Clothilde was extremely helpful and responsive with the overall planning and with every detail. Our original ideas to visit Evian and Montreux for golf and jazz were made even better with the KimKim team presenting options for personalized tours which exceeded our expectations. The additional experiences included a private cheese and wine tasting with a Sommelier in Annecy (Jennifer), a private pontoon boat tour on Lake Annecy with Fondue (Gael), a private tour of the old town (Aude) a private tour of the Patek Phillipe Museum in Geneva (with Siggy), and a private tour of artisanal cheese making in Gruyere, a chocolate factory tour, and a driving tour around Montreux that included wine tasting in the UNESCO World Heritage site (with Emmanuel). The guides were impeccable in their knowledge and getting to know us to help personalize the tours. We especially want to single out Aude for her knowledge of Annecy and the ability to simplify the complex history of the area, and Emmanuel, who made us feel like friends from the moment we met, and who altered the tour in real time based on our interests. All of the drivers were on time and easily contacted for any time changes we requested. We are looking forward to planning our next adventure with KimKim. We will refer our friends to KimKim to develop itineraries to exactly match their desires.

Our trip was absolutely wonderful. Valentine did an amazing job helping us organize our travel plans. We had peace of mind that our transportation was taken care of to and from the various sites we visited. She took extra measure to accommodate a variety of ages within our group. 100% recommend kimkim and Valentine when planning your next vacation.

We had a wonderful vacation! Caroline was very patient and helpful while planning. She was available all through the trip for questions and followed through immediately with a response. In one instance, Caroline went out of her way to help even though she had personal commitments. Her help was truly appreciated.
Some of the highlights was a hike in the Chamonix area, the bike ride in Lauterbrunnen and Junfraujoch. The views and experiences we had will stay with us for a long time.
The only feedback we have is, while traveling in Switzerland is very easy on the country’s public transportation, in some cities, it was quite a few changes of modes of transport. The notes/daily itinerary was a little confusing.
Aside from that, we had a memorable holiday in a beautiful country.

We appreciated that KimKim booked our train tickets, half-fare Swiss Passes, and hotels, and suggested excellent places to visit: Lucerne, Mt. Pilatus, Interlaken, Jungfrau, Geneva, Zermatt, Zurich, the Matterhorn, a farm and cheese tour in Lucerne (exceptional), a tour to a gorge and waterfall from Interlaken, and a tour to Rhine Falls & Stein am Rhein from Zurich.
We did have a couple of problems, though. Unfortunately, we missed our train after we landed at the airport from New York to Zurich because our flight had been delayed. We should have had a flexible train ticket, so that we could have taken any train, but instead had a ticket that was for a specific one. We ended up having to buy train tickets ourselves, even though we had already paid for the ones that had been booked for us.
In addition, the tour that we were booked on to visit Gruyere ended up being very unpleasant because the description of the tour that was presented to us and the actual tour were very different. I don't think much care was taken for our comfort or expectations in that instance. For those reasons, I can only give a so-so rating for the planning of our trip.

It was a high rise, right across from a big meadow where para-gliders land. We had a terrace where we could sit and enjoy watching them coming from high up and land softly in the meadow. We also had a beautiful view of Jungfrau from the terrace.

It was on the main street so it was easy to walk to wherever you wanted to go. There was also a free bus system that you could use if you didn't want to walk

We enjoyed the tours of the chocolate and cheese factories, but the village of Gruyere is very touristy. There's castle worth visiting, but the rest of the village is restaurants and tourist shops.

Overall the trip was exceedingly well planned and the hotel accommodations and in-country travel were excellent. The van drivers were all very helpful, punctual and patient, even when we were delayed getting into the country upon arrival. We loved our hotels and they were ideally located with great services. The tours that were booked provided the right level of engagement and relaxation. I would also like to call out Grizzy the guide who accompanied us on our hiking trip to Lauterbrunnen. She was an exceptional guide in that we had two very different goals. Part of our group wanted a very easy stroll why my sons wanted to do more strenuous hiking. She was able to satisfy both our needs with ease. She was very knowledgeable but not overbearing and provided information far beyond what we needed for the day. She's a treasure!

