Hótel Lækur, Golden Circle

Nice cottages in the countryside, clean and functional.
Good views of sheep grazing in the fields, horses in the distance and creek nearby.

Our favorite of our four accommodations. Set back in the SW countryside surrounded by fields and grazing animals. Dinner and breakfasts were very delicious and filling. We did the riverside cabins which were spacious and quiet. Great place to step outside at night to see the Northern Lights on the last night.

Beautiful place!! Breakfast was a wonderful selection of pastries, eggs, sausage, cereal, juice as well as yogurt, over night oats and a delicious barley based porridge. Dinner was excellent but definitely on the pricey side but we found that to be true of all the hotel provided dinners.

Hótel Lækur was a small farm hotel that served its purpose well. Although we were there just to sleep and have breakfast, the casual atmosphere and friendly service were appreciated. It wasn't as fancy as other places, but it was just what we needed for the night.

Loved the location , staff and restaurant-

One of our favorite hotels we stayed at, the rooms were neat and well prepared, their attached restaurant was wonderful. We enjoyed walking the property and seeing the sheep. Family run business, loved being there.

We stayed in one of the cottages three nights. The cottage was very comfortable. Being two individuals who appreciate country settings, enjoyed seeing horses and sheep from our window. On our way to breakfast, found two sheep on the lawn peacefully munching on greens. Bonus was seeing a border collie on the lawn playing with a soccer ball. Made us think lovingly of our own dog at home.

Would definitely stay here again.

Super quaint hotel out in the middle of a field, but still lovely accommodations!

Yummy, homemade breakfast. Will need an eye mask with summer travel.
