Amazing trip organized to Norway by KimKim. Especially Kadri who did an amazing job coordinating the trip. Everything was excellent (locations, hotels chosen, etc). Communication was great.

The Alesund area or the Romsdal region is one of the most beautiful areas in the world. The hiking, biking, sightseeing is like no other. Very easy to drive. Ferry system is seamless. The safest region I have visited in the world. Friendliest people. Visited in early summer with very little rain and 18 hours of sunlight. Temperature averages around 50 degrees which is fine for activities.

Very very highly recommended to schedule trip with KimKim to the Romsdal region.

Katie was excellent in recommending where to go - we enjoyed the locations and the hotel picks and would recommend working with her.

My daughter and I traveled to Denmark and Norway to celebrate my 75th birthday. We started the trip in Copenhagen and ended in Oslo so we had city experiences on both ends. In between, we explored Bergen and Flam, enjoyed outdoor activities and spectacular landscapes. All the hotels were excellent choices and we used public transport to an from airports, except on the last morning when an early taxi took us to airport with our bags.

Having never been to either country, we relied on Kadri to arrange the itinerary and special excursions. She was incredibly attuned to our interests. Our Huggae tour in Copenhagen was a wonderful introduction and we enjoyed the guided bike food tour as well. We had plenty of time to explore museums and arrange delicious dinners--what a special food scene. I arranged the "scaffolding of the trip" and my daughter did extensive research on museums and restaurants. We especially loved the Louisiana modern art museum a little ways out of town.

Bergen is a special place and our hotel was located in the heart of the Unesco area. The ferry on the fjord to Cornelius restaurant was such a special experience that Kadri arranged for us, and we enjoyed meeting the owner, Oyster Dundee, and his stories about the film, The Menu, inspired by the writers dinner there. Kayaking was a highlight and our guide was wonderful. While expecting rain, I think we brought the California sunshine with us and had perfect weather the entire trip. Norway in a Nutshell travel from Bergen to Flam is not to be missed and we especially loved the ferry on the fjords--what a blissful sail on the upper deck.

Flam was super fun, we hiked on our own the first day and enjoyed a guided hike the next day. Cycling along the fjords is majestic. Thankfully, we were leaving Flam the day the big cruise ship pulled in, not sure how Kadri arranged that or if it was coincidence but it worked for us.

Our final stop was Oslo, with lots of walking, shopping, eating and museums. Outdoor sculpture park, the Folk Museum (not to be missed) and the Munch museum were all easily accessible--public transport in Oslo is wonderful and easy to navigate, but we also walked a lot which allowed us to see lots of details. On our final day, we booked a floating sauna on the fjord which was so much fun.

All of our planning and questions were handled very well snd quickly by Karri and the team. Arrival in Oslo was seamless. Hotels, all were of very good quality and location for our activities. Train and ferry tickets issued under one bar code did 6 people certainly simplified our travelling.

Overall we had a great experience from start to finish

Felt a bit rushed between the ferry landing, catching her bus to the interpretation centre, viewing the centre and then going on to the glacier. More timdd ed in the interpretation centre would have been good. Didn’t get to see the exhibits, watch the videos and grab some lunch without feeling rushed. Add 20 - 30 minutes to this portion of the trip

Overall great trip to Norway! Tom was really great to work with, responsive and helpful with all of my questions and changes regarding the planning process. Our trip went smoothly and we really enjoyed our time. There were a few things that were slightly underwhelming that I would maybe change or want others to be aware of.

