This Riad is absolutely stunning. The architecture is authentically Moroccan, the symmetry, mosaic tiles, traditional carved wooden doors, lamps etc show off the sophisticated artistry of the Moroccan craftsmen. This Riad is absolutely stunning. The architecture is authentically Moroccan, the symmetry, mosaic tiles, traditional carved wooden doors, lamps etc show off the sophisticated artistry of the Moroccan craftsmen. It's richly and beautifully decorated, it felt as though we were staying in a Moroccan palace. It was a very special experience.
Unfortunately, it had no welcoming reception area. If you need to speak to a staff member you had to go hunting for them. The staff were very friendly and obliging but in general there was insufficient staff especially at mealtimes. During the breakfast period, we felt very sorry for the two staff members who were trying to serve breakfast, reset tables, plus checkout guests. (The credit card machine wasn't working,) They also had to get the departing guests' suitcases to the parking area. The food was good, but we did find the dinner menu very limiting and would've preferred an al a cart menu. No internet in the bedroom. Renovation was going on all over, so it was quite noisy. The roof top terrace was also closed. Very sad, as this Hotel has great potential, just needs to be managed correctly.

Authenticity & Character
That the architecture and decor were traditionally Moroccan. Stunning!

This was the most beautiful Riad we stayed in. It looked as though it had once been a Palace. It deserves its 5 stars. Our room was a dream and like an apartment. Our bed could have fit a dozen.
The staff were more than helpful and very friendly.
We highly recommend.

Authenticity & Character
From entering the lobby to our room all was beautiful.
Location
It seemed on the edge but actually was right near the Medina which is where we like to be.
Staff
They were so accommodating. We ate on the rooftop and they were happy to create a vegetarian menu for us.
Cleanliness & Comfort
The bed was amazing in size and the sheets were dreamy. The shower had ample hot water and supplies were plentiful . The breakfasts were perfect.

This place is a total shock to the uninitiated. It is located in the old Medina and, if you arrive as we did, your van pulls into this overcrowded dirt parking lot next to a public park, packs of stray dogs, and a cluster of what seem like dingy ancient 4 story plaster buildings with no windows and with graffiti proclaiming "Never Fall in Love" scrawled on a wall. Some people were playing cards and smoking in a pharmacy of one building. Our guide took us walking with our bags among winding passageways to a fancy door that we decided must be the door to the TARDIS because the inside was definitely bigger than the outside! It opened into the gorgeous courtyard and elegant rooms with intricate mosaics covering the walls. Inside, everything was immaculate and luxurious. The staff was always present and helpful. The meals were delicious-- and always more food than we could possibly eat. The swimming pool was beautiful but freezing. One night a band came in to entertain everyone with traditional music. Our room was great-- one thing, though, if you are used to a king-sized bed with your spouse that is made up for two people to be under one cover, you will be surprised. A king-sized bed here is two twins pushed together-- easily remedied, though.

The Riad served as a great jumping off point to explore Fez!

Tips for future travelers

Somewhat difficult to walk to things from the hotel. Plan to drive or order a ride.