The other pleasant surprise was the "Fondue in a Backpack". I had moderate expectations for this and thought the whole idea to be a bit trite. However, it turned out to be one of the memorable events as we had very good fondue along the shores of Lake Thunersee on a beautiful summer day in Interlaken.

This was the first time my family traveled with a child (one-year old) but the quality of the accommodations and the thoroughness in transportation planning made it very stress free. I would recommend Kimkim to my friends because of the in-country support you have while traveling and the local insight our travel agents provided while we planned the trip.

Our time in Switzerland was fantastic! We loved that everything was planned out for us so we could enjoy ever minute while we were there. The app was easy to use and we loved the detailed notes for each day. Especially directions to the hotels from the train stations, and other transportation notes. The accommodations were great (didn't love Hotel Derby in Montreux, but Eden Palace and Waldstatterhof were fantastic). The activities that were planned were great. We LOVED our private e-bike tour with Hannas in Lauterbrunnen! Definitely the highlight of our week. And of course, Mt. Pilatus was absolutely stunning!

Working with Valentine was great! She responded in a timely manner whenever we had questions and was a pleasure to work with. I will definitely be recommending kimkim to others. Thanks for planning a memorable trip in Switzerland!

Waterfalls Adventure tour: Guided E-bike tour

This was our favorite tour of our trip! The Lauterbrunnen valley was stunning! Our private guide, Hannas, was amazing and fun. He stopped every so often to tell us about the waterfalls, or capture photos in just the right spot. Lunch was great and the location was perfect. We would highly recommend this tour.

We enjoyed trying new wine varietals at this winery. However, the photos and description of this tour are a bit misleading. The photos show a patio with the view of the lake, however, the tasting room is built into the hillside and indoors. There were no views of the terraced vineyards or lake. I actually thought that we were at the wrong place because it wasn't anything like it was described on the app. There was no tour of cellars or explanation of the wine making process.

My husband and I just returned from Switzerland after spending 8 days there with a trip planned by KimKim. KimKim made the experience stress free as I didn't have to plan anything. We provided our interests and KimKim did the rest. With our busy schedules, it was nice to have KimKim do the heavy lifting.

We were impressed by their accommodation selections and recommendations for where we should travel in Switzerland. For example, we hadn't considered Montreaux, but were so happy we got to spend time there. The contrast of the Swiss German side to the Swiss French side of Switzerland was a fun way to see Switzerland. KimKim made the experience so easy with our vouchers for everything and the service providers were clearly vetted. We can not recommend KimKim enough for those that are looking for ease when planning a trip as you'll have the perfect balance of individual exploration time and planned activities.

The view from our room of Lake Geneva was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel was centrally located to the train station and bus station, for ease. We found Montreaux very walkable with a number of fun restaurants. The hotel buffet could have been a bit stronger (quality wise), but I think we had high standards after our stay in Geneva and Zermatt. We opted for a local coffee shop and keep our buffet selection pretty basic each morning as a result. We enjoyed the hotel's location to the Fairmont for delicious evening meals (with a view!).

We liked the size of this hotel and the location of this hotel. We liked being far away from town as it was peaceful at night with the windows option and the centralized location to trails for hiking. The morning view of the Matterhorn was amazing. Additionally, the spa room with the sauna was heavenly.

While we felt this hotel was amazing, travelers might find it far away from town. The electric shuttle is only offered to/from the train station when you arrive and leave. You otherwise need to walk everywhere in Zermatt which is roughly 20 minutes to/from town. That wasn't an issue for us and the view was 10/10, but I wanted to mention it. There is a bus you can take, but we opted to walk.

The Chocolate Train

The quality of coffee could have been a bit better on the train ride in the morning, but aside from that, we were impressed by the train ride. We were initially worried it may be a bit toursity, but we embraced it. The cheese and chocolate factory tour were very informative. Seeing the countryside from the train was also fun. Easy and so convenient at every location. Mathilde made sure we had easy access to the train locations. Once we figured it out it was definitely the way to travel around. Only one big problem was storage for luggage. There was never enough space and often we had to take ours to our seats or stand with it. But that’s not something you can control.