1. The Wangen Apartments in Aurland had a LOT of construction. They were paving some areas and it smelt of hot asphalt when we pulled up to the hotel so it was very off putting right from the start. I was not made aware that there was any construction going on. There was no lobby since everything was under construction. The view from the room was phenomenal, but the rooms were tiny! It would be ok for 2 people but for a family of 4 you absolutely need more space. The bedroom was extremely small no room to even walk around the bed. The mattress pads (not even a normal mattress) would slip off the bed and you could not open/close the bedroom door it was so small. The black out shades in the bedroom had huge spaces around the edges and light shown right into your eyes. There was no air or AC and it felt very hot and stuffy at times. Living rooms had no blackout shades so children sleeping on the pull out couch had a very hard time falling asleep at night. No closet or room for any luggage. Bedding felt cheap and scratchy. Overall this hotel was a disappointment and felt more budget level. I might stay here again because the view was so good, but I would wait until construction is done and I would get a much bigger room!

2. While the lunch at Mt. Ulriken was nice, I didn’t think it was a very good child friendly space, and should not be recommended for small children. It’s a very slow 3course meal and they were very slow between courses. I would only recommend this for adults. We also went to Floyen which was not recommended by Tom, but should have been as it was much better for kids since there are fantastic parks and lots to do!

Everything was meticulously planned and easy to execute. We did not need to reach out to kadri as the itinerary, tickets etc. were very easy to understand and use. Hotels were in great locations. Having one ticket for 6 people made our life easier. Norway is a stunning country. So glad we saw it.

Great breakfast and location. We had a really hot room on the 3rd floor over top of a courtyard where garbage was actively put out multiple times until 2:30am making it hard to sleep. Rooms did not have basic amenities such as anywhere off the floor to put your luggage eg rack or bench. No facial tissues in the rooms and no hair conditioner or body lotion, and only one hanger. Really chintzy. First and last time I’ll stay at a Scandic hotel.

The hotel was nice, although we might have wished for a bit grander experience since we don't travel often. The day trip to Rosendal was quite beautiful, especially the hike up to the waterfall, but it did end up being a bit long. While the experience itself was lovely, it left us feeling like we missed out on exploring more of Bergen. If there were more time to spend in Bergen, it could have been a great additional activity.

We had a very good time in Norway. Ethel and Jacob worked with us and delivered a very well planned vacation. We had no issues with any of the reservations.

While planning our Norway trip there were a few things we knew we’d like to do but decided we could use knowledgeable assistance for the details on hotels, in country travel, airport transportation, etc as well as other ideas on what to include.

I’d read about KimKim and contacted them just to see what it was all about. I was connected with Alex, a country specialist. He laid out a proposed itinerary based on our input that we could change however we liked. We found the cost to be reasonable and well worth it. Everything was booked and paid for before we started, which was a pleasure. We travelled three times between cities (air and train) and airport transportation were was waiting for us each time. Except for things we did on our own all events were set, we just needed to show up. We stayed in 4 hotels, all were perfect and wonderfully located. Alex and Nick explained how things work in Norway such as paying for things, making connections, directions and time from hotel to boat, etc. Alex’s personal experience with Norway and some of what we did was invaluable (eg “consider doing the hike in Rosendal to the waterfall, and bring swim stuff! (he had done this).

I am certain if I had planned this out myself we would not have had the wonderful ten days we had in Norway. One example, we wanted to be in Oslo for Norway’s Constitution Day celebration and Alex put us in a nice hotel directly on the parade route; I would not have thought to do that.

Our stay here included Constitution Day. The KimKim team recommended this hotel as it was in the middle of the festivities and directly on the parade route, which was fantastic. They also requested our room to be in the back of the hotel since the celebrating goes into the night and we had an early flight - very thoughtful and appreciated. We didn’t have a view as we knew going in, but preferred the quiet, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was great.

The Norway in a Nutshell Day Trip was a bit disappointing for us. While it was a detailed tour, it felt rushed especially at the stop in Flam, where we had only 45 minutes to explore. The train, bus, and boat sequence was interesting but it was a very long day. The boat ride was crowded and more like a social event for the large tour groups rather than an exploration (to be fair, a few days earlier we had done the Geirangerfjord cruise on a much smaller boat so perhaps we were spoiled). We wish we had more time to truly enjoy the surroundings. That said, we did enjoy many aspects of the day. For someone with limited time in the area it’s a good option.

