Day Trip to Chrissi Island, Heraklion

Discover Crete's southern coast and cruise to Chrissi Island.

Overview

Discover Crete's southern coast and cruise to Chrissi Island. 'Chrissi' means golden, which you'll understand as soon as you see this small island's golden sandy beaches. Along the way, you'll visit the port of Ierapetra in Europe's most southerly town.

Your driver will collect you in Heraklion, weaving through Crete's central countryside. You'll stop in the island's only city on the southern coast, Ierapetra. From here, you'll board a boat and cruise to Chrissi Island, just nine nautical miles south of the port. Part of the island is designated as a wildlife refuge, thanks to its diverse natural beauty. This critical ecosystem is part of the European NATURA 2000 initiative.

On the island, you'll enjoy plenty of free time. Relax on the sandy beaches, swim in the clear turquoise waters, or walk through the cedar forests, known to be between 200-300 years old. The ship offers a restaurant and a bar if you get hungry or thirsty.
