Hotel Carlemany Girona, Girona
Relaxed, cozy hotel with a unique exterior with bright rooms, an on-site eatery, and a large terrace
Nice location ; easy access to the old part of Girona
Overview
Kimkim's Take
- The hotel's prime location in the heart of Girona's city center puts you close to the central train station and the historic Old Town.
- You can choose from modern and stylishly appointed rooms and suites with a neutral, minimalist vibe or units with warmer, more homey tones and furnishings.
- The hotel's on-site restaurant is surprisingly good, with locally sourced ingredients and a menu ranging from comforting tapas to fine-dining dishes.
- The building has a unique exterior and contrasts with the medieval center of Girona, which might interest you if you like architecture.
- Though you can easily walk anywhere in the city, know that you won't be in the historic Old Town area, but rather the slightly more modern business district.
Authenticity
Built in 1994, Hotel Carlemany Girona is a modern hotel with a slightly-retro facade, yet it still pays homage to the region's rich history and culture. Acting as a mini art gallery, you'll find local artwork and decor throughout the property, highlighting artists like Joaquín Hidalgo and Ramon Enric.Location
If traveling by train, this is an excellent hotel for convenience. You'll be just a 5-minute walk from the train station and in the busy shopping district of Girona. Though not in the medieval area, you can easily walk there. The Onyar River is just about five minutes away, and once you cross it, you'll be in the city's Jewish Quarter. Keep going, and you'll reach sites like the Girona Cathedral and historic walls in just 15 minutes.Rooms & Bathrooms
Hotel Carlemany Girona offers various rooms types with a mix of decor. You can choose from more modern, upgraded rooms that give off a minimalist vibe or go with traditional rooms that feel fresh yet hold onto that homey, warm charm. Basic and standard rooms fall into the latter category, as does the Carlemany Suite, but it adds an in-room Jacuzzi tub and a bit of luxury. Families or those who want a bit more room can book Junior Suites, Executive Suites, and Family Rooms.Like what you see?
