Overview
Kimkim's Take
Pros
- The central location means you can easily walk around the Old Town to nearby cafés and historical sites, like the Begur Castle and Torre de Sant Ramon.
- Enjoy relaxing at the pool (minimum age is 12 years), solarium, or garden, and you'll also have access to a rooftop terrace with 360° views of the hills, castle, and coastline.
- Take part in outdoor morning yoga classes (for an additional fee), offered each Saturday during the summer.
- All rooms include a private balcony or terrace, and there's an option for two-bedroom apartments.
- Breakfast includes a spread featuring local goods.
Cons
- Besides breakfast, you won't find any other meals at the hotel, though the location puts you near the town's main square and restaurants.
Authenticity
Though the hotel takes on a clean, minimalist style, it certainly embraces the relaxed Mediterranean vibes. With a hilltop location, you'll enjoy incredible views of your surroundings and dine on local cuisine each morning for breakfast.Location
You'll be right in the historic center of Begur, on a charming street just across from the Plaça De Pella i Fogars. Nearby are plenty of bars, cafés, and restaurants, and you'll be just a 10-minute walk from Begur Castle. If you have a rental car or hire a transfer to explore the region, the medieval town of Pals, swimming at Cala Sa Tuna, and the Camí de Ronda coastal hiking path are all about 12 minutes away.Rooms & Bathrooms
To channel the calm, tranquil atmosphere of the Costa Brava, rooms feature trendy, minimalist styles with light wood and neutral shades mixed in with dark elements. All rooms offer some sort of private outdoor space, either a Juliet balcony, a larger balcony, or a furnished terrace, many with views of the countryside. Premium rooms add seating areas, and families or groups can book one of the two-bedroom apartments, sleeping up to six guests. Bathrooms are modern and clean and have amenities featuring the hotel's signature scent of bergamot and yerba mate.Amenities
The rooftop terrace is a definite highlight, offering guests a designated outdoor space with panoramic views that include the Begur Castle and Mediterranean coastline. The rooftop features morning yoga classes in the summer (Saturdays only) and serves tapas, regional wine, and unique hand-crafted cocktails. It's a perfect spot for sunset! You can also relax at the outdoor pool and solarium. The hotel is also accessible for wheelchair users as it has elevators and ramps, although no rooms are designed specifically with accessibility in mind.Family-Friendliness
Alta House Begur caters mostly to couples and adults. It welcomes children over 12 and charges a reduced rate for those under 17. However, the minimum age requirement does mean the hotel is unsuitable for families with younger children.Other Highlights
A complimentary breakfast is included in the price of the room, offering a selection of local produce, like cheeses, fruit, and freshly baked bread.Like what you see?
