We had a fantastic time in Iceland, and so much of it was thanks to Gummi and his expertise, patience, and kindness. He helped us plan a trip that was jampacked, but not overwhelming. He was totally responsive to my questions, and even fielded a panicked phone call when I could not find a meeting place for our horseback riding excursion.

Some wonderful highlights were the walking food tour that jumpstarted our first day there (we ❤️ Victor), Sky Lagoon (luxurious and fun), horseback riding on the beach in Vik (we got to experience the unique Icelandic horse trot), an unbelievable ice cave tour (the drive there takes you through Game of Thrones kind of territory,), and a lengthy, but totally worth-it trip to the glacier in Jokulsarlon (saw seals, blue glaciers, and a piece of an iceberg fall off). Also loved loved loved Borealis Hotel!!

I have never really used a travel service before, and I am so so glad I did. Thank you Gummi and Kim Kim!

Our trip to Iceland was wonderful and memorable. Jenny provided an excellent day by day itinerary which we followed religiously. Along the way we a few things we discovered on our own. Driving the Ring Road is an experience that we will not forget. This is our first time using Kim Kim and we’re not disappointed.

This was a trip of a lifetime and Gummi made it possible! He listened to us from Day 1 and provided so much more than we could have ever asked for. If you are booking a trip to Iceland, you need to book with him! Everyday was perfect. Between the tours he booked, to the personalized driving maps and dining suggestions. Elisa was extremely helpful in making all of our bookings and arranging to have our food and bags moved for us while we were on an amazing hut to hut hike. Iceland is truly a magical place to visit. We especially enjoyed the east coast where it was less populated.

Gummi planned the best trip for us to Iceland. We told him we were an adventurous family that wanted to see and do as much as we could in our limited time there. He more than exceeded our expectations. Even with an airline delay that tried to ruin our trip, Gummi was able to rearrange our scheduled trip to the Blue Lagoon so we didn't miss it. He made sure everything went as smoothly as possible even though we arrived a day late, working with the hotels and car rental agency to work things out for us. He was awesome.
We experienced the beauty of Iceland through numerous day hikes with the most amazing views; we snorkeled between the tectonic plates which was a major highlight of the trip; we hiked and went snow mobiling on a glacier; kayaked through the icebergs in a glacial lake; enjoyed time in a couple of hot springs and lots of other fun stops along the way. We loved our trip and the pictures we have are just incredible - making all of our friends want to go there for their next trip! This was our first time working with Kimkim to plan a vacation and it won't be the last. Gummi, a native of Iceland, was the perfect person to work with us and we thank him for planning a trip we will always remember!

We started to plan our 10-day trip to Iceland shortly after the start of 2023, and we returned to Kimkim having had great success with them before. Terry was assigned as our guide, and after all of the updates, adjustments, and changes we requested, she came through with an itinerary that exceeded our expectations. Terry also kept up with us during the trip, responding to our occasional inquiries and offering assistance as needed. She successfully managed six travelers, and some of us plan to return to Iceland in the next year or two, ‘taking Terry along as our guide’ for that adventure, too.

Our trip took us through the southern regions of Iceland, the Golden Circle, and to the west on the Snaefellsness Peninsula. We visited the variety of sites expected, from waterfalls, to glaciers, to beaches, to lava landscapes, to mountains, to snorkeling, etc. Everything was stunning; not enough can be said. On our next visit, though, we likely will slow things down a bit to make the most of the key sites rather than trying to capture the full diversity that is available. The people we met were kind and welcoming, and always willing to help us when we had questions or concerns. Food was fantastic, as well. The quality was exceptional at nearly all restaurants, and vegan and vegetarian options were always available. We can say more, but perhaps it is most relevant that we plan to return. Thank you, Terry, for your help in making this a tremendous trip for all of us.

This hotel was perfectly adequate with easy parking and good location for getting around. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only issue was the quality of tap water; the hot water had a sulfur smell. It was not terribly bad and the water was safe to drink, but we never encountered this at any other place during our trip.

The Vintage Hotel was a good choice for the last nights in Reykjavik. However, we faced a minor hiccup. We didn't have the code to get into the hotel, which was a bit of a hassle. Thankfully, we were able to contact kimkim and got the required help to get into our room. Though it was a little stressful, I appreciate the prompt assistance from the kimkim team.

