Beachfront boutique hotel offering stylish rooms with terraces, a swimming pool, and a full-service spa

Overview

Situated on Naxos, the largest and greenest of the Cycladic islands, Liana Beach Hotel & Spa offers a tranquil beachfront escape in the village of Agios Prokopios. Guests can step across the street to relax on the hotel's private stretch of beach, or stroll 10 minutes along the waterfront to the golden sands of the popular Agia Anna. The 22+ rooms feature chic, whitewashed interiors with private terraces, and some include plunge-pool style hot tubs with sea views. Other on-site amenities include a full-service spa, an outdoor pool, an open-air restaurant, and a homemade breakfast served in the sunny garden.

Kimkim's Take

Pros
  • You'll be staying in a beachfront location in the quiet village of Agios Prokopios, within walking distance of local shops and restaurants.
  • The hotel features a stretch of private beach with loungers and umbrellas for guests.
  • Rooms are modern and soundproofed, all with private terraces or balconies and some with sea views and hot tubs.
  • An on-site spa offers a range of treatments as well as a sauna, steam bath, and Jacuzzi.
  • The hotel's outdoor pool has a separate children's area and a bar serving drinks throughout the day.
  • A complimentary breakfast is offered each morning in the garden, and the hotel's seafront restaurant serves Greek-inspired dishes for lunch and dinner.
Cons
  • The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Naxos Town, though this means a quieter setting and fewer crowds.
  • Past guests have mentioned mosquitoes can be an annoyance on the terraces, but each room features a repellent device.
  • Some of the ground-floor double rooms are semi-basement level, but the bright interiors and large private patios keep them from feeling dark.

Authenticity

Perched on a quiet road overlooking a stretch of private beach, Liana Beach Hotel & Spa's whitewashed, two-story villa fits right in with the island's traditional Cycladic aesthetic. Inside, natural textures like stone and driftwood echo surrounding landscapes, while pale greens and blues match the Aegean views. Thoughtful details set this small, boutique property apart from the standard beach resort—each of the rooms is named after a character from Greek mythology, the homemade breakfast includes local products like fragrant Naxian honey, and the friendly staff is known to go above and beyond for guests.

Location

Situated just south of Naxos Town in the quieter, quaint seaside village of Agios Prokopios, Liana Beach Hotel & Spa feels like a peaceful escape while still being convenient to most island attractions. It's a few short steps across the road to the hotel's private beach, complete with sun loungers and umbrellas, and a 5-minute stroll to nearby shops, tavernas, and local cafés. Naxos Town (or "Chora") and its ferry port are an easy 10-minute drive or 15-minute bus ride away, and the small Naxos airport is under 10 minutes by car. Free private parking is available on-site at the hotel.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Each of the hotel's 20+ accommodations is unique, from ground-floor doubles to multi-bedroom suites that sleep eight. All feature private terraces or balconies (some with sea views and hot tubs), air-conditioning, and Nespresso machines. Cool tile floors and whitewashed walls keep the interiors feeling airy and bright, while exposed beams, painted wooden doors, arched ceilings, and raw stone accents add character. Bathrooms feature walk-in showers and are equipped with toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers. There are accessible rooms available on the ground floor, but the upper floors are accessed by stairs.

Amenities

Beyond its stretch of private beach with loungers and umbrellas, the hotel also features a large pool in its central courtyard, with an adjoining shallow children's area and an all-day bar. You'll find the entrance to the spa nearby, a small but inviting sanctuary that offers wellness treatments alongside a sauna, steam bath, and Jacuzzi. There's also a petite basement gym where guests can book a session with the personal trainer. A complimentary al fresco breakfast is served each morning in the garden, and the on-site restaurant serves Greek-inspired dishes in an open-air dining room with sea views.

Family-Friendliness

Families are warmly welcomed at Liana Beach Hotel & Spa. There's a children's area in the pool and a garden space that offers plenty of room to run and play. The restaurant serves a children's menu, and rooms are soundproofed for a peaceful stay. Families can request cribs and extra beds at no additional cost, and in-room babysitting is available for a fee. Larger room options, like the Executive and Elite suites, can accommodate families comfortably.

Liana Beach Hotel was a gem in Naxos. We had one room for our family of 5, but everyone slept comfortably. 3 couch beds, 1 bedroom, and 2 bathrooms. We enjoyed the amenities like the pool, spa, etc. Beach chairs on the beach were nice and there are enough that you are not fighting to get a seat. Anytime of the day you could catch a lounger or two. Only note is the beach chairs are on a public beach, so it is very crowded, but it's at the far end of the beach so not as crowded as some of the... Read more

Although I didn’t get a chance to try a spa treatment, their spa has a fantastic reputation and looks fabulous!

The jacuzzis in the rooms are set at 80 ° F . Upon request, they raised the temperature of the one in my room. However, it only increased a few degrees. So, it's best not to expect the hot tub temperatures we have in the U.S.
