Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Lombok, Transfer to Kuta

Southern Lombok is renowned for its beautiful beaches

Welcome to Lombok, a small Indonesian island located right next to Bali, widely known for its rugged, mountainous landscapes, towering waterfalls, and tasty food. Upon arrival, you'll hop in with your private driver before being transported to the southern region of Kuta, which will take around 30 minutes by car. This coastal town boasts spectacular scenery and idyllic beaches, and is a central base for surfers on the island thanks to the excellent year-round surfing conditions.

After checking in, you'll have some free time to explore. If you're not too tired from your journey, you can walk or hop in a taxi to explore the nearby beaches. Southern Lombok beaches are known for being some of the prettiest on the island, and because it's still a relatively lesser-explored area of the world in terms of tourism, you can expect to be greeted by locals and children with open arms. Spend some time relaxing on the powder white sand under the canopy of palm trees with a fresh coconut in hand.

Day 2: Explore the Southern Beaches

After waking up and enjoying a leisurely breakfast, you'll be picked up and driven to the southern beaches. You can explore countless beaches on the island, but the south is home to some of the best.

You'll drive via the scenic route to enjoy the panoramic sea views from your window, before having ample time to relax and unwind on the beach. You might even want to pitch up under the shade of a coconut tree. If you're more of a get-up-and-go thrill-seeker, there's also the option to rent a surfboard and try your hand at a spot of surfing.

Day 3: Snorkel in Gili Nanggu, Gili Sudak & Gili Kedis

The waters surrounding Gili Air are teeming with marine life

Fuel up on a hearty Indonesian breakfast before checking out of your accommodation and setting off to meet your driver at 9 am, ready for your drive to Tawun Harbor. Upon arrival, you'll hop onboard a traditional local fishing boat, where you'll embark on your trip to explore Gili Nanggu, Sudak, and Kedis.

The Gilli islands are known for their picture-perfect beaches and waters brimming with diverse marine life, meaning there are some excellent snorkeling opportunities. The waters are chock with everything from seahorses and starfish to blue-spotted stingrays and schools of humphead parrotfish. Post-snorkel, you'll have the opportunity to soak up the sun on the beach in Gili Kedis, a small heart-shaped island you can walk across in about 15 minutes. Top tip: ask your captain to take you to the spot where you can see schools of colorful clownfish.

Day 4: Explore Lombok's Coast by Boat

A Glimpse of Pink Beach
A glimpse of Pink Beach

This morning you'll have the option of visiting a nearby fish market before meeting with a local fisherman for a day exploring Lombok's unspoiled coast. Sail to small, deserted coves and make a stop at the famous Tangsi Beach. Better known as "Pink Beach," this stunning stretch of rose-hued sand gets its color from the remains of vibrant corals from its neighboring reef. After an unforgettable day swimming, snorkeling, and fishing off the boat, return to shore where your driver will be waiting to take you back to the hotel.

Day 5: Soft Trekking In Tetebatu

Connect with nature at Lombok's spectacular rice paddies peppered around the island

Your driver will pick you up in the early morning for a drive to Tetebatu, a lesser-explored village home to hidden waterfalls and rice fields backed by the craggy Mount Rinjani (the second-highest volcano in Indonesia). En route, you'll see plenty of traditional rice terraces before setting out on a leisurely hike in the mountains. Afterward, your guide will take you to explore the region's magnificent waterfalls, where you'll have ample time to relax and rejuvenate under towering cascades amid the lush forests.

The last part of your day will be spent visiting the picturesque Pringgasela village, the center of weaving in Lombok. Spend some time wandering around, taking in the sights of the women working on their weaving loom, and perhaps even purchase a beautiful handmade cloth to take back home with you. After exploring the village, you'll be taken back to your hotel for an afternoon at your leisure.

Day 6: Depart Lombok

See if you can catch a glimpse of Mount Rinaji on your flight back home

Enjoy your final morning on Lombok's picture-perfect beaches. When the time comes, your private driver will take you to Lombok Airport to catch your departing flight. Safe travels!
