Kimkim Trip Reviews for Morocco

First of all, the assistance Yassine provided from the day I made contact with him was fantastic. He worked with me to build a trip that would meet all of our needs and the response time was immediate and the details provided were perfect to enable me to make decisions about our trip.

Secondly, our driver in Morocco, Hassan, was so incredibly sweet and basically worked for us 24/7 to make sure we saw everything we wanted to see, made sure we were always well taken care of and was always honest, cheerful, and gracious.

Thirdly, the accommodations were spectacular, from the cozy spot in Chefchaouen to the lavish Dar Roumana in Fes and Riad Bellamane in Marrakech. The rooms and service at each location were above and beyond our expectations.

Our favorite spot was Chechchaouen, were we hiked to the Spanish mosque at sunrise, returned to our hotel for a lovely breakfast, and then toured the city. Hassan provided us with a guide at the last minute, Youssef, and Youssef was a local who spent 2 hours with us touring the medina and explaining everything about the gorgeous blue city.

Our stop at Volubilis was an unexpected delight as well--we spent an hour walking through the well preserved ruins of an ancient Roman city with no other tourists around. A lunch of delicious couscous on an outside terrace at a hillside restaurant in Moulay Idriss completed this stop en route to Fes.

In Fes, we had a delicious meal at Dar Roumana and a full day tour where we saw all of the key sights. Finishing the day at a Hammam, followed by a delicious dinner at Maison Blanche/MB and a drink at the gorgeous rooftop of Hotel Sahrai completed our visit to Fes.

The long ride to Marrakech was a bit more than we expected, but the scenery was interesting and we made it a beautiful Riad and went off exploring the medina--much more commercial and crowded but still interesting. The restaurants and cafe scene is much more active in Marrakech, but it remained our least favorite spot due to the crowds and overall tourist feel and carnival aspect of the famous Djema el Fna square. The YSL museum was a highlight, and we went first thing in the morning and beat the crowds and enjoyed seeing his designs and info on his incredibly creative life.

I highly recommend booking with Yassine if you want a completely no-hassle trip with all details taken care of, as well as the flexibility of a private service at the highest level.

KimKim was fantastic! The remote planning process was simple and seamless, working within my budget to optimize my time spent in Morocco. Megan’s itinerary hit all of the major highlights with some hidden gems along the way. This included a night in the majestic city of Chefchouen, a hidden cafe here and there, and a tour of the biggest garden in Marrakech. All of the guides were knowledgeable and respectful. At no time as a solo traveller did I feel pressured or unsafe.

Omar my driver was also sensational! He had remarkable driving skills for the chaos of the city streets, the winding curves of the mountains, and the blind turns of the medinas. He was not only able to safely get me to where I needed to go but was able to entertain and delight along the way. He was even considerate enough to invite me to meet his mother in Ouarzazate, and he purchased a birthday cake for my birthday in the Sahara! My trip was truly made extra memorable by his presence.

My partner and I wanted somewhere warm to visit in November, with good views and lots to see and explore. Morocco certainly delivered and we couldn’t have organised the trip without kimkim and Morocco Immersion.
We’re busy working people and didn’t have enough time to independently research where to go, what to do in Morocco and investigate what’s feasible to achieve in one week. The process of booking the trip through kimkim was smooth and easy. Sharon, our tour organiser, was so helpful throughout and even when we changed our minds endlessly on what we could achieve in a week of visiting Morocco, she was incredibly patient and accommodating to our changing preferences. Sharon made sure the holiday was tailored to what we wanted and gave great advice on where we should visit and what we should do. Given Sharon was a real expert in the area, her suggestions were invaluable so that we got exactly what we wanted out of the holiday.
We decided on having 1 full day in Marrakech before moving on to explore the Atlas Mountains, Sahara Desert and surrounding areas for 4 days of travelling. The final 2 days of the tour would see us return to Marrakech for some ‘downtime’ so that we could explore the fascinating city in our own time.
We had a private driver for the duration of the trip, Hicham, who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time possible without having to stress about what we were doing each day. In each location we visited, a local tour guide would greet us and take us on some incredible adventures. The organisation and transition to each individual tour was flawless. We’d arrive in a new location and within 5 minutes, we were whisked off to ride camels, walk through bustling markets, eat dates from palm trees and visit movie sets!
Morocco Immersion who gave us the tour were incredible. Hicham was so kind and considerate - he took us to all the best spots for great photos and was so careful not to impose, ensuring we still had alone time as well. Our favourite part of the tour was the night in the desert, which we travelled to by camel while the sun was setting. The sunrise the next day was simply stunning as well; a moment we’ll never forget admiring the sun rising only surrounded by the Saharan sand.

