Authenticity

Hotel Leku Eder is a charming, family-run hotel nestled on the hillside of the Igeldo Mountain in San Sebastián. Though renovated in 2012, the hotel maintains a warm atmosphere with traditional furnishings that might feel a little dated to some but authentic to others.

Location

The hotel is on the side of Mount Igeldo, just slightly down the road from the sea cliffs, with views of the hill's amusement park. You'll be about 2.5 miles (4.2 km) from the edge of La Concha Beach, which requires a 10-minute drive. If you'd rather walk, you can follow a nice but steep trail for about 30 minutes. Or opt for the urban bus, which stops in front of the hotel and runs every half hour, arriving in the Old Town in just 20 minutes and the beach area in five minutes.

Rooms & Bathrooms

The hotel features 21 cozy rooms, each with a private bathroom and simple, traditional furnishings that take you back in time. Some might find the decor a little outdated, but it's an authentic family-owned accommodation, giving you a true feeling of northern Spain. One of the rooms is fully equipped for accessibility and many have multiple beds, perfect for families.

Other Highlights

Hotel Leku Eder doesn't have too many amenities like a more modern hotel, but there is a lounge with really nice views over the sea and mountain cliffs. You can unwind with a hot drink, offered for free, or read a book on the sofa while enjoying the scenery. The lounge also provides access to the hotel's garden, featuring swings and a slide for the little ones to enjoy.
