Our family recently returned from the most memorable journey in Peru. Katy spent many months planning a trip that was exactly what we hoped for - very active and very informative! Our guide, Aldo Sanchez, was a wealth a knowledge on all things Inca and Peru related. His English was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. The first five nights we stayed in local accommodations along the way and each stay provided deeper insight into Peruvian culture. In addition to the wonderous hikes of Macchu Picchu, Huayana Picchu, Huchuy Qosqo, and a snowy Rainbow Mountain, we enjoyed paddle boarding with David on Lake Piuray, experiencing Lamay with Franco, Marta, and Matthew and climbing through the endless Inca and pre-Inca ruins. We will remember this incredible adventure forever! Thank you to the amazing team at KimKim for your attention to every detail and exceeding all expectations!

Johanna and her team did a fantastic job in setting up a great trip for first timers like us. They were thoroughly patient and ever helping in last minute schedule changes. An experience we will cherish for ever.

We traveled to Peru over Spring break 2022. Kimkim set us up with Anne at Peruvian Soul. From start to finish, Anne was super thoughtful and thorough. She knew we have a 12 year old and planned the trip so that it was fun for him too. During the trip, the train to Machu Picchu couldn't run for 2 or 3 days, and Anne quickly rebooked the hotels and activities. That's something that we could not have done, had we been on our own. We were fortunate to be set up with Peruvian Soul, and to be set up with Julio, who was with us about half the trip. Two thumbs up to kimkim and Peruvian Soul for an unforgettable experience. We wish them the best success in their business.

Flor Zuniga was our guide for Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, patient, a great person overall and an excellent guide.

Lima Gourmet (Kimberly) and Berrios Travel (Juan) were our operators for the food tour and the day trip to Huachachina. Both were excellent and made the trips memorable.

Trip was great. All vendors on time to pick us up. Ease in booking on website. The rock climbing/ zip line trip was phenomenal and the guides were patient with me (never climbed and bit of fear of heights)
Liz was great.
The only thing I would say was that it might have been a bit better with more transparency of individual pricing and more discussion of options but that might have improved had I done even more research on my own as well.

Martina and her team were amazing. They made me a custom made trip in a short amount of time. I really recommend their treks as I had one of the most stunning hiking experiences in my life. They are friendly and helpful and knowledgeable.

My wife and I took our two children (aged 11) for a month-long trip to Peru. Fortunately, I stopped trying to do things on my own and called kimkim who connected me to Jesus Martel. I told Jesus this was meant to be a trip of a lifetime for our kids and spent a lot of time planning with Jesus. In the end, this trip really exceeded our expectations! We wanted a good balance of archeological sites and fun activities. Jesus made great suggestions. Quite simply, we couldn't have planned such a great trip on our own. We always felt safe and had great guides who were very knowledgeable and always willing to accommodate our needs and preferences. We liked all of the hotels and I felt we got excellent value for money. Jesus was very professional and always checking in with us. Everything was taken care of; Jesus helped us with restaurant recommendations and reservations, internal air travel, he even arranged for me to see a tailor and I had a couple beautiful suits made. Working with local guides helped us feel connected to Peru and local people. We learned so much on this trip, but we also enjoyed our time together as a family; everything happened so seamlessly. We will definitely use kimkim again. My thanks to Jesus and all of our guides. I've traveled quite a bit in my life, but this was the best trip ever.

We loved our Peru trip! From start to finish, Kristy went above and beyond in helping us plan it and in helping us resolve any issues that came up. Kristy was readily available and quick to help. She helped us resolve easily a couple hotel reservation issues that came up and in even helping us find a lost tablet that our kids left in a hotel. We loved all our guides and stops along the way but we were particularly impressed with our guide Maycol at Lake Titicaca. It was our daughter’s birthday while we were there and he went above and beyond in planning a birthday party for her, getting a cake, and giving her a personal gift that required personal time and effort from him. Peru is a beautiful country with wonderful people and kimkim helped us see it all!

Liz Karen from Andean Travel experience prepared my itinerary after a brief back and forth while Paul Zegarra served as my POC while in Peru for 16 days. Liz's recommendations were perfect for my solo trip that involved numerous activities, excursions, lodging locations, airports, domestic flights, pick ups/drop offs, etc. The lengthly itinerary was executed flawlessly without incident. Accommodations were great. No doubt this feat required a great deal of "behind the scenes" coordination and communication before and during my journey. Regardless of the time of day, Paul was available via WhatsApp and answered all questions I had regarding the itinerary. He provided the assurances needed to eliminate the usual worry. Everything flowed flawlessly including 3 - day excursions from or in Cusco, a 5 day trek to Machu Picchu on the Salkantay Trail, and a river cruise on the Amazon and into the rain forrest. Peru and the trip exceeded expectations. Easy to recommend the kimkim platform and Andean Travel Experience.

So much effort and attention to detail went into the creation of a perfect trip for us and our boys! Each guide was unique and all were knowledgeable, engaging, and talented. Thanks to Angel, Guido, and Johan for sharing their knowledge and passion with us!

