Mar did a wonderful job of mapping out an itinerary that included the highlights of Norway that we wanted to see. We were able to use public transportation to get around and all the tickets for our major travels were provided ahead of time. Even when we had a hiccup (my fault) on the train journey from Oslo to Bergin, we were able to reach Julia (the emergency contact) and get things straightened out quickly.

All our hotels were within easy walking distance of public transportation and convenient to restaurants and major sights.

We really enjoyed the walking tour of Bergen with Magda as our guide. We saw back streets of Bergen and learned some history of this beautiful city. The highlight for my husband and son was the RIB boat safari in Flam exploring the Aurlandsfjord and Naeroyfjord, including the cheese tasting. I really liked the cider tasting and lunch in Balestrand, delightful!

We spent a lot of time on ferries and trains which is a relaxing way to travel. However, I did hope we would have had more time to do some hiking while in the smaller communities. I guess we should have scheduled a longer visit!

The old part of the hotel is a slice of the local history not to be missed. The views from the dining room are terrific, and make sure to make time to see the artwork, artisan pieces and historical references in the halls connecting to the main dining room.

We are referring to the original building. We stayed in the newer 60's add on. It is well integrated, but lacks any of the charm and character of the original building. The room was fine, nothing to complain about, but not the original experience.

We really enjoyed getting off the beaten paths and seeing some of the neighborhoods just a few hundred yards from the harbor. Magda answered all of our questions and provided great context.

Summer Fjord RIB Safari & Undredal Cheese Tasting

It was great to get down to sea level and ride in a fast boat in the fjord. They provided and insisted we gear up for the temperature changes we did encounter on the ride. The guide was very knowledgeable and personable and spent time going over all the safety features built into the boat, communications, the gear we were wearing. The perspective from these relatively small boats cannot be duplicated on the large commercial craft nor the ability to interact and get one on one questions and answers from a well informed guide. The goat cheese tastings was a delight. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed the flavors and textures of this local delicacy.

Viking Day in Gudvangen

We thought this might be a little too artificial since it is a recreation of Norse/Viking life. However, the experience was positive due to the factual, accurate information provided by the guides in the village. Seeing and getting explanations of the Viking ships, weapons and armor helps understand the Viking Age. The blacksmith and his explanations of how things were done is not to be missed.

Riding the electric ferry is reason enough to do this cruise. You also get to experience some of the most vertical mountains and fjords you will see in Norway. Get close enough to waterfalls to hear the roar and feel the spray.

Day trip to Fjærland

A boat ride into the small, charming town of Fjaerland is followed by a short bus ride to the glacier museum. The museum is small, but well designed and packed with interesting facts and exhibits. The highlight is a very short, well-done wide screen movie. After reboarding the bus you are dropped off a short walk to the base of a massive glacier. It is supposed to be the largest in Europe and one of only three that is expected to survive into the next century.

Mathia did a wonderful job putting together an itinerary for our family. We had a fantastic vacation.
He was flexible and listened to our wishes. We wanted to incorporate some hikes and experience as much as possible the beautiful country .
Until a month before departure we were not sure how many travelers were going to be able to join and Mathia was flexible with booking the accommodations.
We did a 6 nights trip going from Stavanger , Bergen, Flam and Oslo. The hotels choices were great conveniently located short walking distance to the center.
The top 2 attractions of our trip were the hike to attain Pulpit Rock and our stay at Flam.

The trip is wonderful, the hotels are very local and unique.
Mar is very nice in helping out with all the questions, it made my trip planning a lot easier.

We had a good combination of driving, cruise, train, get to see many different areas of Norway.

This was the first time I’ve used a planning service, and couldn’t have been happier with the results! The plan covered so much of southern Norway in a short period, I never would have accomplished as much on my own. Even packing so much in, we never felt rushed or overwhelmed. Our dinner at Cornelius in Bergen, the private sauna in Flåm, and the Amerikalinjen Hotel in Oslo were highlights that the KimKim team added to our adventure. We had a fantastic time in Norway! The itinerary suggested by kimkim was terrific and filled with hidden gems that we otherwise would not have discovered (walking tour of Bergen, floating sauna in Flam, 5-course seafood dinner at Cornelius, Norway in a Nutshell, restaurant suggestions, the list goes on). Our guide Christina was amazing! She made sure we knew what to do every step of the way and answered all of our questions in a timely fashion. However, our favorite was the focaccia bread and the mashed potatoes; we liked them so much that we got a larger portion for dessert than we had on our tasting meal. We had an incredible trip. Tricia was very helpful during the planning process, incorporating our wishes and adding suggestions to create a fantastic and sometimes complicated itinerary tailored for us. She was patient during a lot of back-and-forth and was able to pivot when we made adjustments before our departure. On the actual trip, we were always well informed on where to be and what was next. For one exception — during one day's confusion about a booking confirmation — Tricia was very responsive on her day off, helping us get things sorted out.

We were able to pack a lot (but not TOO much) into a 9-day trip, and would absolutely recommend KimKim and Tricia to anyone planning a trip to Norway.

Our trip was a blast; my partner and I had a great time. Flam was one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. The Viking Village was a blast and very educational.

If we could have changed something, it would have been to fly out of Bergen instead of taking an 8-hour train ride the day before when we had to take a 12-hour plane flight. If we visit again, we would love to cruise to all the sites instead of using so much land transportation. While it was beautiful to travel by train and bus, it took up a lot of time.