The Geirangerfjord Cruise & Day Trip was the highlight of our activities. It was breathtaking, and the experience was intimate with only about 45 people on the boat. Everyone seemed like-minded, appreciating the beautiful scenery, which made it a truly memorable excursion.

Fjord Cruise to Rosendal

The Fjord Cruise to Rosendal was the highlight of my husband’s and my part of the journey. It was quite cold, but the ferry was nice with a lovely breakfast bar. You could get a variety of hot and cold drinks, making the experience very enjoyable. The scenery was spectacular, and the weather held up beautifully!

The Food & Culture Walk in Bergen was enjoyable, although a bit long. The first stop had a huge cinnamon roll that seemed excessive, especially as it was too much after breakfast. I think the sequence could be improved by offering the cinnamon roll at the end so people can take it away if they're too full.

The Private Oslofjord Island Hopping Nature Walk was really well organized, and our guide was very informative and sweet. It was a bit challenging with the ups and downs, so I would definitely recommend bringing a hiking stick especially for older guests. We had an excellent time in Norway, touring the fjords around Bergen for about a week in early May 2025. We had asked for nicer, smaller hotels, small village culture, outdoor activities, and no driving. Mar and Fenne really delivered a well-organized, interesting itinerary! We stayed in Bergen, Flam, Solvorn, Balestrand, and back to Bergen. Highlights: a great walking tour in Bergen led by Sol. The funicular, the fish market, and the harbor in Bergen. The train to Flam. The RIB boat tour with Robbie at FjordSafari, the Waterfall Hike, and the Floating Sauna in Flam. Followed by a casual smash burger at the Garden Café at the Hostel. The bus and ferry to Sogndal and Solvorn. Dinner at the Walaker. The ferry to the Stave Church in Ornes. In Balestrand, the open-boat fjord tour and e-bike glacier ride with Captain Tor, and the Cider tasting/lunch were outstanding. Just walking and hiking in the area can be nice. And the long, beautiful ferry back to Bergen. The Opus VI in Bergen and the Walaker in Solvorn are particularly excellent hotels. We can also highly recommend the Italian restaurant Villani, on Skostredet in Bergen (near the Opus VI). All in all, KimKim set up a great trip for us.

What an adventure! From start to finish, everything was seamless and easy to understand. We started in Oslo and explored on our own; the train to Flam lived up to the hype; having reserved seats by the Kimkim team was so helpful. We had some memorable tours in Flam, but the water trip/ cheese tasting (Nathan was our fabulous guide) and the hike up the waterfall with Bjorn (the best guide we had all rip) were huge highlights. We really enjoyed the private floating sauna and can't imagine making the trip without that experience. The ferry to Bergen was great too. Just an easy, exciting, memorable trip that was so carefully constructed to our specific interests and limited time.

The front desk was only ok- when we checked in, the woman gave us to single rooms and one double room for the 5 of us. I know we had reserved two superior doubles and a single. She also gave us misinformation about our taxi pickup for our departure day. HOWEVER, the staff at breakfast was excellent- a special shout out to the man who was clearing tables and was quite attentive

The Flamsbrygga hotel is the obvious choice of places to stay in Flam, as it is in the center of town and the restaurants and pub and all connected to it. You will see a lot of traffic from the cruise ships but when they come, the whole town is overrun anyway and it's unavoidable.

Our guide, Nathan, was very informative and provided a lot of details about the area. The cheese tasting was fun. We never felt pressured to buy anything. The suits are really warm and help protect against the wind. We were given lots of opportunities to take some amazing photos.

We have traveled all over the world using various travel companies, and this was by far one of the best! Katie was wonderful in helping us plan a trip that fit our needs and continued to “be at our side” during the trip as well., She was professional, accessible and passionate about getting everything perfect- from the itinerary, to the hotels and even fabulous restaurant suggestions.
