What you'll do

In the Middle Ages, Toledo was the "city of the three cultures," a place where—legend has it—Christian, Muslim, and Jewish communities peacefully coexisted. You can see remnants of this in the old Arab, Muslim, and Christian monuments that still stand and combine this history with many kid-friendly activities. You have many options for what to see and do, such as learning to make marzipan or ziplining across the city's river. During the day, you'll also attend a sword-making workshop, where you'll learn about Toledo's history of steel and use newfound skills to polish and personalize your own (dull) dagger.

This excursion includes train tickets between Madrid and Toldeo, a quick journey of about 30 minutes. With kids in tow, you may want to book a taxi on your own to get to Atocha train station in Madrid, which will depend on your accommodation. In Toledo, it takes about a 10-minute walk or a 5-minute drive from the train station to the beginning of the Old Town.

The walking tour portion of the day is self-guided, so you can choose what to do in Toledo and how long to spend there, adjusting your experiences to your kids' ages, interests, and needs. Upon booking, we'll provide you with all the practical information you need, plus personalized insider tips on enjoying your visit.
