Kimkim team favorite · Luxury
Stylish, comfortable hotel near the coast with an outdoor pool, spa, fusion restaurant, and juice bar

Overview

OKU Ibiza attempts to be one with the island's natural surroundings, using earthy tones, textures, and materials in its design. Rooms are comfortable with the hotel's signature "laidback luxury" feel and feature personal balconies or terraces, some with direct access to semi-private pools. Guests can eat at the two on-site restaurants, one a fusion eatery led by an award-winning chef, and enjoy a poolside bar and juice bar. Besides the outdoor pool, other amenities include a spa, gym with fitness classes, and boutique shop with local goods.

Pros
  • Overall, the hotel has a very unique, natural aesthetic that blends in with the surrounding environment and uses sustainable materials.
  • The large rooms feel very serene, with natural elements like wooden floors and furniture, stone sinks, and local art.
  • All the rooms feature private balconies, and upgraded rooms add nice perks like rooftop terraces or semi-private pools.
  • If you're traveling with a group, the hotel's private villa has four bedrooms, two outdoor terraces with pools, a dining room, and the option to have meals prepared by a personal chef.
  • You'll be right near the coast and four minutes by foot to one of the area's best spots for swimming—and the center of Sant Antoni is just a 10-minute walk.
  • The gym has unique wooden (and sustainable) NOHrD equipment and offers free yoga and pilates classes.
  • There's a spa, and the outdoor pool occasionally features DJ sessions and offers a juice bar.
  • Fusion food is the theme at the on-site eatery, which combines flavors from the Mediterranean, Japan, and South America, but there's a traditional restaurant on the property, too.
Cons
  • The idea of rooms with semi-private pools is nice but not well executed, as your neighbor can intrude on your space and see into your room.

Additional Notes From Ash

The aesthetics at OKU Ibiza was the design I didn't realize I needed! Self-titled "laidback luxury," the hotel planned every detail, resulting in a truly relaxing space that made me feel at ease when I arrived. I'd never seen a gym made of wood before, but of course, OKU had to have that to fit the theme. As a nature-lover, this hotel is now on my personal list if I ever get the chance to return to Ibiza.

Authenticity

OKU Ibiza features a nature-inspired design, architecturally and in its interiors. The exterior resembles a rock with gray tones and beautiful wood shutters, and one of its rooftops is a terrace filled with palm trees. On the inside, furniture and decor use natural fibers, including wood tables, woven chairs from artisans in Papa New Guinea, linens, straw umbrellas, and a gym filled with sustainable fitness equipment by NOHrD. The hotel maintains those island vibes with morning yoga sessions and local artisan coffee.

Location

Set just north of Sant Antoni de Portmany, OKU Ibiza offers a quieter spot out of the city and close to the coast. A four-minute walk takes you to Cala Alto de Porta's rocky yet beautiful swimming spot. The incredible rock formation at Punta Galera is just a 10-minute drive, and Cala Saladeta is about 15 minutes away. And if you want a little city life, the edge of Sant Antoni is a quick 10-minute walk or four-minute drive.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Relax in the serenity of island vibes as OKU Ibiza rooms are open, bright, and filled with earthy colors and natural materials. Stone countertops in the bathroom, wooden shutters and furniture, woven rugs at your feet, local decor, and gauzy linens create a relaxed environment. Each unit has a private and furnished balcony, rainfall showerheads, trendy Marshall speakers, and air conditioning. Upgrade for perks like semi-private pools, a personal rooftop terrace, and seating areas. There's also a four-bedroom villa with a private pool, lounge, bar, dining room, and access to a personal chef.

Other Highlights

To channel the wellness focus of the Balearic Islands, the hotel offers complimentary yoga and pilates classes, an outdoor pool, spa treatments, and a gym fitted with sustainably made wooden NOHrD equipment. The hotel's main restaurant is a fusion of international flavors headed by an awarded chef. You can also dine at the Mediterranean restaurant and enjoy drinks at the pool with its two bars, one being a juice and smoothie bar. Other perks include DJ sessions by the pool and an on-site boutique selling local goods.
