The lighting in the room and location of the outlets could be improved. Our room had two small beds vs. a queen bed.

The first room we were put in was very small, had a very low/slanted ceiling and a shower so tiny we wouldn’t have fit. After nicely asking to be moved, the next room was better; felt more like a hotel room rather than a guest room in an attic. The onsite parking was outrageously expensive (would have been about $55/per day. Thankfully we were able to park in a garage down the block for a more affordable rate. Still not our favorite stay of our trip. Read more

The Fosshotel Baron in Reykjavik was a typical tourist hotel. They often booked a lot of retiree buses and it was pretty crowded. But I was on one of the upper floors and it was very quiet. This hotel was perfectly adequate with easy parking and good location for getting around. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only issue was the quality of tap water; the hot water had a sulfur smell. It was not terribly bad and the water was safe to drink, but we never encountered this at any other place during our trip. Read more
