What you'll do

The tour starts by meeting your guide in the city center. Get to know your host and a bit about the activity before making your way to the city's famed Atarazanas Market, one of the best in the world. Your guide will lead you down the rows of stalls, where you can indulge in the market's colors, flavors, and atmosphere while experiencing the region's seasonal products and delicacies. Enjoy your bites with quick conversations with the producers, learning about what makes the city's gastronomy so special.

Next, head to a family-owned specialty shop beloved by locals, where the owners will teach you how to distinguish the region's three types of jamón (ham). Málaga features a world-famous variety of ham known as Iberian Bellota, from acorn-fed pigs.

Now it's time for your tapear! A tapas tour is very similar to restaurant hopping, a part of everyday life in Málaga and Spain. As you walk from one eatery to the next, you'll taste various traditional tapas that reflect the local gastronomy, plus those that take on modern and creative twists. One of the city's favorites is the Pil- Pil Prawns Wrap, made by our friend Willy at Uvedoble Taberna. Of course, you can't miss that!

As you eat your way through Málaga's Old Town, your guide will happily tell you about some of the iconic historical sites, monuments, and buildings you'll pass. Though the city is modern, the Old Town is incredibly charming and the perfect setting for your Spanish tapas tour!