There was a lot of driving on the trip but it didn’t feel too bad as it was constantly broken up by regular stops and guided tours along the way. Marrakech can feel quite overwhelming as a tourist, however with a guide it’s far better. Through kimkim and Morocco Immersion, we really were provided with a truly immersive experience they promise, enabling us to learn about the culture, the history and fall in love with the beautiful country. Our trip to Morocco was nothing short of amazing. We have never traveled with a guided tour and now I'm questioning why we haven't. Abdellah was awesome from the very beginning, communicating everything we needed to do in order to prepare for our trip. He was available anytime we needed him throughout our vacation as well which meant so much to us. I had left a precious luxury item at Tiziri camp which was rather far from where we were headed yet Abdellah and Karim made sure I had it in my hands before I left for the states. I can't say enough amazing things about this team as they made my family's trip very memorable. While Abdellah worked behind the scenes to ensure everything went smoothly, Karim executed everything beautifully and pretty much made our entire trip so memorable. If you decide to go to Morocco, staying overnight at Tiziri Luxury camp is a must, especially the camel trek to the site. The experience was surreal and unlike anything else. One thing I would change about our itinerary would be the hotel/riad accommodations. If you're used to luxurious, western hotel rooms, I would suggest staying at a riad for the experience 1-2 days then request a 5-star hotel the rest of the trip. Although the riads were stunning, I prefer hotels but hopefully next time (soon)! I would definitely book another trip with KimKim again! Our trip was wonderful. Our driver Faysal was by our side throughout the trip. Other than in Casablanca, all our hotels and Riads were exceptional. Riad Lina in Chefchaouen and Riad Passali were the best. Every day was planned well, with time to tour and rest. Faysal was very attentive and helpful. He knew the roads, ATM's well. His took us to a store to get scarves and water before the nights in the Sahara. Cannot thank him enough for everything he did for us.
This is one of the best trips we have had.

Hakim did a wonderful job planning our vacation. He was very responsive to our feedback and worked with us to create an itinerary that suited everyone's needs. A night in the Sahara was a highlight of the trip where we enjoyed a beautiful cloudless night of star gazing. Getting to the Sahara involved a lot of driving so we were happy to have the company of our driver, Said, who brought joy to our long van rides. We got to stop at many attractions along the way to break up the drive. Exploring Ait Benhaddou was tons of fun and I was glad to have stopped to take the studio tour in Ouarzazate (never would have thought to stop there without the help of kimkim). All of our accommodations were lovely, especially Dar Azam in Marrakech - Omar and Sana (employees or Dar Azam) were extremely welcoming.

Our trip was amazing from start to finish. Sharon was incredibly responsive each time I had a question and made some great suggestions that helped make our trip perfect. In fact, Sharon’s helpful and quick responses are the reason we chose Kim Kim and Morocco Immersions as our tour group. Even though it was our first trip to Morocco, it felt like we were visiting family. Hicham was an informative guide, and went out of his way at every chance to make our trip perfect. He narrated our drive to the desert through the High Atlas Mountains with the history of Morocco as it passed by our window. It was the best history lesson ever! The camel excursion was a highlight, and the luxury campsite in the heart of the desert was unbelievable. We had local guides in each of the cities we visited, and all were informative and sweet. Ait-Ben-Haddou was another highlight. Our Riad in Marrakech was beautiful, and right off the Jemma-al-Fenna square. We wandered Marrakech right from our bedroom door. From start to finish, this was the trip of a lifetime. Thank you to Sharon and her family for everything!

The whole Morocco trip was a memorable - from its rich history to the sensory delights, my travel buddy and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there. This itinerary was good for a taste of Morocco - we would recommend taking local walking tours and while you're at it, pester your guide for history and local anecdotes. And where they would eat, while you're touring the Souk. ^_^

We mostly stayed in the Medina to allow ourselves to be immersed in old Morocco (as opposed to life in the new cities). The desert camp was probably our most spectacular memory: Where else would you experience utter silence, or moon so bright that you don't need a torch to walk in the middle of the night, or sky so clear that you see galaxies and shooting stars (when the moon isn't so bright, that is!) The Riads we stayed in were all comfortable and full of character. We also experienced the local Hammam (traditional bath) - unforgettable! Definitely ask for the full traditional version if you can.

Our driver was Karim from Original Travel, he was warm and friendly throughout the tour. As a glutton for knowledge I personally hoped for more information though - eg we'd have pitstops and quite often we just got out of the car to take photos, with little or no explanation of the significance of these locations. Our local walking guides however were well-versed in local knowledge and history, knew the Medina like the back of their hands and were able to answer any questions we threw at them.

We had amazing memories of Morocco ... The tour was fairly standard in terms of itinerary - some of my friends who went to Morocco over 10 years ago said they pretty much did the same tour. For the uninitiated - it is not for beginner travellers, especially if you're not expecting the rampant aggressive pestering while in the souk. Having a guide helped a bit, as we received less pestering while walking with a local. Will I return? Yes, though will likely do it on my own, and have longer stays in one location to really take things in.