The Silfra Snorkeling was a unique experience and I'm glad we did it. The dry suit is quite an experience if you have not used one before, and while not comfortable, they work well in the cold water. The guide was great and took great care of us. We are not sure we would do this again, although one of our group would consider a scuba tour.

We accidentally missed our Zodiac boat tour, but we managed to get on to one of the duck boat tours as an alternative. In hindsight, we thought this was probably a better choice anyway, since the boat was more comfortable and slower which allowed us to take in the beauty of the glaciers at a more leisurely pace.

We really appreciated having KimKim and Silvia help us navigate our best options in Iceland while traveling as a family. We were able to see a wide variety of landscapes on our trip through a thoughtfully planned route but didn't feel like we were driving all the time. And it was very helpful to have Silvia on hand when we had questions as we navigated traveling with a toddler and last minute needs. Thank you, thank you, thank you Silvia for a WONDERFUL trip. With our busy schedules we would have never had the time to research Iceland and understand what locations and restaurants and lodging would work well for a family. We have recommended KimKim to others.

Things were handled very well by Terry. We appreciated her input, guidance and staying in contact. Our only item was how long it took for actions from the home office to approve the decision we made and get back to us.
We appreciate KimKim working with our friends the Williamson’s after they had postpone their trip for serious health issues.

We could not have done this trip without Terri and her guidance. The sites were incredible. The guides at each attraction were helpful and knowledgeable, and even accommodated my walking with a broken foot (that was kind of a crazy thing to do but I was determined!). We worked with Terri for 3 years to plan the perfect visit for my son, who has Icelandic roots. We had to cancel and rebook because of COVID and other factors, and she was patient and understanding. The do-not-miss pieces were the trip into the volcano and the zodiac boat to the icebergs, but everything was breathtaking.

This was the calibre of a hostel, and we expected better. There were so many deficiencies that could have been corrected: light bulb out in the hallway so we couldn't see to put our key in the door; no daily room cleaning; hard to find staff at the desk; no ice available (I needed to ice my broken foot daily); 2 hot tubs, one of which was not very hot and both were dirty, including a rusted out canister that probably held the chlorine for water cleaning; no screens on the windows at a time when we were told not to open our windows because the midges were biting; and more.

It was an amazing trip to Iceland and so perfectly planned! Highlights include the puffin tour (including sand dune slides!), dog sledding, and horse back riding!!! And all the amazing waterfalls and natural wonders!!! We and the kids loved it! The only note - the ice caves were too much for half of our family - not for the height challenged. I just returned from a one week trip to Iceland with my teenage daughters. It was an incredible trip including Reykjavik, the Snaefellsness penninsula, the south coast, and east to a see a glacial lagoon. The organization and planning of the trip by Janel enabled a seamless vacation. Janel took time to answer all my questions and very helpfully, arranged an hour phone conversation the week before the trip to verbally go over the whole itinerary. Ironically, the things I was most concerned about initially - all the driving and staying at so many different hotels - turned out to be my favorite aspects of the trip. The driving is easy and the scenery beautiful. It felt like a real adventure. We loved every single hotel Janel picked. They were clean, modern, charming and easy to navigate. Langaholt hotel on the west coast was a real standout. Do not miss their nightly buffet dinner! I also want to give a shout out to a lovely, woman-run shop called Llomalind Farmer's Market in the the small fishing village of Borgarnes also on the west coast about 1 hour north of Reykjavik. Everything was handmade (with the name of the person who made it!) and that was where I finally landed on a fabulous Icelandic sweater. And some soaps. And some felt decorative sheep. Better than the more commercial findings along Laugevegur street in Reyjavik. Also, there is an adorable cafe one block from the Skuggi apartments where we stayed in Reyjavik called Emilie that served these amazing Nutellacinnos. Don't miss it!
The waterfalls and the hikes were aces. Highly recommend going all the way east to the big glacier. Great food truck serving lobster rolls. I would return to Iceland in a heart beat. Oh! And Janel was right on with starting the trip at the Sky Lagoon. Set the mood perfectly for the rest of the trip. We will be back to Iceland in the future and will certainly be using kimkim again for future travels.

