Hotel Reykjavík Saga, Reykjavík

I'm a kimkim staff member and stayed at this hotel for two nights during my Iceland trip. The Saga Hotel is a lovely boutique hotel with simplistic nordic design. It has a very central location. Restaurants, cafes and shops are in a few minutes walking distance. The hotel offers beautiful views over a lake which was frozen and covered in snow when I was there. The rooms are spacious with decent sized bathrooms and walk-in showers with a rain shower. Comfy bathrobes and slippers are provided. Each room is equipped with a nespresso coffee machine, a kettle, variety of teas, cups, glasses, a little fridge, ironing facilities and a smart TV. The highlight for me was the little platter with local chocolates and grapes which was prepared on my room as a welcome gift!
The hotel has a restaurant and bar area where breakfast is served in the morning and a la carte dinner in the evening. Hotel guests receive 10% discount in the restaurant.
The breakfast is served in buffet style and offers a variety of local Icelandic products such as Skyr yoghurt, smoked salmon, Icelandic butter, bread and cheeses and freshly baked pastries. Additionally, a choice of freshly prepared eggs, bacon, sausages was available as well as fruits, nuts, cereals, fresh juices, ginger shots, tea and coffee. Only the buffet area is kept on a small space and can get cramped during the busy breakfast hours.
The hotel has a small fitness room equipped with a treadmill, cross-trainer, bike, one bench and some free-weights. The little wellness area of a Finish Sauna, a steam room and a quiet chill-out area. The gym and sauna area is open from 7am in the morning, however the staff opened it once at 6am for me as I had to leave early in the morning. In general every staff member I spoke to was super friendly and helpful and welcomed everyone with a warm, genuine smile!

Good location. New and very clean. Appreciated the AC because it was a hot day!

In the center of the city, wonderfully comfortable beds, absolutely delicious breakfast buffet with breads, pastries, yogurt, nuts, cereals, eggs, sausages, gluten free bread....

The Hotel Reykjavík Saga was a great choice for our stay in Reykjavik. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and offered a great variety. It was one of the highlights of our accommodations during this trip.