Megan has been extremely helpful with the planning and booking processes of our Moroccan trip. She's very organized and responds to all my questions in a very timely manner. She's very patient with my 0 knowledge about the country. I highly recommend her expertise to all others who plan to visit Morocco. Thank you Megan!
To our driver/guide, Omar, my friends and I couldn't be more grateful for his professionalism and compassion for his craft. He welcomed us with a big smile on his face. He's always on time. Made sure we are all safe and comfortable. He treated us as his family (where he welcomed us to his humble abode in Rose Valley - much respect for this Berber family, such a beautiful one! ). He was very patient with our last minute requests. Even if he already dropped us off at our riad, he kept sending messages throughout the night just to make sure we are doing great. Our stay wouldn't be this awesome if not with him. With that, Omar, we are extremely grateful!
We would also want to commend, Emily from the private riad at the desert for being the nicest and caring and hospitable. She welcomed us with open arms, cooked good food for us, chitchatted with us during our stay. We love that she's so cool and sweet that we feel like we could have stayed longer and enjoyed her company and that of the serenity of the desert.
All riads and hotel we stayed at were all superb. There were a few mishaps but doesn't outweigh its beauty and the staff's professionalism. The riads will absolutely make you feel like you are in a different place and era.
Overall, the experience was one for the books. Something me and my friends will definitely treasure for the rest of our lives. Thanks to Kimkim and Wanderlust Voyages! Kudos to all! Keep it up!

We visited Morocco in October for 1 week and had an amazing time! Megan was professional, responsive and always willing to help us with last minute adjustments to the trip. Our tour guide while on the trip, Omar, was wonderful and always went above and beyond to make sure the trip was special and memorable for us - he has a great playlist which made even the long-drives enjoyable,
and he was always a willing photographer to help capture every moment. The highlight of the trip was definitely the day we spent glamping in the desert driving ATVs and riding camels during the sunset.

We had a great time working with Sharon in planning our desert experience in Morocco. We were even more fortunate to have an amazing driver, Sallam, who took us through our trip. We could not have asked for a better driver/guide. Sallam was extremely warm and personable. He was flexible when we wanted to change plans. Sallam did a remarkable job of knowing when to share stories/sights while also knowing when to give us time to relax. He adjusted his driving based on our comfort level. Sallam was not only a wonderful guide but he is now a friend that we plan to keep in touch with. He made the experience much more enjoyable especially given how long of a drive it was.

Overall, the desert experience was very fun. The camel ride was very nice and the sand dunes were beautiful. The camp was very nice and we were looking forward to enjoying the experience under the stars at night. However, unfortunately the high winds caused us to have to stay inside. The amenities were above expectations with the nice toilet and shower. We were a bit disappointed to not have more time at the camp in the morning. After breakfast, we were quickly pushed to pack up and leave the site. We expected more time in the morning to enjoy the desert in peace.

Overall it was a very nice experience. The driving time was a bit much but the Camp was quite nice. Sallam made the experience so much more enjoyable for us. He was the best driver/guide we could have asked for.

I have to say that this trip was well planned and organized and Yassine was available to our group for any questions we had. The gem of our trip was our driver, guide, security, translator and now friend Mohammed he made our trip amazing, we had over 22 hours of driving and he made us feel safe and assisted us along the way.

Yassine curated an amazing trip for my group of 6. From the very start of the planning he was extremely responsive and helpful in organizing the entire trip. I can safely say that each one of us had a fantastic time on this trip! The trip was better than we all expected and Mohammed, our driver was just amazing. We are all more than happy with the service we received, especially the fast response to any issues that may have occurred. The entire trip went smoothly and the only thing we would change would be to spend and extra night in the sahara! The boys especially loved the sahara, and we were very grateful to Mohammed for being flexible with us and allowing us extra time there to ride the quads/dune buggies on both days. Every single accommodation was just breathtakingly beautiful and we enjoyed the coziness and personalization of all the riads. The guides in both Fes and Marrakesh were very helpful in navigating those two big cities. Hakim (our guide in Fes) was especially helpful in taking us to places to buy specific items we wanted to take home, we would never have found those places on our own. Needless to say we came away from this trip with a experience of a lifetime and we are all truly grateful to Yassine and his team for accommodating this.

