Pros

  • The hotel has a few historical details to enjoy, like stone archways and bricked walls.
  • The property's ground floor is where you'll find a couple of cozy corners and the breakfast nook, all set under the beautiful stone ceilings.
  • Enjoy an incredibly central location just steps from the town square and a quick walk to the castle and lookout points.
  • Guests can have breakfast each morning, with a pretty impressive spread and a few regional treats, like homemade jams, local olive oil, and vegetables from a nearby garden.

Cons

  • As a small, standard hotel, you won't find any amenities like on-site eateries or a pool.

Authenticity

Set in a rustic house from the 12th century, El Petit Convent Hotel is a small, charming property taking you back to the past. Despite its name, the hotel wasn't a former convent. Instead, it housed a stable on the ground floor (you'll find historic tools still hanging from the ceiling and walls) and family homes on the upper floors.

Location

This historic hotel fits perfectly into its surroundings, as you'll be right in the middle of the medieval center and less than one block from the staircases that lead up to Begur Castle. The hilltop fortress is just a 10-minute walk from the hotel, and Begur's pedestrian streets, lined with eateries and bars, are just steps away. If you want to go to the beach, plan for a 10-minute drive to Fornells or Sa Tuna.

Rooms & Bathrooms

All the rooms are simple and bright with neutral colors, modern furnishings, air conditioning, minifridges, and large windows. Book the double room with a furnished terrace for a little outdoor space. Small groups or those traveling with kids can book the family room, which sleeps up to four guests, includes its own private entrance, and features a sitting room and stone, arched ceilings.

Amenities

The amenities at Hotel El Petit Convent are basic. However, you can relax in the hotel’s reading room with views overlooking the interior courtyard. You’ll also find free tea, coffee, and pastries served here. There is one accessible room on the ground floor with a roll-in shower, and is wheelchair friendly.

Family-Friendliness

Although this boutique hotel is better suited to couples, children of all ages are welcome. There is a family room, but most only cater to two people. Since the hotel is so small, there are no real amenities specifically catering to families or children.

Other Highlights

Although there is no on-site restaurant, there is a complimentary breakfast buffet with local produce served to guests.
