What you'll do

Enjoy an incredible day trip to Segovia from Madrid, where you'll start your morning soaring through the sky on a hot-air balloon, a unique and memorable way to view the city. After a safety briefing and watching your crew inflate the balloon, you'll hop onboard and take to the skies. With the wind as your engine, watch the sun rise and illuminate Segovia and its many monuments. From over 3,000 feet (1,000 m), you can view the Roman Aqueduct, Cathedral, and Royal Alcazar.

Upon landing, enjoy a little celebration of the excursion with breakfast and a glass of Cava. You'll also receive photos and videos taken during the flight and a certificate signed by your pilot. Then, it's time to explore Segovia on foot. The entire city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering plenty of historical sites to keep you entertained and in awe. A must-see stop includes the city's Roman Aqueduct, Spain's most-important example of Roman engineering. It's also one of the world's best-preserved elevated aqueducts, built in the 1st century.

You'll also visit the Segovia Cathedral, the country's final Gothic buildings, and the fairytale-like palace, the Royal Alcazar. This picturesque fortress clings dramatically to a cliff at the confluence of two rivers, the Sierra de Guadarrama Mountains as its backdrop. Enjoy some free time at the palace, taking in the views and walking around the park. Then, in true Spanish style, sit down for a late lunch before heading back to Madrid. You can try Segovia's traditional dish, cochinillo (suckling pig) if you'd like.
