Azores trip in August

A couple looking to visit the Azores in August 2017

“We are a couple in our 30s looking to get a bit of beach relaxation, hikes, good food, unique and interesting hotels, whale watching and perhaps touring a tea and pineapple farm. We might have 10 days.”

Cátia Chaves, a local specialist from the Azores, helped this traveler put together a customized itinerary.

Hi, welcome to kimkim.

Thank you for contacting us to help you plan a great trip to the Azores I would be happy to put together some initial ideas and help make all arrangements for your trip.

With about 10 days, I would recommend that you visit more than one island. San Miguel will be the easiest to access from BOS, and you will find lots to do there, including the tea plantation. You could split your time between San Miguel and Terceira, or you could also spend about 4-5 days on San Miguel and then also visit some of the "triangle islands" of Pico, Faial, and San Jorge, each which is unique in its own way (each would deserve 2-3 days).

I will also attach some more information about some of the highlights of San Miguel.