Clothilde was great to work with. Loved the hotels she picked - good locations and very nice. Emanuel did our Montreaux day long private tour. It was great. He added a small, mountain cheese making tour that was the the best. Drivers at airport, from Grimmelwald to Glacier Express was great. I think his name was Kara. Loved our ebike tour with George. The trains and transportation up the mountains was very easy to follow. We also had to cancel and reschedule this trip twice due to a health problem by one of our trip members. We appreciate KimKim working with us to reschedule the trip.

The hotels listed in this review are not the hotels we stayed at!!!!! These hotels were from an initial itinerary. We stayed at Ameron in Lucerne, Eiger in Grimmelwald, Hotel Zermama in Zermatt and Grand Suisse in Montreaux.

Emilie was the best! She listened to what we were and were not interested in doing during our 13 day Switzerland adventure! She picked wonderful hotels in each city/town we visited, each conveniently located near a train station. She set up all of our daily activities and gave us great recommendations for things to see/do on our free days. Emilie also recommended that we download the SBB Mobile App to easily navigate the train schedules. Having that plus the KimKim App made the whole trip run smoothly! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Switzerland and will recommend Emilie and KimKim to all of our friends and family!

Hotel Chalet Swiss in Interlaken was charming with its old and creaky ambiance. The service was wonderful, and the location was easy to get to. Although Interlaken can be a bit touristy, I enjoyed exploring the quieter old town area nearby. The hotel provided a cozy, authentic experience with helpful staff.

Hotel Nolda in St. Moritz was great, although the room was a bit small. The view from our window of the Alps was beautiful, with a river and cows in sight. It made the whole stay very picturesque. The hotel restaurant served a nice dinner, which added to the experience. Overall, it was a cozy stay with wonderful views.

The Seeburg Hotel in Lucerne was very nice. It was located a little outside of the tourist area, which I appreciated because I'm not really into the rush of touristy places. Although it required a short ten-minute bus ride to get to the old city part of Lucerne, it was worth it for the peaceful environment. The hotel itself was very pleasant, with great breakfast options. Overall, staying here made our time in Lucerne more enjoyable.

Mount Pilatus, Golden Round Trip (Tickets)

The visit to Mount Pilatus was a bigger, higher elevation adventure compared to Mount Rigi. We took the train up and the gondola down. The journey was seamless, and the view from the top was exquisite. Although initially hesitant about doing two mountain trips in a row, Mount Pilatus offered its own unique experience and was definitely worth it.

Our first Alpine adventure was the self-guided day to Mount Rigi. It was wonderful. We explored around the main area and then ventured off into pastures, finding a shelter with lounge chairs where we enjoyed some solitude surrounded by cows and the beautiful mountain environment. It was quite the serene experience and a good introduction to our mountain adventures.

Wow, just wow! My Husband and I travel quite a bit and are normally our own trip planners even when we go to other countries. This time we were visiting two countries in Europe, which was Switzerland and Austria, and I had just happened to come across kimkim.com and was tossing around the idea of using a travel specialist. I made an inquiry and was met with a very nice person Clemens! We decided after a few messages that we would just let him see what he could come up with for us and to our surprise, he had made a very detailed travel plan through both countries. And we had our initial video call and was quite impressed with his personality and his knowledge of both countries and how personal he was. He listened to what we were wanting and what was important to us and the plan was set into motion, so we hit the go button! Once we got our plan, we decided there was a couple of things we wanted to change, which was no problem. It didn’t feel like it was an aggravation for them. It just seemed that they were there to really, please us and give us a vacation worth remembering! about a week to 10 days before we left there was another video phone call to go through every last detail of our trip and everything was explained to me, and every minute detail from our pick up from the airport, to directions to bus stations times and train tickets, bus tickets, and when I mean, detailed, it was very detailed and step-by-step walk-through. It was quite lovely to have the app to refer to at any moment that we needed it. I downloaded the what’s app and could stay in connection with them at all times. There was only one hiccup in our plans which was one hotel that wasn’t already paid for when we were checking out and all I had to do is pick up the phone and call kimkim on WhatsApp and they immediately fixed the situation! And another time one of our trains was switched to a different train. I called. They immediately picked up and that was also fixed ASAP! As I said before, we have never used a travel agent or specialist and was a little bit nervous about doing it, but I after using kimkim will definitely be using them again! Your plans are light out before you like a well oiled machine! Clemens and his entire team were exceptional, professional, and very kind. If you have never like us, use a travel specialist before I highly recommend using them. I forgot to mention that we traveled first to Switzerland and then onto Austria! The stress that this team took away from me while traveling into these two countries was well worth the price which we thought was very reasonable. we were given suggestions on restaurants things to do. Tickets were put into motion and placed for us and it was just a seamless vacation! The beauty that we saw with the recommendations and the food that we ate was incredible! Oh my goodness, I cannot say enough about this hotel! The breakfast was insane! The staff were so precious! I am now called Mom by some of the girls there that work in the hotel! Every time we would walk in the door, their faces would light up and we just had a great time here! Made lifelong friends that when they come to America, they wanna come stay with me! Great rooftop bar and food and it felt like they were family by the time we left! Even the bar and restaurant downstairs is incredible! I actually cried just a little bit before I left this one! I made a lot of connections there!

The opera was very good, it was our last night. I did leave early only because I was very swollen lol, at this point, we had probably walked 80 miles in two weeksand I just could not sit any longer but well worth going. Would like to have seen a little bit of a more traditional opera, but it was a beautiful building.

We loved working with Clothilde! She had a fantastic ability to sense exactly the types of experiences and hotels we were looking for. Her choices of smaller boutique hotels (Ameron in Lucern, Eiger Mountain and Soul Resort in Grindlewald, Zermama in Zermatt, and Grand Hotel Suisse in Montreux) were perfect in terms of location, comfort and ambience. This was a previously scheduled trip that we had to postpone for medical reasons and she tweaked our itinerary to fit in a panoramic train ride, and give us an extra night in Montreux which we loved. Chlothilde always responded to our questions promptly and her wonderful directions for train travel allowed us to move around Switzerland between towns, travel to excursions, and move around on our own with confidence. She is the best! All of our drivers and guides were terrific as well. George at Flying Wheels led a great ebike trek to Lauterbrunnen, and our afternoon with Mike at Gorgornat was tailored to our needs so that my husband managed to complete the hike despite recent back surgery. Our day with Emmanuel in Montreux was exceptional—all great choices! Thank you for a wonderful bucket-list vacation!

Our guide Emmanuel was one of the best guides we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The tour included a tour of a UNESCO site to see artisan cheese made by hand which we could then compare to a factory cheese production site The Cailler chocolate tour was very interactive and interesting . We also visited the Domaine du Daley winery with our host Felix who led a great tour of the winery cellars and provided excellent details of the wine production process during our tasting while seated on a beautiful terrace overlooking Lake Geneva. It was a great day!

Emilie was absolutely amazing!! She helped me create the perfect adventure for our family and everything was beyond my expectations! Also, my husband got sick in the middle of the trip and had to be hospitalized and she was so helpful at trying to help us figure out future accommodations and work work with the circumstances we are dealing with. We are now back home and my husband is safe and we are so grateful for the opportunity to work with Emilie and KimKim.

Emilie planned a wonderful Switzerland trip for us that went very smoothly. She was very prompt in her responses when we had questions and was very attentive to our requests. We just finished our amazing trip to Switzerland! Caroline was so helpful ! She listened to our ideas and planned our trip so well according to our needs. Flawless doesn't begin to describe our first experience working with Valentine and the Kim Kim team! Absolutely EVERYTHING was perfect! Our experience was wonderful! We got to the hotel early and our room was not ready yet. Christina (her and Maria were fantastic!!) still checked us in and was able to get us a table at the hotel’s restaurant. After a long travel day, it was great to just relax. The hotel is in the perfect spot! There are so many restaurants to choose from just a few steps out of the hotel doors. There is even a little pharmacy shop right across the hotel that has some essentials you may have forgotten! You are a 30 second walk to the river where you can take in views of that, the amazing architecture and mountains. I highly recommend booking your stay here. I know I will be back!
