What you'll do

Your Naxos kayaking adventure begins with a pickup at your hotel and a transfer to Kalantos Beach, where you'll meet your certified guide for a safety briefing and a quick overview of the equipment. Next, launch into the sparkling waters and follow your guide east along the coastline for about 2.5 miles (4 km) toward Rhina Cave. As you paddle, pass imposing rock formations and towering cliffs, and stop to explore some of the secluded coves with your snorkeling gear.

Rhina Cave is only accessible by water, and inside, you'll find birds' nests and miniature stalactites where bats roost. Admire the cave's geological features and dive in the water to observe the marine life—colorful parrotfish, seahorses, and octopuses all call the Aegean Sea home. Next, head out of the cave and make your way to the nearby remote Piva Beach, where you'll spend about 30-40 minutes. Take this time to relax on the soft sands, swim in the sea, or continue snorkeling while your guide prepares some typical Greek snacks to enjoy on the beach.

Finally, it's time to head back along the coast to Kalantos Beach to end your adventure. If you're not in a rush, spend some time here taking in the picturesque views—with a church at one end and sailboats bobbing in the bay, it's the perfect place to relax for a while. There's also a traditional Greek taverna (tavern) where you can enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal before you leave the beach (not included).
