Relax on the rooftop and easily walk to the coast (photo courtesy of Hotel Zenit Convento San Martín)

Hotel Zenit Convento San Martín isn't seaside, but it's just two blocks from La Concha Beach and the promenade, so you'll have easy, quick access to the coast. Housed in a former 1887 convent, the hotel combines the elegance of historic architecture with modern amenities. The hotel's Sukaldean Restaurant offers a blend of Basque and international cuisine, and the rooftop terrace provides a swimming pool, sun deck, and stunning city and sea views. Bear in mind that the rooftop is seasonal—open in the summertime.

Despite its historical background, the rooms at Zenit Convento San Martín are equipped with trendy furnishings and contemporary amenities. Some even offer outdoor terraces and separate living rooms, perfect for relaxation—though you won't find beach views here, just city scenery. The standard rooms are small and don't offer any views, so for more space and natural light, you might want to upgrade. And when you need a refreshment or nightcap, head to the bar located in a renovated chapel.

Hotel Villa Favorita is a historic boutique hotel on the La Concha Beach promenade. The hotel's prime location means getting to the beach is easy—one step out of the property, and you're there! As a bonus, it's also a short walk to the Old Town's charming narrow streets and historic buildings. But Villa Favorita has its own unique history, as it's housed in an original 19th-century estate. The attention to detail in maintaining the original architectural elements of the villa, such as the facade, wrought-iron balconies, and ornate moldings, is noteworthy.

The hotel perfectly blends its historic charm with contemporary comforts to offer a truly authentic experience. Despite the building's age, all the rooms are "smart," featuring centralized iPad controls—and many feature spectacular bay views. You'll also enjoy designer furniture, warm lighting, and spacious bathrooms. When ready for a meal, you can dine at the hotel's eateries: Amelia, led by Chef Paulo Airaudo, and the restaurant, Villa Favorita. Both are Michelin-starred options that combine Italian, Argentine, and Basque cuisine to serve seasonal and sustainable dishes.