Our trip planner, Jesus through Peruvian Soul, was amazing! We had to change the itinerary several times in order to accommodate the things we wanted to see and the time we had. Jesus made it work for us! He communicated with us the whole time during trip planning, and kept up with us and the tour guides throughout our trip tó make sure everything was what we expected and more! We had a lovely stay at Tambopata Research Center and learned so much about the Amazon! Our tour guides, G and Johann were also some of the best tour guides I’ve ever had! They were both native Peruvians who were both passionate and very knowledgeable about their country! They answered all of our questions, and both were so good with our 14-year-old boys. G went way out his way to help me get my phone back from leaving it at Machu Picchu!! And Johann enjoyed his first sandboarding trip with us!! His sweet mother made us homemade chocolates to celebrate!

All of our hotels were very nice, clean and beautiful!! We loved the charming character of the hotels we stayed at in Cusco! The food was amazing, and we got up graded to private tours of the Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain range and Machu Picchu!

Jesús also surprised us with an upgrade to a beautiful hotel in Paracas right on the beach! For our last night in Peru, I was able to walk along the beach at sunset with wild flamingos feeding inThe waters.

I left a piece of my heart in Peru and will come back to visit it someday! ❤️❤️ Thank you to Jesus, G and Johann for make these memories possible!

We had a fabulous trip! It was so nice to have everything planned and run so smoothly. Having all the ground transportation planned in advance was really nice. The vans were so comfortable and the drivers were great! We loved all of our tour guides.
Edwin our guide in Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Pichu was very knowledgeable and professional as well as friendly.
We especially liked Michael in Puno. He really went the extra like for us. Everything was wonderful. When we did run info a problem Kristy was on top of it and worked things out. Thank you so much for such a great trip!

Everything was perfect. Jesus handled all the detailed planning and when we traveled with Peruvian Soul, Edwar had everything handled on the practical side of things. We loved our trip and highly recommend Peruvian Soul for traveling to Peru! Just make sure you pack for all kinds of weather--we were hot when hiking the Inca Trail, and Rainbow mountain was cold and windy. Luckily we had it covered and were prepped by our tremendous guides.

We loved the hotel - grounds were very well kept and quite serene. Our spa visit was unimpressive, because it wasn't ready for us when we showed up at the appointed time, however, the staff made amends and were very accommodating when we told them about our disappointment.

This was a really cool hotel. We loved that the rooms opened up to a courtyard, but our room with the king bed was really small. Our teenagers got a room with two twin beds and it was huge! Rooms were nothing special... just standard hotel rooms. The early morning breakfast was terrible. We had an early flight and we were told the breakfast would be available at 4:00am. When we got down to the restaurant the only thing that was available was scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, and bread. So... we made breakfast sandwiches. I'm sure there were many more options later in the morning, but we expected the breakfast to be full-up when they said it opened at 4:00.

The accommodations were our favorite for our whole trip. We had adjoining rooms with our teenagers, and the view of the river was phenomenal. Great restaurants were a very quick walk, and the breakfast was fantastic. Only negative was that the bottled water in the rooms was not complementary... 10 sol for 1/2 Liter so we just walked down to a different vendor and got 2.5 Liters for 8 Sol.

The Short Inca Trail: Ollantaytambo to Wiñaywayna

We (the adults in our party) loved this hike. Even though it was challenging due to the hot weather at the start, the pinnacle of the monkey staircase and the reveal of Machu Picchu was well worth it. Our teenagers were not as pumped about the hike. 7.1 miles of uphill climbing on uneven rock stairs was a little too much for them. We like to think they were made stronger because of the experience!

Great adventures from the Amazon to the mountains. We visited the Tambopata for the first 4 days of our trip. There is something magical about macaws flying over head while you fish for piranha as a family of river otters play in the water a short distance away. Once we left the Amazon, we met up with our guide, Orlando and driver, Paul. We especially enjoyed our time with Orlando and Paul. They were always looking out for our family to have an amazing time. We can't believe everything we experienced in the two weeks in Peru. The food was amazing, Orlando knows all the good places! One of the highlights of the trip was our home stay in Raqch'i. The family was welcoming and happy for us to experience their community. We were so honored to be a part of their family for the night. We all had a great time dancing by the fire. Our hike on Rainbow mountain was the most challenging part of our trip. Orlando had us take it slow, with lots of breaks.

I chose to go with Kim Kim even though I was unfamiliar with it because of its custom tour feature. I did not want to go with other existing tours as they involved hiking or the duration of the trip was too long. At same time I did not want to plan the trip myself and go to an unfamiliar country with an unfamiliar language by myself. With Kim Kim's custom feature you have the freedom to change your trip however you please.
In my case my local expert was Johanna from Miski Travel and it was a pleasure to work with this agency. I started my trip plan very last minute about 3 weeks prior to our departure. Johanna and her team were very patient with me and we made changes until few days before our trip. We even missed our flight from Lima to Cusco and had to change our Airport pick up just 1 hour before and they were helpful in rearranging our ride. We also had a very nice tour guide Edwin who even travelled with us from Cusco all the way to Agua Calientes where Machu Picchu is which was very reassuring and made us very comfortable travelling to another city.
Overall, I had a very good trip and it was a good idea to work with Kim Kim and Miski travel. If I had to mention an improvement I would have liked to see the breakdown on pricing. We were only given a total price per person, but I wanted to see what I was paying for. Other than that I had an awesome time!
