Next door, the adjoining Uile-bheist Distillery and Brewery holds pride of place as the first distillery to open in Inverness in over 100 years, drawing on the River Ness for its green energy, filtered water, and even its name (pronounced ewl-uh-vesht, it's the Scottish Gaelic for "monster.")

You'll stay on the eastern bank of the River Ness, just south of Inverness' historic center and directly across the river from the Inverness Cathedral. It's a 5-minute stroll north to restaurants, shops, and museums, passing Inverness Castle on the slopes above. Favorite local spots like the Victorian Market and Leakey's Bookshop lie 10 minutes north, while a 15-minute walk south connects you with the forested walking paths of the Ness Islands. Parking is available on-site for a nightly fee, and the Inverness railway station (with connections to London and Edinburgh) is a 15-minute walk or a 10-minute taxi ride away.
