Amazing views and comfortable rooms!

A terrific trip to see whales, which we had never done before. Take your dramamine before you board, although they have it onboard if you need it.

This was an interesting experience but should have been marketed as a "walk on a glacier" rather than as an "ice cave". The cave was very shallow (maybe 20 feet). The hike in crampons up the side of the glacier was ok although the weather was uncooperative.

An interesting cave and the guide was personable and informative.

Great location, walking distance to everything (no need to drive anywhere) and start was awesome.

Family friendly, fantastic rooms, great restaurant and a hot spring that is a must when there.

The hotel was fantastic, clean comfortable and very homie. Only thing I would say is if there's a way to turn off the lights from the walk away and the porch at night to see the northern lights.

We had a great time doing this. Our tour guide took too is to a third location that we feel was the best stop.

Great way to start your trip.

Our food tour is a must if you are visiting. Not only did we try a bit of every restaurant (oh and come hungry because you do eat a lot) our tour guide Katrín Elíasdóttir was extraordinary. We were on a good and history tour with her and I would recommend her to anyone.

Great location, friendly/helpful front desk staff. Nice breakfast and Starbucks adjacent to lobby. Clean and functional room.

Nice cottages in the countryside, clean and functional. Good views of sheep grazing in the fields, horses in the distance and creek nearby.

Good location along the southern ring road. Ample parking and good breakfast. Very plain, functional room.

Great place to see the Northern Lights, and they have a camera on the tv system that you can use to monitor status of the Northern Lights. Very plain and basic, but clean and functional rooms. Nice views from our room of the Arnarstapi coastline. Breakfast was not included and hotel restaurant was expensive. Very limited other options nearby. Good location and lots to see along the coast within walking distance.

Good location, near the marina. Welcoming hotel with apartment type rooms and common gathering spaces. Good breakfast. Parking was limited to street parking adjacent to the hotel.

Great location near the Golden Circle. Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Dinner was very good but quite expensive. The room was nice, clean and functional.

Really enjoyed this lagoon experience. Seemed more authentic and relaxing compared to other lagoons. Less crowded, friendly staff, very nice facility and views of the bridge/river/landscaping.

Very unique experience. Landscape was beautiful. Ice caves were limited and did not fully reflect marketing pictures (some blue ceilings). Super jeep vehicle was unreliable and not properly maintained. Parts of the path up to the ice cave access was slippery and steep.

Really enjoyed this unique experience. Appreciated the history and using the local ground geothermal properties for cooking. Break was very good!

Very unique experience. Interesting opportunity to walk across a large lava flow field to the access point and to step down into the lava cave. The wooden walkways/steps made access easier. Interesting geology that was well explained by our guide. We did not see any stalactites or stalagmites as stated in the activity description.

This experience was cancelled by the service provide due to poor weather conditions/wind.

We really enjoyed this experience. Minty our local Icelandic guide was exceptional! The variety of restaurants, food, beverages and stories/history was great!

Very unique & quirky establishment on Reykjavik harbor. No parking on site but you can pull up to the door (alley side not street side) and drop off luggage quickly. Parked on the street a few blocks away which wasn't too bad cost wise for a night. Breakfast included and it was great. Easy walk into downtown for food, shopping, and sights. Saw the Northern Lights over the harbor despite all city lights.

Our favorite of our four accommodations. Set back in the SW countryside surrounded by fields and grazing animals. Dinner and breakfasts were very delicious and filling. We did the riverside cabins which were spacious and quiet. Great place to step outside at night to see the Northern Lights on the last night.

A cool place just on the edge of downtown and an easy walk to the sights. Street parking was available and free but did fill up so we didn't move once we got our spot for the one night. We took a chance and dropped in at 2 PM and they were able to accommodate an early check-in. Breakfast was not in the rate and was pricy ($30US I think) so we got some light fare at a city market.

