Charming farmstay with rustic apartments, a seasonal outdoor pool, barbecue facilities, and garden views

Overview

Finca Sa Cova den Borino is set in a two-story farmhouse that is more than 100 years old. It’s surrounded by farmland, so it offers a peaceful and rural setting on the island of Mallorca while still being close to the action in the vibrant town of Campos. There are eight apartments in the farmhouse and some set in newer buildings you’ll find around the property's grounds. There’s a pool, a grassy area with loungers, and places you can do barbecues. The original farmhouse features original architecture, like stone walls and exposed wooden beams. The hotel setting and size of the apartments make it great for families with children, and Finca Sa Cova den Borino is also ideal for those looking to escape the tourist hotspots on the island.

Pros

  • The property oozes rustic Spanish charm and is rich in character, so it makes the perfect rural escape.
  • It combines the best of a countryside escape while still being close to town and nearby beaches.
  • The staff are friendly and helpful.
  • Guests can enjoy the property pool that’s set in its lush gardens.
  • Guests can take advantage of the property’s BBQ facilities.

Cons

  • There is no elevator to the upper floors, and gravel paths make it hard for wheelchair users and families with strollers to navigate.
  • Some of the decorative touches feel a little bit dated. There is no restaurant on site.
  • The property is only accessible by car.

Authenticity

Agroturismo Sa Cova d'en Borino, located in Llucmajor, brings rustic Spanish charm to your stay in the idyllic setting of a converted farmhouse. The hotel provides rich character and authenticity reflected in its stone walls, exposed beams, and age-old artifacts reminiscent of its farming past.

Location

While it's nestled in a peaceful rural setting on the island of Mallorca, you're never too far from action, with the bustling town of Campos just a quick 15-minute drive away. A little farther along, you'll discover the pristine sands of Es Trenc Beach and the lively El Arenal Beach, making this the perfect base for your island getaway.

Rooms & Bathrooms

The rooms at Sa Cova d'en Borino are more like comfortable apartments, each thoughtfully designed to provide a homey atmosphere. Embracing its rustic charm, rooms feature full kitchens, cozy fireplaces, and garden views. Suites offer even more space, with the largest accommodating up to five people. The decor varies from room to room—some maintaining a classic farmhouse feel, while others have been updated for a more contemporary look. While the hotel may be small, with less than 10 apartments, it's perfectly suited for families or groups looking for a tranquil retreat.

Amenities

For those looking to soak up the Spanish sun, the hotel offers a seasonal outdoor pool overlooking the garden, complete with sun loungers and umbrellas on a nearby lawn. Since the property is only accessible for travelers with a car, there’s free on-site parking. Travelers with mobility needs should book ground-floor rooms, as the upper-floor apartments can only be accessed by stairs; however, the paths on the grounds are graveled, so wheelchair users may find this challenging to get about.

Family-Friendliness

The property is great for families with kids, as children of all ages are welcome, and those under 14 can stay for free if they use existing beds. Infant cribs can be requested for free, and additional beds can be provided for a fee. Rooms are large, and even the smallest sleeps up to three, with larger apartments accommodating families of five. There are some extra amenities for kids, like high chairs in the apartments and pool toys the kids can use.

Other Highlights

While the hotel doesn't house a restaurant, each apartment has a kitchenette or full-size kitchen, allowing you to prepare your meals at your leisure. Grills are available for guests if you're in the mood for a barbecue. And for a bit of fun, you can always visit the farm animals on-site. From the ponies to the chickens, they add a touch of charm to this quaint rural retreat.
