  • The hotel offers chic designer rooms with natural materials and options to accommodate solo travelers, couples, and groups.
  • The Bunk Room is an upgraded hostel-style experience, perfect for solo travelers looking to meet new adventure-seeking friends.
  • The Jungle View Room is accessible and easily adaptive, featuring a larger roll-in shower.
  • The Dual Queen Room is designed to accommodate small groups without needing to split into separate rooms.
  • The hotel's connection to the local culture is showcased in rooms like El Cuarto Rey, which features custom Guanacaste-inspired king beds.
Cons
  • The hotel's focus on adventure activities may not suit guests seeking a more leisurely or relaxing experience.
  • There's no on-site restaurant, but you can enjoy daily breakfast and drinks/snacks at the bar.
  • With a hostel-like room available, the hotel can feel a little busy and noisy at times.
  • It's not an ideal stay for families as children must be at least 10 years old, and most rooms are too small for families.

Authenticity

The Nomadic Hotel embraces the local Nosara culture by encouraging guests to explore the area through various activities. Enjoy adventures like surfing, hiking to local waterfalls, exploring the area on horseback, spearfishing, and yoga classes. The hotel's design and aesthetics reflect the local environment and invite you to immerse yourself in the scenic region.

Location

You'll be surrounded by lush greenery and scenic landscapes, yet with easy access to Playa Guiones, known for its consistent year-round waves, making it a popular destination for surfers of all skill levels. You can also enjoy nearby activities such as horseback riding on the beach, exploring the local village, or visiting the Malanoche Waterfall. The hotel is also located near the Río Montana and Río Nosara, perfect for standup paddleboarding and wildlife viewing.

Rooms & Bathrooms

The Nomadic Hotel offers stylish and comfortable accommodations for all types of travelers. The Bunk Room is shared like a hostel and ideal for solo adventurers or those looking to meet new people, while the Cozy Queen, Jungle View, and Queen options provide a more intimate setting for couples or small groups. For a more luxurious stay, choose El Cuarto Rey, a room fit for a king with custom chevron-inspired king beds. The Dual Queen room is perfect for accommodating small groups who prefer not to split into separate rooms. Each room is designed with a focus on comfort and style, using natural materials to channel the local nature.

Wildlife

Surrounded by dense jungle, the small hotel property allows travelers with a keen eye to spot Costa Rica's iconic wildlife, with previous travelers spotting howler monkeys, coatis, exotic birds, colorful butterflies, and more. In particular, the elevated terrace, home to the bar and breakfast area, is a good place to relax and watch for nearby critters.

Amenities

The hotel has limited amenities - there's no gym or spa - but you'll have access to a small freeform pool, designed to mimic the beach, tucked in the center of the hotel's compound. Travelers with limited mobility can easily get around as most of the hotel is on the ground level, and there's a long, gently sloped ramp leading up to the elevated terrace.

Family-Friendliness

Most families will want to find other lodging options in the Nosara area, as the hotel has a minimum age of 10 for guests, and there are few amenities designed with teenagers in mind. While the hotel isn't explicitly adult-only, most rooms are designed for adults, and there's only a handful offered at the hotel with a higher occupancy than two people.

Other Highlights

In addition to its comfortable accommodations and connection to local activities, the Nomadic Hotel also offers a yoga pavilion for guests to practice yoga in a serene setting. The hotel encourages you to explore the nearby studios and immerse yourself in Nosara's thriving yoga community. You can also enjoy time at the outdoor pool, grab a drink or snack at the bar, sit on the al fresco terrace, and try the traditional Costa Rican fair each morning at breakfast.