A beautiful site challenged by an angry Iceland weather day. No regrets stopping and getting some good views of the arches, lighthouse, and beaches. We were a few weeks late to see puffins but maybe next time. ;)

A beautiful view though we were getting angry, rainy, windy Iceland weather during our visit. Still glad we stopped to see them. The 'sneaker waves' are no joke. They would hit the columns and much of the beach very quickly.

Best of all the falls we saw during our trip. A very expansive visitor center/diner/gift store on site.

We really enjoyed this town. We spent our first and last nights in Iceland here and got to do some exploring of the downtown, old town, shops, and sights. We even got Northern Lights from our downtown hotel, which was a bonus.

We landed at KEF at 0630 and were in the Blue Lagoon by 0845. It was a great wake up and re-invigoration after our 5 hour redeye from BWI. Crowds were not bad and you could find some quieter spots beyond the main lagoon to enjoy the experience. The premium experience was nice with the different mud treatments and the robe for lounge outside the water.

Grand falls along the coastline drive between Vik and Reykjavik. We stopped to take it in from the base; weren't up for the 500 steps to the overlook.

Vik was a quaint little town. Icelandic weather challenged us this day this some stormy weather, but it did not stop us nor this influencer in front of the iconic Vik church taking a gigabyte of photos. We did go to the wool shop recommended in the KimKim Vik write up to a) meet the dogs, and b) get some locally sourced and produced Icelandic wool sweaters. Big win on both counts. We lunched at the Black Crust Pizza place which was delicious.

A stop on the silver ring that worked out wonderfully for us for different reasons. A friendly Icelandic Sheepdog was running loose in the parking lot, greeting all the arrivals. We are dog people and to get to see & pet this adorable, unique breed pup was big bonus points for us. The hot spring was interesting but not much to see. There is a vendor on site selling snacks and Icelandic hot dogs. If you bought food, you could sit in his large greenhouse and enjoy it in comfort. Did I mention there was a dog ;)

This was our first black sand beach and it was very beautiful, accented by a somewhat stormy day.

A beautiful, well-run facility and experience. Did the full experience with the 7(?) stages which you get to do once. Rest of the time is relaxing in the lagoon and enjoying the views of the harbor.

A well-run experience to see the effects of lava on Iceland up-close. The chambers were very unique and full of great sights and sounds.

A must-see site on the Golden circle that we enjoyed. Iceland challenged us again at this locale with both calm cool weather as well as 40 knot rain & wind in the face. Took the walk from the visitor center to the overlook, down the split to the waterfalls and over to the parliament building. All very interesting

A beautiful sight though Iceland weather wasn't presenting the most beautiful views the one day we had available to see it on the way to the west coast. No regrets including it in our itinerary.

The seas were rough that day so we got quite the show of wind, sea, surf along the path. Paths were well marked and easy to traverse. Be sure to get a selfie with the large stone troll statue.

This was an optional addon from Noga, our KimKim advisor, and was well worth the divert along the 'silver ring' as we drove from Reykjavik to Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Though not as large as Gullfoss, the span and setting made the falls very charming especially with the fall colors.

Seemed to be a nice town with several good restaurants. it was our base for exploring Snæfellsnes Peninsula so did not walk around here.

We got there too late for the main farm and restaurant, but the Bistro next door was open & pretty magical. Great food and ambiance. We each had tomato soup and split a burrata & tomato ravioli and a cheesecake with tomato jam.

Seljalandsfoss was as wonderful as you see in all the pictures. Didi the walk around back and enjoyed the view. We did not make the trek to Gljúfrabúi as we'd spent all day in Icelandic rain and wind.

It was a well-run experience though in mid-September there were not a lot of whale sightings to be had. As our guide/spotter/photographer Matteo reminded everyone, we are going into the wild, not an aquarium. He did get four pictures of the animals we saw on the trip which the tour company emailed to us upon request (as they did not have my email thru the Kimkim booking).

