Agios Prokopios Beach, #10 in the world!

Naxos Beach Day & Watersports

Overview

Featuring smaller crowds than its Cycladic neighbors, Naxos makes it easy to find your own slice of paradise on its famed beaches. Whether you're looking for privacy, rustic beauty, or a lively scene, you can find it on Naxos. You truly are spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing the perfect beach on the island.

Depending on your preferences, here are a few suggestions for Naxos beaches:
  • Agios Georgios: This beach is the closest option to the main town, offering easy access and proximity to cafes, restaurants, and shops. Generally filled with families, it's the perfect option for enjoying shallow waters and a bit more energy. In addition, an Aqua Fun Park for kids can be found in Stelida.
  • Agia Anna & Agios Prokopios: Both beaches feature sweeping sandy banks and offer plenty of amenities, including chairs, umbrellas, and tavernas. With a lengthy shoreline, you can easily claim a spot and enjoy privacy. In addition, the shallow water makes them an excellent option for families and snorkeling. There are also pedal boats to rent.
  • Plaka & Apollonas: Like Agia Anna and Agios Prokopios, these two beaches offer amenities, privacy, and family-friendly waters. However, they're slightly less crowded and provide a quieter reprieve. In Plaka, Plaka Watersports can help arrange a windsurfing lesson.
  • Mikri Vigla & Aliko: If you prefer quieter beaches, then these two options are for you. Set on the island's southwest coast, far from the main town, your travel efforts are rewarded with more tranquil sands and scenic surroundings.
  • Panormos, Psili Ammos, & Moutsouna: These three provide a peaceful and local feel for an off-the-beaten-path choice. Set on the south and east sides of Naxos, they almost feel like you've traveled to a smaller island. Yet, you can still enjoy amenities while mingling with the locals.
Here are a few options for watersports on Naxos:
