Discover the Natural Beauty of Corinth

Discover the natural beauty of the Corinth region, which attracts visitors from across Europe and the world. You can enjoy a visit to a stunning alpine lake, absorb the peaceful scenery around you, walk through a forest, and explore the area's mountainous region.

Start with Mount Ziria, the mythical peak where Hermes hid the immortal cows he stole from his brother, the god Apollo. You can drive to the top of the mountain and visit a few of its picturesque villages along the way. Then, consider a stop at Trikala, Manna, and Zemenos, where various local festivals occur throughout the year.

Next, make your way to the nearby Lake Doxa, a wonderful spot in the mountains where you can walk around or paddle in the water. Many locals and tourists alike choose this spot for a run or bike ride. The lake's perimeter is just over 2.5 miles (4.3 km), making it an easy circular route.

On your way back down from the mountains, consider a stop at the Forest of Pefkias. This shady seaside park sits along the Gulf of Corinth in the town of Xylokastro. Enjoy relaxing amongst the pine trees or swimming at the pebbled beach.

Another way to extend your excursion is to hike the path to the Acrocorinth castle. Along the way, admire the panoramic views of the Corinthian and Saronic Gulfs. You'll quickly realize how important the castle's strategic position was for the city of Corinth, as it controlled major sea routes.