A great full day off road enjoying the backcountry. Nine of us on the tour loaded into a large Mercedes offroad vehicle. Perfect for full offroad riding and river crossings. Many stops to take in caves, waterfalls, glaciers, and rivers. Midpoint we stopped for an opportunity for a self-paced 45-minute moderate hike to a summit for a great view of the valley. We chose to only hike halfway and enjoyed the views seen in my picture below.

Really interesting and fun.

Very different from the other 2 lagoons we went to. The steam and blue water made it a bit interesting. Staff person at the front desk was a little rude.

This one had a little bit more of a party atmosphere and was more crowded but still fun. It was interesting to be able to jump into the lake then back into the warm water.

Felt very safe and the guide was very informative.

Beautiful view and very nice facility, products, etc. We had excellent drinks here.

Way longer hike than stated

The hotel Klettur was exactly what we wanted - nothing too fancy, but really nice. I took off one star because our shower didn't work on the first morning we needed it. The breakfasts were really good. The staff was helpful and nice.

Thomas took us everywhere he could to try to find us the lights. As we drove back into Reykjavik, we finally spotted them. Thomas extended the tour so we could see the incredible show. Thanks Thomas!

Our guide Christina worked tirelessly to make our trip just perfect. The sights were breathtaking.

Great room and hot tub in the courtyard. Very aesthetically pleasing to look at in the courtyard.

This was a fun hotel with a great history. Good breakfast selection and great location for a walk to the docks.

The service and Hotel were great. This was a beautiful place to stay. The only downside was the child across the hall that screamed for 3 hours.

Nice hotel in a very convenient location for anyone catching an early flight. We didn’t spend much time there since we checked in, slept, and headed to the airport first thing in the morning, but it served our needs perfectly.

First‑class hotel, and we had a wonderful experience with the staff. The owner was onsite and always greeted us warmly whenever we crossed paths. Highly recommend this hotel for other visitors.

Skógafoss is definitely worth the stop, and the sheer power of the waterfall is very cool to witness in person.

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach are must‑see stops for any visitor. I highly recommend visiting both the lagoon and the beach—the glaciers and drifting icebergs are stunning, and walking down to Diamond Beach is absolutely worth it. We planned to take the Zodiac tour, but high winds caused it to be cancelled.

If it’s already on your route, it’s worth a quick stop, but in my opinion it doesn’t stand out the way the other waterfalls we visited did.

We really enjoyed our stay in Akureyri, and I recommend that anyone doing the Ring Road spend at least one night here to explore the city.

The cave is right along the route, making it an easy stop as you explore the area, but in my opinion it’s not particularly memorable and could be skipped without missing much.

Did not visit as Noga indicated the columns had a lot or erosion this past spring, plus the weather was not good that day with heavy wind and rain.

Vestrahorn Mountain was nice to see, but the black‑sand beaches—with their dunes and tufts of grass—were the real highlight.

Hengifoss and Litlanesfoss were definitely worth the stop, and the hike itself was incredibly scenic as you make your way toward Hengifoss.

We appreciated our visit and would recommend it to fellow travelers.

Did not stop to explore as it was raining really hard and very windy. Was bummed the weather was poor that afternoon and not able to spend more time there.

We just stopped for a few minutes, and it was perfectly fine for a quick visit.

We really enjoyed our stay in this village. I highly recommend that future visitors base themselves here when exploring Eastern Iceland.

Stuðlagil Canyon was certainly worth the visit, and I would highly recommend it to future travelers. The basalt column formations were remarkably striking.

I’d rate this stop as fairly average and wouldn’t recommend going far out of your way to see it. That said, the south part of the canyon was genuinely striking—very cool formations and beautiful scenery—so it’s worth visiting if you’re already nearby.

We didn’t do the entire cliff walk from Arnarstapi to Hellnar, but starting from Arnarstapi was wonderful. Even a partial hike offers gorgeous coastal views, making it a stop well worth your time.

We truly enjoyed our one‑day stay in Reykjavík. It’s a vibrant, walkable city, and I’d recommend that any traveler to Iceland spend at least a day taking it in.

