Cyano Suites, Naxos

Kimkim team favorite · 4.7 (18 reviews) · Mid-Range
Quiet boutique suites with private balconies, sea and Temple of Apollo views, and homemade breakfast

Overview

Set in a small, two-story building with only five suites (some outfitted with private hot tubs), Cyano Suites fits into its island surroundings, thanks to its traditional Cycladic style, characterized by whitewashed stone walls and alcoves. Guests will find themselves in the Grotta area of Naxos Town, close to many of the key attractions and restaurants, yet far enough from the action that their stay remains peaceful. But it's the views of the Temple of Apollo that past kimkim travelers rave about most. Amenities are a bit thin as there's no pool, spa, or gym, but the owner is friendly and attentive, and the property is also great for families (under 18s get to stay for free!).

Kimkim's Take

Based on kimkim staff visit, August 2025 (Learn more)
Pros
  • You'll be just a 10-minute walk from Naxos Town landmarks like the Venetian Castle and the Portara (Temple of Apollo).
  • The suites offer stunning views of the Aegean Sea and the Temple of Apollo, especially from the upper floors.
  • Each suite features a private balcony, with some offering personal hot tubs.
  • The hotel's traditional Cycladic style, with its whitewashed walls and stone accents, offers a charming and authentic Greek island vibe.
  • Families will appreciate the spacious suites, which accommodate up to five people, with kids under 18 staying free when using existing beds.
  • Breakfast is a homemade buffet-style feast at the sister property, Hotel Adriani, just a short walk away.
Cons
  • Although the hotel doesn't have a pool, some rooms come with private hot tubs.
  • The hotel lacks a visible lobby or signage, making it initially difficult to locate, while check-in is at nearby Hotel Adriani.
  • There isn't an elevator on the property.

Authenticity

Cyano Suites reflects the traditional Cycladic style, characterized by whitewashed walls and stone features. The suites are adorned with simple, earthy decor, drawing inspiration from the Greek island aesthetic. You'll wake up to beautiful views of the Aegean Sea and the Temple of Apollo, which previous kimkim travelers have highlighted as the most memorable aspect of their stay. While the hotel doesn't have its own restaurant, you can enjoy a home-cooked breakfast of local dishes at the sister property, Hotel Adriani, around the corner—it may just remind you of the comfort and flavor of a Greek family kitchen.

Location

Located just outside the center of Naxos Town, Cyano Suites offers a peaceful stay with easy access to the island's lively culture. The Portara, or Temple of Apollo, is just a 10-minute walk, as is the Venetian Castle. In the same amount of time, stroll the waterfront restaurants and shops of Naxos' port. Favorite beaches like Agia Anna and Plaka are 15-20 minutes away by car, while impressive sights like the fallen Faragi Kouros statue are 20 minutes away.

Rooms & Bathrooms

The hotel's five suites, each with a unique layout, follow the traditional Cycladic style of whitewashed walls, arches, and rounded wall corners, decorated minimally with natural elements such as wood floors and rattan decorative pieces. All include balconies with clear views of the sea and Portara, perfect for watching the sunset. The Grand and Premium Suites feature an indoor hot tub, while the Junior, as well as the Grand Suites, have exposed bathtubs in the living area. If you need more space or are traveling with family, the Grand and Premium Suites include multiple sofa beds.

Amenities

While there are few amenities (no pool, spa, gym, or parking), Cyano's standout feature is the view of the Aegean Sea and the Temple of Apollo. The property's location allows for easy exploration of nearby attractions, and the inclusion of a homemade breakfast, with Greek specialties like tiropita (cheese pie) and portokalopita (orange cake), at sister hotel, Adriani, helps to make up for the lack of amenities. There's also no elevator access to the second-story units. Bathrooms are equipped with Yves Rocher products.

Family-Friendliness

Children of all ages are welcome at the hotel, and those under 18 can even stay for free when using existing beds! Some of the larger suites have multiple sofa beds, ideal for larger parties. The Grand Suite with Private Jacuzzi sleeps up to five guests, and cribs for infants under two can be provided free of charge upon request.

I am a kimkim staff member, and I recently stayed here during a work trip. I absolutely loved my stay at Cyano Suites. The highlight of my stay was the private front patio, where I enjoyed panoramic views of the sea and unforgettable sunsets over the Temple of Apollo. Truly magical.

Breakfast is served at their charming sister property just around the corner, and it was delicious. Homemade Greek specialties like tiropita, spanakopita, portokalopita, baked egg dishes, local cheeses, and fresh fruit. It felt like eating in a Greek family kitchen.

Cyano Suites is an easy walk to Naxos Town for restaurants and shops, and close to a couple of beaches (better for strolling than swimming). The views are stunning, the atmosphere is peaceful, and I highly recommend staying here.

Our room was gorgeous and unique. We took room photos to remember it always. The view was fabulous. The only problem was that we had to walk to a sister restaurant for breakfast. We had to reach him by phone. These factors made us a bit uncomfortable because it so unusual. Knowing this now, I would not hestitate to return here. The suite was gorgeous— as was the view.
