Winery Visit and Tasting , Heraklion

Visit a prestigious winery, located in a village near Heraklion and experience a one-hour wine tour and tasting with an expert host. This 11th-century hamlet is known for its endless rolling hills of grapevines. Enjoy the drive from Heraklion to the village as you pass through the scenic countryside of Crete. 

Start your tour with a stroll through the grapevines, learning about the different varieties grown at the vineyard. The two most popular variations are special, as they're indigenous grapes of Crete. These award-winning wines include Liatiko and Vidiano. Once indoors, you'll observe and learn about the winemaking process. If you're visiting from August to September, you can watch the harvest in action.

After your tour, sit in the winery's tasting room with your host. Here, you'll enjoy light snacks and taste both of the award-winning varieties, as well as a few other creations. The winery produces 11 white wine variations, eight red, one rosé, and one collectible label. You'll receive tasting notes and chat with the host about how the unique Cretan terroir impacts the flavor and the quality of wines.
