Hiking Azores in July

Traveler visited the Azores in July 2017

“I'm looking for a hiking trip and someone told me about the Azores. I'm a 60ish woman with lots of hiking experience, but want someplace safe, as I'll be traveling alone. I'd like a hotel/b &b in the evening with an evening meal, but would like to find my own breakfast and lunch. I'd like to know a bit more about the Azores in July. I don't mind heat (although heat + humidity might not be great), but would rather avoid lots of gray days. Thanks for your help!”

Summary of the trip planning conversation

Below are some useful excerpts from the trip planning conversation
Thank you very much for your inquiry. I´m Catia, and I´m here to help you prepare a great program to explore the Azores.

July is a warm month, and usually we have 88% humidity in the islands. Regarding the gray days, as we usually say, in the Azores you can have 4 seasons in just one day. July is summer here, so you can expect good weather and perfect conditions for hiking and sea adventures.

With that in mind, I was thinking about including hiking (3 days), biking and thermal pools, whale watching a guided sightseeing tours. Sounds good for you?

Please feel free to share your feedback.

Thank you, Catia

Catia, yes, that does sound great! I might also add the thermal pools. I'll need to figure out exactly which days in July, but it will likely be somewhere between July 3 and 9. I'll look forward to hearing more about the plans.

...
Here is my first proposal for you.

I have included some of the hikes with the transfer so you can do it by yourself, and some with guide, for the information I believe will be important for this experience.

Have a look and give me your feedback. If you need any change to suit what you are looking for, please let me know.

Thanks,
Catia.

Traveler Review

Thanks KimKim! This was an excellent trip and having KimKim back-up was comforting. You connected me with Picos de Adventura, a superb tour company and their "adventures" could not have been more fun or beautiful.

Catia was great -- I also worked with Tiago and they were both tremendously helpful with getting my trip organized and with any questions I had along the way. This is a great company clearly focusing on the best possible customer service.
