Wonderful environment and kind staff!
We loved this hotel. Best one of our trip
This hotel was my favorite. It was beautiful, close to everything, clean.
Perfect for anyone to enjoy Agios Prokopois beach.
Great location. Minutes from shops and the beach. Bus stop super close that you can take into Choros, though the hotel does also offer shuttle service.... Read more
Overview
Kimkim's Take
- Past kimkim guests give the staff here top marks for hospitality and charm, whether they're helping you find the best spot in town for dinner or setting you up with towels and a rental bike for some beach hopping.
- The location is ideal for those looking to explore the island without a car: Agios Prokopios Beach is a 5-minute walk away, and the bus to Naxos Town stops directly across the street from the hotel.
- The airy rooms channel classic Cycladic design while still feeling stylish and modern (think textured, organic materials like linen and rattan, curved whitewashed walls, and accents of honey-colored Naxian timber), and each includes a private furnished balcony or terrace.
- Breakfast here is a cut above the usual buffet, with lots of home-cooked island pastries and treats.
- Families will find plenty of room configurations to choose from, including two-bedroom adjoining units and a suite that sleeps up to five comfortably.
- The pool is on the small side and unheated; you won't be swimming laps here, but it offers plenty of room for a refreshing dip.
Authenticity
Melidron Hotel & Suites was built in 2018, incorporating classic cubist Cycladic architecture that looks right at home among the arid Naxian landscapes. Whitewashed buildings are linked by smooth, stone paths, and interiors channel the island's natural palette with shades of flax, honey, and sage. Owner/manager Evie is the heart of this family-run operation—if you miss her warm welcome at reception, you're sure to find her serving freshly-baked Naxian pastries in the breakfast room or doling out local tips and beach towels to guests heading for the beach.
Location
The hotel is located in Agios Prokopios, roughly 3 miles (5 km) south of Naxos Town. Quieter than the island capital, this small seaside village is popular for its eponymous beach, considered one of the loveliest on the island. You can walk to the fine sands and turquoise waters in under 5 minutes, and you'll find plenty of shops, tavernas, local cafés, and a dive shop nearby. Naxos Town (or "Chora") and its ferry port are a 10-minute drive or bus ride (the bus stops right across from the hotel), and you can reach the small Naxos airport in under 10 minutes by car. Free private parking is available across the street from the hotel.
Rooms & Bathrooms
The 29 air-conditioned rooms and suites offer a stylish take on classic Cycladic design, incorporating whitewashed walls and warm wood accents with COCO-MAT mattresses, pottery pendant lamps, and natural textures like rattan, linen, and macramé. Bathrooms feature carved stone sinks, rain-style showers, and olive-based toiletries, and all rooms include private balconies or terraces (request a sea-facing option for the best views). The smallest Standard units are compact but airy, while larger Suites sleep five with two bedrooms and a sofa bed. There's one accessible room available for guests with limited mobility.
Amenities
Daily life revolves around the pool area, where you'll find a small swimming pool, an adjoining hot tub, plenty of sun loungers, and a poolside restaurant-bar serving traditional island fare. Breakfast is included in the rate and served here or in the nearby breakfast room; expect an above-average buffet of continental classics and freshly baked Naxian treats. Staff get top marks from guests for their friendly, helpful service, and are happy to arrange shuttle pickups, help you rent one of the hotel's fleet of wooden COCO-MAT bikes, or book an in-room massage. A small gym is also available to guests.
Family-Friendliness
Children are welcome here. The location is ideal for a family holiday, with restaurants, shops, and the beach within easy walking distance, and a warm staff that makes sure even the littlest guests feel welcome. Children 18 and above are charged as adults, and cribs can be added to rooms for free. There are several room configurations that will work for larger groups, including Family units on the ground floor that sleep four with two interconnected bedrooms.
