3 hour walking tour was too much upon arrival for my two teenagers), it is a lot of walking and standing. It did help that it was a private tour and we were able to do this. It did, however, give us a better idea of the layout of the central part of the city and gave us context for many of the buildings and architecture that we would not have gotten on our own.

We started planning our trip to Germany just 1.5 months before our departure, and having Elsa’s help was an absolute lifesaver! Yes, using a service like this means you pay a bit more, but it is a massive stress saver and totally worth the price. It saved us from the headache of researching and booking tickets across countless different merchants under time constraints—especially for highly sought-after attractions like the Neuschwanstein Castle.

From the very beginning, Elsa was great. She took the time to incorporate all of our feedback into a wonderful, truly customized itinerary just for us. She was also very patient answering my many questions and explained everything in detail. When our Rhine River cruise was canceled due to low water levels, she quickly came up with excellent alternative options and seamlessly pivoted our plans to a wonderful small group day trip to Heidelberg instead.

We also had great experiences with a few guides she booked for us. Manu, our river guide for the punt boat experience in Tübingen, was super fun and a pleasure to work with. Shpendi, our guide for the Neuschwanstein Castle, was incredible—he was highly knowledgeable and had great connections that made our visit perfectly smooth.

As a huge bonus, Elsa booked us into the Scandic Hotel in Frankfurt, which was beyond wonderful. It was so great that Scandic will now be our default hotel choice for any future destination that has one! If you want a stress-free, nicely curated trip to Germany, I highly recommend working with Elsa.

Considering the high quality of the room and the amenities, we felt the price was very reasonable. The breakfast was beyond amazing and became a highlight of our mornings. We absolutely loved every minute of our stay here. In fact, this experience was so incredible that Scandic will now be our default hotel choice for any future travels to destinations that have one. Manu, our river guide for the punt boat in Tübingen, was super fun and a joy to work with. The boat ride was so enjoyable and the town was beautiful!

Navigating the transit from Frankfurt was a bit tricky. Our route required taking a regional replacement bus, but the instructions on how it worked and where to locate the stops were quite confusing. Unfortunately, we struggled to find the boarding area in time and ended up missing our planned bus, but thankfully, the next bus got us to our destination on time.

The trip was wonderful. You did an excellent job finding the highlights for us. The hotels were well located and very comfortable. The only comment on the hotels was Berlin . While the location was great, it was not air condidtioned and the room was very small. All the other hotels were perfect.

The guides were knowledgeable and gave us a great overview of the places we visited. They took special requests and always worked with us. The only guide that we were not overly impressed with was the guide in Salzburg. While he was certainly knowledgeable, he walked was ahead of us and it was hard to connect with him. All the others receive 5 stars from us.

The restaurant suggestions were great. You gave us a large choice and we enjoyed them. We eat out quite a bit so this is something we are fairly picky about and we have no complaints. Only that we need to diet now as we seemed to stop at a gelato shop everyday.

Sara - you were responsive both during the planning and while we were traveling and that is so appreciated. We couldn't have asked for a better tour arranger.

Wanted to let you know that we added the suspension bridge in Todnot to our day in the Black Forest and I highly recommend that for others. What a view!

Lucie was incredible! From start to finish she listened, planned, reworked and was just amazing! She included everything we wanted, selected lovely places for us to stay, made sure the trip went smoothly with a rental car, and gave helpful tips to us. When we added or subtracted things mid- planning she didn’t hesitate! She reworked our itinerary so quickly! I cannot say enough about how kind funny and professional Lucie was. We are planning our next trip in 2027 and will be asking for Lucie specifically! Thank you so much for planning our One of a Kind Grimm Faery Tale Trail Adventure! It was magical!

Lucie made planning this trip so easy! She was very good at getting back to me promptly with a proposed trip and then was great to deal with when making modifications to it to create the perfect plan. She did a wonderful job organizing all the car, hotels, and excursions and made it very easy for us and had a lot of great suggestions. When we had an issue or two on the trip (eg one hotel wanted to charge me again for the room), she was very helpful and got them resolved. We had an amazing time and I'll definitely look to use Kimkim again!

Very friendly, but the entrance was a little hard to find and there is no proper reception area.

I couldn't figure out the room cooling system - involved having to have switches in the right place and multiple remote controls. The accessible shower was weird too and my kids got water everywhere that I cleaned up each time.

This place was really neat! I was our own little apartment with a balcony right on the main street. We loved it! Getting in though was a bit complicated because no one was at the desk when we arrived at 6:30pm even though it was supposed to be staffed until 7pm. But once I figured out how to contact someone, the key was available in a lock box.

This was a neat old building in a quiet part of town that was still easily accessible to the main sites. Driving to it though was quite a challenge through the many small pedestrian streets!

The hotel was fine, but it was more like a destination resort where companies go to have big meetings and not near much. The room was a bit dated and had a funny smell.

The spa entry was nice, but the inside of the hotel was ordinary and even a bit dated.