I’m really glad we stopped to explore the sod homes. Buying tickets to go inside made the visit far more meaningful and was well worth the time and money.

The whale‑watching safari was a bit of a disappointment, as we only saw a couple of whales briefly surface far off in the distance. Still, we understand that with tours like this, sightings are never guaranteed. The tour group and the boat was good though.

Definitely one of the highlights of our trip, and I highly recommend it to future visitors. It was incredible to experience remote parts of Iceland that are only accessible by 4WD. Our guide, Lilly, was excellent.

The Skógafoss waterfall is definitely worth a stop—its power and beauty make it a memorable visit.

We just stopped for a few minutes along our route that day so not really able to give it a fair review.

Dettifoss and Selfoss were truly remarkable, and I would strongly recommend them to future visitors.

We really enjoyed visiting all the sites recommended on the Geological Wonders of Lake Mývatn tour. The Grjótagjá Cave was a bit underwhelming, but everything else was fantastic. I highly recommend bringing head nets—the midges can be overwhelming. A friend suggested this before our trip, and my wife and I were very glad we listened.

Great way to see downtown Reykjavik and be introduced to Icelandic foods.

This was a beautiful hotel, great breakfast great location and views close to the school bus coffee but I think what it’s missing is some kind of central activity like a hot tub or something would’ve been nice here!

This hotel was great. The breakfast was really nice and the location was perfect. It’s out of the core so it’s easy to drive and park but close enough that you can just walk into the town easily and see beautiful views.

This was honestly one of the coolest things we did! It was a beautiful sunny day, which was nice, and our guide was exceptionally passionate about what he was doing, and he had my son as a little helper since my son was the only child on the tour which made him feel special and made the experience much more interesting for my 10-year-old. The bread was delicious and the tour itself was just like 45 minutes and it was perfect really unique.

This was so awesome the girl that did the private lesson for my son was so sweet and nice 20 years old was very good with my son listening to him and teaching him and showing him all the things very patient and kind and caring. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip for my son. He now wants to do horseback riding regularly lol

The room was small but very comfortable. The shared services such as laundry and kitchen were well appointed. While it was pretty remote, it was not far from the ferry, a gas station, and restaurant. It was a great location in the West Fjords.

If you stay on West Man Island , this is a great place to stay. The onsite restaurant was amazing!

While this is a bit of a drive off the main road and is very remote, it was interesting driving through the moss lava fields. The view from the room window was fantastic as it was just clear enough to see the glacier off in the distance. Overall this was a nice place to stay. It was well appointed and clean.

This was a little disappointing as we only saw 1 whale from far away. Not the tour company’s fault. They were wonderful and tried their best to locate the whales. Saw lots of puffins flying across the water!

Was a little worried about whether I could do this tour but it was so worth it! Parts of the hike were strenuous but being on the glacier and the ice cave were worth it! Our guide was amazing!

This was fun! The glacier lagoon is beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable.

Site is not better than Skatafell glacier tour but Cave is nice but somewhat deforming. Tour guide is great though, makes a difference.

The Private Sturlureykir Horses Riding Tour was really interesting. We learned a lot about Icelandic horses and their unique fifth gait. The horse farm was fascinating, and the ride itself was enjoyable. The farm even baked special rye bread in steam vents, which we got to taste and learn about. It was located inland in the northwest part of the island, about two hours away by car.

The Icelandic Food Walk was really good. I enjoyed it a lot. It was a small group of about twelve to fifteen people, which made the experience more personal and enjoyable.

The Myvatn Buggy Adventure Tour was okay. We had a good time getting off-road and seeing the landscape, but it wasn't particularly unique to Iceland. It felt like a typical buggy ride experience that you could do anywhere.

The Vatnshellir Lava Cave Experience was good. Although we had been in lava caves before, this one was deeper and we learned a lot. We almost missed it due to running late, but the kimkim helpline was very responsive and helped us confirm the timing. We made it in time and had a great tour.
