Modern waterfront hotel bordering La Caleta beach, with sleek, sea-view rooms, multiple pools, a spa, and two restaurants

Overview

Parador de Cádiz is ideal for guests seeking sweeping sea views and a more contemporary stay within easy reach of the Old Town. Set at the western edge of the historic center, this modern glass-and-steel structure overlooks the Bay of Cádiz, just a short stroll from the neighboring La Caleta beach. Sleek and stylish rooms feature floor-to-ceiling glass walls and private terraces, and guests can lounge around the infinity pools, dine on tapas and local seafood at the on-site restaurants, or book a hydrotherapy treatment at the glass-fronted spa.

Pros
  • The hotel overlooks the water at the western edge of Old Town Cádiz, just steps from La Caleta beach and 15 minutes from most central landmarks.
  • The modern design (with lots of steel and glass) maximizes the sea views, with panoramic vistas from almost every room.
  • All rooms open onto private balconies, with floor-to-ceiling bifold glass doors, contemporary decor, and handy technology like electric blackout blinds and touchpad lighting.
  • Choose from four outdoor pools, all set on an elevated wooden deck with loungers, a seasonal bar, and Bay of Cádiz views.
  • The glass-fronted spa includes hydrotherapy, a heated indoor pool, and a steam room.
  • Guests have two dining options: elevated regional flavors and seafood at the Restaurante Parador de Cádiz, or more casual tapas on the terrace at La Tacita del Atlántico.
Cons
  • The outdoor pools are seasonal and only open from mid-June through September.
  • Balconies are separated from neighbors by low, glass partitions, so you won't have much privacy.
  • While the hotel is relatively quiet, the common areas can become busy due to the many guests.
  • Spa entry isn't included in the stay, but guests pay a reduced rate.

Authenticity

This gleaming glass-and-steel structure is a rare departure from the state-owned Parador collection, better known for its historic stays. Though it's built upon the site of one of Cádiz's most storied hotels (the 1929 Hotel Atlántico), the seven-story building has a futuristic feel, with soaring ceilings and glass walls that maximize the water's-edge setting. Sculptural lighting, rippling marble, and wooden accents add a touch of ocean-inspired character to the interiors, but the overall effect is resolutely contemporary—ideal for guests seeking spectacular views and modern amenities over more historic Old Town options.

Location

You'll stay at the far western edge of Cádiz's island-like Old Town, tucked between the golden sands of La Caleta and the urban green space of Parque Genovés. The location places you a little farther from the action of the historic center, but you can still stroll to landmarks like the Torre Tavira and the Cathedral in around 15 minutes, and reach the train station and the port in half an hour. Parking is available in the on-site garage for a fee (which includes an EV charging station).

Rooms & Bathrooms

Most of the 124 rooms face the Bay of Cádiz, with floor-to-ceiling glass walls (complete with electric blackout blinds) that open onto private balconies. The decor is sleek and modern, with glossy tile floors, modular furniture, and pale shades of sea green and gray. Standard units are the most compact; upper-story Superiors offer the best views, while Junior Suites add a separate living area. Bathrooms make clever use of space, with frosted-glass walls, vessel sinks, and rain-style showers (some upgraded rooms include deep soaking tubs). There are also two accessible rooms for guests with limited mobility.

Amenities

The hotel centers on a vast, elevated deck area, offering panoramic views of the bay from each of the four unheated infinity pools, the surrounding sun loungers, and the seasonal pool bar. Inside, you'll find a fitness room and a spa with a hydrotherapy circuit, heated indoor pool, sauna, and steam room. Dining options include elevated (but pricey) regional flavors at the glass-fronted Restaurante Parador de Cádiz, and a more casual tapas bar with a terrace that's perfectly placed to watch the sunset. Breakfast is included in the rate, with plenty of local and seasonal treats alongside the classic continental options.

Family-Friendliness

Children are welcome at Parador de Cádiz, but those over the age of three are charged as adults, and the glass balconies aren't ideal for families with young children. Extra beds can be added to larger rooms for an added fee; for more room, book the Junior Suite, which sleeps 3-4 with an extra sofa bed. A dedicated kids' club operates during the summer, and there's a separate children's pool area, a kid-friendly menu, and babysitting services upon request. The hotel is stroller-friendly, with elevators for easy access.

A modern hotel right on the waterfront, with incredible views, large rooms and wonderful staff.
All the amenities you could want in the room.
We didn't eat there, since the town is right across the street.
Bed was large, comfortable and lots of pillows. They also have a large patio on the top floor with great views. The hotel overlooks a large urban park as well.
Great breakfast as well, hot and cold foods.

The Minister of the Interior was using it for a few days to hold a big important conference--that's how luxe this place is. Recommended!!
