What you'll do

Toledo is an impressive city worth exploring, even for the youngest travelers. Your private tour guide will take you through the city's history while keeping the little ones entertained with stories and tales of the past. To start, discover why Toledo was the "city of the three cultures," where—legend has it—Christian, Muslim, and Jewish communities peacefully coexist. Then visit remnants of harmony in the old Arab, Muslim, and Christian monuments that still stand.

Many describe Toledo as an open-air museum perfect for curious and energetic kids. You'll follow cobbled streets and twisting alleys to explore monuments like the 15th-century Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, the former Roman palace Alcázar de Toledo, and the Moorish Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, which dates to the 12th century. Listen to exciting stories of royalty, explorers, artisans, and more along the way. And from each of these monuments, you get some pretty cool views of the city below, plus its twisting Río Tajo and the surrounding hillsides.

Another site kids tend to love is the Church of Santo Tomé, thanks to its art and impressive bell tower, both with stories to tell. After the tour, consider walking one of the nature paths along the river for some of the best views in Toldeo, especially now that you're familiar with the city's history. The Ruta de Don Quijote is great for kids and offers nice views at Puerta de Doce Cantos. The Senda Ecológica de Toledo trail is a bit more natural and closer to the river, and you'll still get great views at the Mirador del Puente San Martín.
