The Westin was a great place to relax after 8 days of adventure in Monteverde and Arenal/La Fortuna. The rooms seem to be partly updated. Nice bed and bathroom sink area, but the tables were scratched up. Minor, but worth noting.

The Westin cannot accommodate the number of guests staying there. We tried making reservations for dinner when we arrived, but there was nothing available before 8:45 pm even for two people. The buffet restaurant (no reservations needed) is not air-conditioned. The cooking classes were booked for weeks. There are not enough bathrooms by the pool, and the toilets were often plugged up. Loved seeing the coatimundis, howler monkeys, and iguanas.
Location
It’s an hour from the airport, but that was okay.
Staff
Everyone was friendly and patient, especially the wonderful shuttle drivers.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Except for the bathrooms by the pool, the resort was clean and comfortable. The accessible single person Bathroom by the Bamboo restaurant was always clean. Glad we discovered it.