Charming hotel! It is the perfect blend of hotel and bed and breakfast. Gorgeous location. Helpful staff. Comfortable and welcoming. I like the sitting areas near check in. There was coffee, tea and hot chocolate available at all times near the dining area. The rooms were clean and spacious. Best breakfast of anywhere we stayed. The dinner buffet was absolutely fantastic - filled with unique local and other European dishes. I live in NYC and I can say it was still one of the best meals I've ever had. Great fish soup. When I return to Iceland, I would stay another night or two at this hotel.

Gummi was great at following up on every detail, even the smallest.
It is impossible to say that there is one place more memorable than another, the whole trip and all the places we have been to, were amazingly beautiful, emotionally satisfying and memorable. From the wows of children's waterfall, to the Lava Cave or the gayzir and Glacier all very planned with such care.
We have also liked the different experience of the lagoons. From quite and not so touristy to singing and full of tourists.
The restaurants recommended, especially those with special recommendations from Gummi , were amazing.

Our family of five had an amazing trip to Iceland. I am so appreciative of the itinerary Duncan put together for our family. You could tell he listened to our families’ interest in planning the trip. Finding activities to interest three kids ranging from 19 to 13 in age. The country of Iceland is unlike anywhere we have traveled, pictures do not do it justice.

We had a chance to see a lot of the country during our visit. Driving in Iceland was very easy especially with access to Wi-Fi in the car. That made a huge difference. Duncan provided a detailed map with optional stops to see waterfalls, glacier views, beaches and hiking trails. We definitely made the most of our time seeing all the must see stops and some hidden gems.

We were very fortunate with the weather with very little rain and just a couple of heavy wind days. Our boat ride out to Melrakkaey Island to see the puffins was canceled due to the wind.

We did a number of activities- snorkeling, snowmobiling, a glacier hike, a zodiac lagoon ride and lot of gorgeous hikes. The tour companies were all great. It was an easy check in process and our guides were friendly and shared lots of information about Iceland.

For our family having a detailed plan and a variety of areas to explore at our own pace works best. We could stay longer at a location, stop for lunch on our schedule, skip or add stops depending on where the day takes us. This would have been a different trip if we had been sitting on a tour bus or trying to plan our a trip on our own. This was a perfect blend.

The hotel is in unique location with a beautiful view and a small individual balcony. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant food was good but the service was just so-so. We drove about 20 minutes away to the closest town for dinner outside of the hotel after the first night.

This spa was amazing. The seven steps were perfect. And the location is beautiful looking out at the water. The large glass window in the sauna just adds to the relaxation. We went to 3 thermal spas and this one was the clear favorite.

Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon Zodiac boat tour

Amazing experience- not to be missed. It’s hard to describe and pictures don’t do it justice but the lagoon is stunning. We also saw several seals sunbathing on icebergs. If we had time we would have gone a second time.

Skaftafell Glacier Hike

We were able to do a hike on the lower part of the glacier. It was an easy hike- not quite what we were expecting based on the photos. We did the 3 hour hike but that includes the ride to and from the glacier and the walk to get to the ice cap. If I were to do it again I would select the 5 or 7 hour hike that takes you further into the glacier. But it was still a great activity that we all enjoyed.

We loved this experience. Amazing view of the glacier while you are out on the ride. The snowmobiles were easy to operate even for a first times. My kids 19, 17 and 13 had so much fun. Our guide was great and we had a chance to stop half way through to soak in the scenery and take some photos. I would highly recommend this activity.

This was such a unique experience. It is definitely cold but worth it. The water is crystal clear. Our guide was great and very funny. He also took these awesome digital photos while we snorkeled that we purchased for at a reasonable cost

Krešo planned a trip of a lifetime for us. As very discerning travellers, it’s hard to impress us but he totally exceeded every expectation!
Iceland was filled with adventure (ice climbing, glacier snorkeling, kayaking through ice bergs) stunning vistas and beautiful topography. We would go back again and again.

It was a delight to work with Francesca in planning the trip. She developed an itinerary that was perfect for us. The tours she booked were great as were her restaurant suggestions throughout Iceland. We loved how she gave us daily optional activities. The hotels we stayed at were very nice. We needed to make a few changes in our itinerary because of flight cancellations. Michele and Francesca were very responsive adjusting hotels and activities.