Mar did an amazing job setting up the lodging, transportation and activities for our dream anniversary trip. She took into account all of the things we love to do and see. The hotels were spot-on both in amenities and location. The transportation was smooth and seamless. One of our favorite activities was the private floating fjord sauna experience in Fläm! Absolutely envigorating!! The details worked out by Fenne were also seamless. We never felt stressed or worried about where to be or how to get there. We had one glitch in that a gondola was not running on the day we had tickets for it. A quick message to the local expert, Julia, via What’sap assured us we would receive a refund and that we could continue on to our next location earlier without having to wait out the 5 hours that had been allotted in our travel for the gondola trip and area sightseeing. It actually gave us more time to explore Bergen on a rain-free afternoon that was perfect. All communication throughout the process was very timely and very clear.

A unique lodging experience. The Viking rooms are filled with handmade wooden furniture made locally and have skylights with views of the surrounding waterfalls and mountains. Very spacious, although a little worn. At low/early season we basically had the place to ourselves. So much so that they started the fire in the lodge just for us and we enjoyed a bottle of wine in front of the fire watching the rainfall one evening all by ourselves.

Such an amazing experience! The sauna looked directly into the fjord. We listened to music, soaked in the sauna at 175 F (79C) and plunged in the fjord at 40 F (4C). It was incredibly invigorating! Very clean and well maintained with friendly, helpful staff.

Great service and a brilliant holiday. It was self guided but useful to have Christina and the team on hand to clarify any doubts during the trip. Highlights were dog sledding in Røros, being in Bergen and Flåm, but all of it worked well for me and my family (7 and 8yo daughters).

Trip was amazing! Kimkim offered multiple selections for any easy-going-relaxef vacation. Fantastic experience wit Kimkim.

Our travel specialists, Julia and Fenne, were great. They provided a perfect trip that met all of our desires for one week in Norway. Hotel selection and convenience to train stations and activities was well thought out. All of the activities they had planned, cruises on fiords, train rides and the food and culture city walk in Bergen were all great. Will definitely be using kimkim again. Told locals about what kimkim can do for them in planning trips! Keep up the good work!

Epic road trip, 4275KM from Oslo to Bodo. Mathia was very enthusiastic in the planning phase and very amenble to changing plans as the inital plan had far less driving but we were keen to see as much of Norway as possible and our kids travel well. First hotel and car hire were a short walk from the station so very convenient. Thon Opera let us check in early so we had a great day (in sun) exploring Oslo. Car hire was all organised by Mathia. Two nights in a fishing cabin in Aurland and the scenery was spectacular. Vking village was much better than I was expecting as did not feel like a tourist trap 'gimmicky show' but a village occupied by people clearly knowlegable and enthusiastic about Vikings! The cruise was also great and very cold! Then onto Loen. Accommodation was the most basic I think we had but was ok. We eat at the top pf the mountain in the restuarant. Views were incredible, ambience great (Very very quiet as we were out of season) and the food great. Onto Alesund and the best hotel we stayed at Brosundet. Lovely walk up to the viewing platform overlooking the city. If the sauna had been operational the morning we were due to leave that would have been perfect! Then onto Andalsnes and a hotel with great views. Another fantastic meal on top of the mountain with excellent food. Then onto Trondheim. Hotel had been awarded the best breakfast in Norway for multiple years in a row and it was very good! Trondheim woudl have been better in sunshine but it was grey, raining and cold but we found a great coffee (Norway seems a tricky place if you love your coffee!!) Then a very long drive up to Bronnoysund which was very beautiful. The hut we stayed in was good and overlooked a fishing farm and we had two nights here. We were able to hike through the hole in the mountain which was closed for work but the workmen let us through! Another advantage of being out of season! That day was very sunny and ended with an amazing sunset and the Northern Lights! The final longest drive was up to Bodo. We passed into the arctic circle, the landscapes were varied and beautiful. The arctic cafe was closed (Again out of season!) and the final accomodation was ok but we were again in rain and cold with no views of the spectacular scenery. Last day we flew back to Oslo and had a great day in the sun lazing in Olivia's, the italian restaurant on the dock. It was a perfectly organised trip and although this length of driving is not for everyone we cetainly enjoyed it. Mathia was in contact throughout, offering suggestions. 10/10 for enthusiasm. Thanks!

Our trip to Norway exceeded all our expectations! Mathia was great to work with, from working out our itinerary and throughout our trip! We spent the first night in Oslo and explored the city for a day, then flew to Narvik and were able to witness the northern lights twice!! Our snowshoeing adventure was beautiful, and our guide Hakon was wonderful! We also really enjoyed our dogsledding trip. Next we went to Tromso, where we visited Polaria, went on a fjord cruise, and then visited the Sami reindeer farm, where we fed the reindeer and slept overnight in a lavvu. Norway is a beautiful country, and March was a great time to visit.

Even though we did not travel in the summer, and there was a bit of snow, we really had a great time, and actually enjoyed seeing the white tops on the mountains.
The proposed itinerary was a good match to our preferences.
The guide to Preikestolen, Terry, was great. Overall, we really enjoyed the balance between boat trips and the walks in the nature.

Mar and Fenne’s suggestions of places were amazing and fitted in with what we wanted. Everything they booked ran smoothly, and when one thing was closed, they were swift in arranging a refund for that activity.

Everything went as planned! The organization was excellent and Christina and her colleagues have been always available to assist us during the trip. The local operators have been super nice and professional. The only thing we did not understand was that the Safari in Senja was going to be changed with another northern lights tour during the night. However, we will choose KimKim again!

They kept us apprised of trains not running and all the quirkiness that happens in Norway during Easter Week! Our time in the Lyngen Alps specifically at Lyngen North (in our glass igloo) was a highlight along with our Dog sledding experience at Riverland Husky and seeing the northern lights while there. The entire country is beautiful and the people too. We will be back!