We are very pleased with Kimkim and Megan. We were most pleased with our driver Mohammed. We were told our driver would be Yassine who got rave reviews on line. We were met by Mohammed which was a surprise to us. When we checked into the hotel in Casablanca, we were told we would have to pay taxes, and breakfast was not included. Our itinerary said taxes and breakfast were included. We also missed the Jewish Museum as promised by the itinerary. We had to wait to be able to enter the Mosque when we probably would have enjoyed the Jewish Museum more. So we didn't get off to a great start on day 1. When we spoke with the guide and our driver Mohammed, the issues were resolved, but we shouldn't have had the problems in the first place. Where meals were provided, and we mentioned we needed vegetarian for at least 2 of us, they were not aware of our requests in advance (ie. Auberge Chez Pierre). These places should have been aware our dietary needs in advance. All the riads were great. We loved the Chez Pierre the best. The food was amazing! Mohammed turned out to be a fabulous driver and very attentive to our needs. I got very sick and he was truly concerned and helpful.

Our experience with Kimkim was excellent. We began researching our October, 2019 trip to Morocco in March of 2019 and came upon Kimkim. We have never used a travel company in the past. Instead, we do all of the planning ourselves. However, due to the amount of driving, language issues, and general lack of familiarity with Morocco, we decided to consider taking a different approach. From the very beginning, our communications with Abdellah were prompt and informative. He was quick to outline an itinerary that would get the most out of our 13 days in Morocco. We were able to adjust the itinerary ahead of our trip so that it included everything we wanted to see and do. Abdellah was even very helpful during the trip when we had a minor issue that needed to be resolved. The communication from Abdellah was one of the most impressive things about Kimkim. The other was our guide, Ayoub Nibil. There is no question that he made our trip extra special! He was friendly, thoughtful, knowledgeable and eager to share everything he could about his country. He is also a talented musician and we shared many conversations around our common love of music and introducing each other to some of our favorite artists. Ayoub and his big smile were always there to greet us each morning. He and our driver Mohammed took great care of us. We strongly recommend Kimkim, especially if you are traveling to a country where you haven’t been before and need some assistance with planning and executing an exciting itinerary. Our advice is to be as specific as possible with what you want out of your vacation and get all of your questions answered in advance. That way, they can tailor the itinerary to you and surprises will be minimized. We will look to Kimkim in the future when we need their expertise to help get the most out of our vacation.

Megan was able to provide a nice 2-day trip on very short notice. I went to Meknes, which is much less known and at this time, was not full of tourists. My driver got me to my guide, Rachid, and we went to walk around the medina and markets. He was very knowledgeable and helped me to purchase some spices. Then I was taken to a family just outside of the city. They were lovely and took me to the local market with them to buy ingredients for lunch. We even had to go around the flock of sheep that just ran into the square.
They showed me how to make the traditional foods such as mint tea, Moroccan salads and of course, tagine. Then we ate. A very welcoming and enjoyable experience.

I stayed overnight in the old city at a place called Riad D'Or. Inside the maze of the town but not too far to get lost. The riad itself was 3 homes combined and was itself a maze to get around. Charming and very authentic.

Lastly was a trip on the return to Volubilis, the ruins of an ancient Roman city. Very interesting and some beautiful mosaics still remain.

All in all a really nice side trip.

We truly loved our driving tour around Morocco with our ever helpful and friendly driver and guide, Karim. Everything was organised seamlessly by Abdellah, staying in lovely riads, a posh cave room and an even posher desert tent. It was fascinating to visit diverse and vibrant cities such as Marrakesh, Fes, Tangier, Casablanca and Rabat where we felt very welcomed. The landscape of Morocco was endlessly engaging: high mountain peaks, rolling slopes of olive groves, oak and cedar forests, desert and plains, and a beautiful coastline. Activities never before carried out included traditional drumming sessions ( addictive), and evening and early morning camel treks (happily with a night for the legs to recover in between). We are already planning to return and explore further and would not hesitate to use Kim Kim and their specialist Abdellah, who organised such a brilliant trip and was always contactable and responsive.

We arrived in Casablanca for a 7 day Moroccan land excursion in and around northern morocco touching base and driving around in multiple locations. our driver was specifically picked for us from the tour company organizer per our requirements. The choice of our tour guide was in fact perfect, Ismail was his name. He was young, experienced, knowledgeable, fun and professional. We felt very comfortable with him and appreciated his clever sense of humor, it added to the experience of Moroccan journeys. It appeared that the entire country knew him, he was quite popular and well-known to his benefit. I highly recommend Ismail to any single traveler our multiple person groups who want to see any or all parts of Morocco especially those who want knowledgeable information as they are safely driven by Ismail. When we go to Morocco again we will definitely have Imail as our guide again, we have a friend for life.

Our driver, Hassan, was excellent. He was a great driver, knowledgeable and an amiable companion for us. All of the hotels and riads were good. The overall organization plan was well conceived and we enjoyed the activities experienced. We especially enjoyed our camel ride and evening in the desert tent camp.

We had a fantastic trip with Yassine's help. Hassan was an incredible driver and became a close friend. He is funny, smart, honest and has the biggest heart.

Our accommodations were spectacular and activities well planned.
