Authenticity

This is one of just four UK properties by Guesthouse, a small, family-owned hotel group dedicated to converting historic townhouses into characterful boutique stays. Despite the elegant 18th-century trappings, the vibe here is a little less formal than at most upscale Bath hotels, with stylishly curated interiors, playful design touches, and warm, relaxed service that set it apart in a crowded market of stuffier upscale hotels. Original details like giant sash windows, intricate molding, and soaring ceilings are punctuated by gleaming Lucite furniture, whimsical murals, and eclectic objets d'art—including a giant dollhouse that stores the room keys at reception.

Location

The address on Great Pulteney Street is quintessential Bath, overlooking the city's grandest Georgian avenue (and a frequent backdrop for period drama shoots) and backing onto the green space of Henrietta Park. Turn left out the front door, and a short stroll takes you down to The Holburne Museum (better-known to Bridgerton fans as Lady Danbury's house); turn right to amble down to the covered Pulteney Bridge and into Bath's historic center in 3 minutes. Bath Spa train station is an easy 15-minute walk or 5-minute taxi ride south, where you can connect with London Paddington in under 90 minutes.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Thirty-six rooms and suites are spread throughout the main Georgian townhouses and the separate Coach House, each with its own unique look and layout. The tiniest units are tucked under the eaves in the attic, while larger options sport grander Georgian proportions, with crystal chandeliers, trompe l'oeil headboards, and a mix of antique and modern furniture. Henrietta Junior Suites add separate lounge areas and views over the park. All include Hypnos Lansdowne Cashmere beds, Sonos sound systems, Crosley record players, and espresso machines. Bathrooms are beautifully lit, with large walk-in showers or freestanding tubs, Dyson hair dryers, and Wildsmith toiletries. 

Amenities

The cool, creative design choices continue in the lowlit bar, where you can order craft cocktails and small bites at glass tables filled with vintage jewelry. Breakfast is a cut above the usual continental hotel fare, with cold and cooked-to-order options, and guests can grab a snack 24/7 at one of the hotel's complimentary "pantries," generously stocked with drinks, snacks, and homemade treats. Below ground, a small but luxe spa area offers massages, facials, and scrubs, plus blissful soaking sessions in a giant copper bath. 

Family-Friendliness

Kids are welcome at No. 15; children under three stay free, and those under 17 are charged a reduced rate. Extra beds can be added to larger rooms, and Henrietta Junior Suites or Coach House rooms are the best fit for larger families, sleeping two adults and two children with plenty of space. Family rooms include thoughtful kid-friendly amenities like Yoto Players with audio cards, mini teepees, and Polaroid cameras. Four-legged family members are welcome too, greeted with their own wool blanket, bowls, and treats.
